Very first print on the IDEX after converting it to a Trident, adding CAN boards & switching to cable chains. Everything works as it should so far. The first toolhead change took a long time due to a new heater not being PID tuned, so I edited some of the wait time out. The print was an offset calibration test. X was way off.

What I don't get is: How can this work when it seems to have the same number of belts as a normal Voron? EDIT: Ah, I looked it up - the second pair of belts must be on the other side of the x-beam.

The original Voron belts and layout have not changed, but they now only control the X motion. The top belt is attached only to the left toolhead and the bottom belt is attached only to the right toolhead. The Y motion is now controlled by another set of motors and belts added underneath the side rails.

Amazing result! I just built my corexy idex on klipper with the same Y drives as you. Would you mind sharing your config files as there is close to no documentation about IDEX on Klipper?

I have a video where I go over the relevant settings my printer.cfg file. I didn't release the file previously because I was using the LCD pins for something else and didn't want anyone to fry their LCD. I need to clean it up before releasing it. Check out "double dragon" (and dueling zero) on zruncho's github. It's a bit higher level than what I've done. He has all his files and macros on there.

@@badmouth75 Are you using the BTT EXP MOT? Thats what I am using to get an extra 3 steppers. Uses the EXP1 and EXP2 ports. Thanks for the git, ill check it out!
