Idiot "Karen" Stops Me from Getting Into My Own Garage

PLEASE READ BEFORE LEAVING A COMMENT: Despite the fact that 99 percent are able to understand my explanation of strata rules and also realize that this is just supposed to be fun entertainment, the one-percent keep leaving the same, incorrect comments over and over again. Continue reading and if I address your concerns here, please don’t leave negative comments about them:
1. The strata rules are clear. You are not permitted to block people from entering the garage. So, NOBODY is permitted to sit there like she did. As she chose to break the rules and sit there anyway, it was her responsibility to look over her shoulder and watch the entire gate. You can’t wait until the gate appears in your rear-view mirror. I am not required, in any way whatsoever, to let the gate come down AT ALL. I did it to be courteous and assumed that she would be smart enough to look over her shoulder.
2.Yes, there is a sign on the gate that says to let the gate close all the way. This applies to when there are no cars behind you. It’s to keep pedestrians from sneaking under the gate. Thus, the image of feet on the sign. Once someone pulls up behind you in their car, you are REQUIRED to move out of the way.
3. The reason I get out to take her photo is because the strata asks that you collect evidence, like a photo, if you see anyone break the strata’s rules… this includes calling people names and blocking the entrance to the garage.
4. I hadn’t planned on posting this video, but because she tried to defame my character and lied about what happened, I chose to post it. Sometimes, dishonesty needs to be pointed out.

Hate to tell you but from her position in such a low car she wouldn't have seen the gate move. It only rolled back maybe 8 inches before you activated it to roll up again. If you'd have let it roll down further whole incident probably would have never happened if you let it close. Now your by laws may be different then the posted signage but the signage does say to let the gate close. Perhaps she has been a victim or a friend has to theft in the garage by those not suppose to be in it. Either way this escalated from frustrations/fears when it didn't need to.

Hello Cragified. Yes, I know she would not have been able to see the gate close by looking through her mirror. She should have known that as well. That is why, if she chooses to sit there, it is her responsibility to look over her shoulder and watch the whole gate, not just what she can see in her mirror. The sign on the gate is in reference to, if you are the only car going through, you should make sure pedestrians don't sneak under the gate. That is why there is a picture of feet on the sign. You are no longer asked to sit there when another car pulls up behind you. At that point, you are required to move.

She didn’t know if I was a stranger or not. That’s why, if she is going to sit there, she is supposed to look over her shoulder, not in the mirror, to watch and see if the gate came down at all. Plus, as I mentioned in the video, she is not allowed to continue sitting there. She has to move out of the way.

I’m not understanding the backlash in the comments. She was clearly in the wrong. She’s not security to do that and she sure as hell doesn’t have the right to call someone out with names. Forgive me if this does seem rude. I do not intend it to be. She truly was wrong lying to try to get you in trouble. But i do not think that after watching the video she for sure saw the gate closing behind her in the first place. I could be wrong. But i'm guessing she was looking in her rear view mirror and the bottom of the gate may not have been visible to this woman before you reopened it. That having been said, she did you wrong by filing (and falsifying) a complaint. Very glad it didn't end up harming your living situation as i know baseless claims like hers can cause major problems. Yes. I'm sure she DID NOT see the gate come down the first time. That's the whole point. She stopped where she is not permitted to stop and then refused to look over her shoulder to see if the gate starts to come down. She sat there and looked into her mirror instead. Thus, the reason people are not permitted to sit there in the first place. Thanks for watching.

use to drive semis and had a P O Box, would be out on the road 4 to 6 weeks,always had tons of mail and would just start opening the mail,one had a check in it nothing else, wrote out to a church,so I called the people whose name was on the check told the "lady" what happened and she started screaming at me that I broke the law and was gonna call the cops, unfortunately I had gave her my name and address ,she called the feds up and the local cops,cop called called and said the fed put out a warrant on me,they never contacted me just the cops I told him what happened he talk to the lady and she wanted me to be put in prison,he called the feds and said it was a mistake they would fix it, cop came by said she was a REAL LIFE BITCH and was yelling at him to arrest me,so now when i get someone else's mail i rip it up and put in my burn barrel WITH OUT LOOKING INSIDE

I hate to tell you.. But I think shes right.. at least with the first time the gate comes down and goes up. Look at the angles.. I dont think she could possible see the gate from her angle in the rear view... Maybe she could see it in front or above her I dont know. But the bottom of the gate is above her roof line, and so she would not have seen it... I think. And if thats correct, then she is doing the correct thing in her mind. Preventing someone without the gate activator from sneaking in behind her... Maybe im wrong. But I dont think so.

Hello kens97sto171. You just explained why she was in the wrong. You said that she couldn't see the gate through her rear view. That's correct. If she is going to sit that closely and be the self-appointed, gate keeper, then it is her responsibility to look over her shoulder - not through the mirror - to watch if the gate came down at all. Plus, keep in mind that, according to the strata bylaws, she is not permitted to sit there and be the gate keeper in the first place. She has to get out of the way of anyone wanting to enter. Those are the rules.

A Day In The Life of a Tour Bus Driver Ahh.. I understand now. well if sitting there is against the rules then your right. I can understand why people do that though. the whole point of a gate is to keep unauthorized people out. if a car can just drive in after another authorized car goes in it defeats the point of the gate. I'm assuming the gate comes down regardless of if a car is sitting under it... so maybe one car could get in after another but not a whole line of people.

From watching this I can all ready gauge and ubderstsnd how it works. The gate has a sensor So once you activate it you can then open it and drive through, it got an automated lower function on it, so few seconds and it goes down. The sensor stop more than one car from trying to sneak in at a time. So you open then drive off and park, the gate comes down and this stage you drive forward to activate sensor and press open, gate opens. Controlled access.. She was just being a silly Billy. And started by calling him an idiot..

I was on my way home from the gym, roughly a week ago. I was on the main Blvd, and see this guy speeding, changing lanes, squeezing in between all the cars and overall driving reckless. As luck would have it, we both turned on the same street (with a school on this street). Dude is tailgating like crazy. And he soon tries to overtake me one a 2-way street, so I gas it. I could see it's some 20-something Latino guy with his window down. He yells at me as he passes me by while he's driving on the opposite side of the road. So I pull over, because I'm low-key scared as fuck at the way he almost crashed right into me and endangered the car driving opposite end of us. I yelled at him "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU" he basically yells some profanity and speeds off, peeling out. Cop on the side street seen the whole thing and pulled him over in a school zone. After giving it some thought, i would hate to be him right about now. He more than likely got a ticket for speeding in a school zone, going through a stop sign in a school zone, and I'd honestly say 50/59 on reckless driving while in a school zone. Dude had the audacity to call me a bitch... but after that phat ads ticket, he probably a broke bitch. 😂🤣

I don't believe she saw it on the first attempt. I DO believe she was paying attention. While it's easy to establish that WE have a clear line of sight to her windshield mounted rear-view mirror; you'll have to bear in mind that even with the gate descending, the lowest part of it does NOT cross that line of sight from "OUR" camera to her mirror. You also have to recognize that the rear of her cars roof would prevent her from seeing at a rearward and upward angle to witness the gate coming down (on the first attempt). If she had been another 10 feet forward perhaps the angle from the lowest point of the gates descent to the mirror would have decreased and allowed her to see it coming down (1st attempt). As it stands, she was doing her best to try and ensure that the gate came ALL the way down in an attempt to prevent unauthorized access (as the gate sign requests. In short, I believe you jumped the gun a bit. Also, I don't see why it was necessary to speak with her, get out of your vehicle, or take her picture whatsoever. You could have just let it roll off your back with the knowledge that a similar occurrence happening would be a rare thing indeed.

This is the ridiculous part. When they thought it was me who was the cause of the problem, the strata was ready to fine me two-hundred-dollars. However, when they found out it was her that was the problem, suddenly, a warning is good enough. My guess is that she is friends with people on the strata.

At the point where you let the gate come down to the first time, she probably couldn't see it. So I understand her waiting until it completely dropped. The name calling and cussing is just juvenile. You walked away and that should've been the end of it. If it had been me, I would've explained that I never saw the gate start to come down and that I was sorry for the inconvenience. Yes. Clearly she didn't see it the first time. That is the problem. She wasn't supposed to be stopped there in the first place and when she did, she waited to see if it would show up in her mirror, instead of doing what she should have - which was look over her shoulder and watch the whole gate. Thank you for being polite with your question. Yes. It would have been impossible for her to see the gate go down and up again while looking in her mirror. That is exactly the problem. She was not permitted to sit there in the first place and considering she chose to break the strata rules, it was her responsibility to look over her shoulder at the whole gate, not wait until it appeared in her mirror. If you read at the top, where it says, “PLEASE READ BEFORE LEAVING A COMMENT”, there is more detail. Have a nice day.

You were right and the woman delibrately stopped to annoy you by stopping at the gate. There was no reason for her to stop at the entrance and wait until you had to back off due to gate coming down. And immediately moving after that. She knew what she was doing. Such people are a disgrace.

@@ayereg5972 considering she lives there and they have rules about letting people slip through the gate in order to stop theft she is minding her own business and doing the right thing for her neighbors. people sneaking in behind cars into car parks is a old standby for thieves, not just for cars but the storage lockers are often in the car park as well. not to mention access to laundry rooms. when you are homeless and need a new outfit this is an age old way of getting them.

I try to see both sides of every story also my father was a detective. She probably did that to make sure she had plenty of time to move away from your car and get out of her car Incase your we’re there to do her harm. My daughter was followed once going to her hotel room. The man stopped when he saw her put her key in her door. He made like he was putting his key in his door. She decided to act like hers wouldn’t work and go back to the front desk. He followed her back down. I’m not saying what she did was right just that maybe she thought that you were going to follow right behind her to her space. Just saying.
