I got this and it works great! Now I can turn on the idle stop IF I ever want it instead of turning it off every time I start the car. Installation was easy.

Plus, it pays for itself in reduced wear and tear on your battery and starter.

You can also always shift the vehicle into the "S" gear indicator position (Sport Mode) to start driving, and then the irritating Idle-stop "feature" will not be engaged when driving.

I just got myself the 2024 sport hybrid l and I haven’t noticed this at all. Maybe they update it on the 24’ year model

It’s a totally different system on the hybrid vehicles. The hybrid uses a large magnet to restart the vehicle (also much smoother which is why it’s hardly noticeable on yours) instead of using the battery and starter like the gas only engines. Also the factory hybrid system uses the idle stop to regulate the hybrid batteries and is actually a good thing which is why we don’t offer any disable modules for the hybrid vehicles. Thanks for watching though!

@@idlestopper7486 wow thanks for the clarification. I love the hybrid so far and like you mentioned it’s hardly noticeably

What is the purpose of car shutting down when on idle.
@idlestopper7486
@idlestopper7486 Год назад
The intended purpose was to save a few MPGs or fuel waste in a long idle situation. The problem is that it has unintended consequences of over working the battery/starter/engine which have led to many premature failures. The idle stop can be good in heavy traffic where some fuel is wasted but in mostly ALL other situations the idle stop is unnecessary and causes more problems than it solves. In my opinion, the factory idle stop system should only be on if you NEED to reserve fuel. It should not be enabled by default like it comes from the factory. Turning off the engine at a stop sign or short stop does nothing but cause additional wear or create delays when you are trying to take off or need to make a driving maneuver. Honda also has a recall and warranty extension for many vehicles NOT restarting after an idle stop and leaving the driver stuck which can be a bad situation depending on where and when you get stuck. Being stranded for 40 sec-1 min may not seem long until your are in an intersection during rush hour with cars wizzing past or around you. As an 18+ year Honda technician I’ve heard this from many customers and its made them feel worried or unsafe. I’m passionate about honda vehicles and want my customers and new owners to feel confident and safe in their vehicle. Honda makes the best/safest vehicles on the road but they sorely missed the mark with the idle stop system “feature” My apologies for the long response but I really do care about my product and Honda customer experience.

Will this gadget void the warranty? Just wanted to know because I just bought a 2023 Honda CRV and I hate the stop/start feature.

Thanks for your interest! The Idlestopper will NOT void your warranty, the manufacturer isn’t allow to void your entire warranty legally because of the Moss/Magnusson warranty Act law that was passed in the 1970s. At most, the dealer could deny a warranty claim on the idle stop switch as it is connected directly to the device (and that’s only if they can PROVE the Idlestopper was the fault) All other vehicle systems and parts would still be fully protected under your normal warranty and cannot be affected by you installing the module into your vehicle. The Idlestopper is designed to not fail in any way that can damage the vehicle. It’s a very minimally invasive installation and has no issues with compatibility or durability. It does not reprogram or change any factory settings, it simply presses the off button electronically. Aftermarket parts are a normal part of the industry and manufacturers know it. Customers use many after market parts on their NEW vehicles: -Phone and usb adapters -drive cameras -radar scanners -wiper blades -tires -wheels These are just a few of the things that, by the above standard, can technically “void” parts of your warranty in a similar fashion to the idlestopper. Example; If a phone charger adapter that you got from eBay shorts out and damages your power socket or fuse in your car then the manufacturer isn’t going to cover the repairs needed. Does not void warranty, just denied coverage to that specific repair. Example; If the Idlestopper shorts out and damages power socket fuse in your vehicle then the manufacturer isn’t going to cover the repairs. Does not void warranty, just denied coverage for that specific repair. Example; If you put aftermarket tires and wheels on your new car and have issues with balance or vibration then the manufacturer isn’t going to cover the repairs if they are needed to the wheels or tires. Does not void warranty, just denied coverage for that specific repair. Hope that makes sense! Again thanks for your interest.

The idle stop should be an option in settings ! . Most annoying feature . Should be allowed to have it active or disabled . Hate the idle stop feature and how every time you have to hit the button a 100 times to keep it off

Agreed! Should have been an option to permanently disable from the factory

Does this apply to the 2023 CRV Hybrid?
@idlestopper7486
@idlestopper7486 Год назад
Unfortunately we don’t offer any modules for hybrid vehicles. The hybrid system actually needs the auto stop to function properly and maintain the charge level on your hybrid battery. Thanks for your interest anyways!

makes no sense why honda didn't include a start/stop button on the 2023 crv hybrid... previous years have it.. or can anyone tell me were it is or how to turn it off
@idlestopper7486

The idle stop system on the hybrid CRV is actually needed to regulate and maintain proper hybrid battery charge levels. This is why Honda doesn’t put a button to turn off on the hybrid models.

Amazon sells in idle stopper for this 23 CRV that doesn't require you to remove the whole console just the bottom part it doesn't need any power........ How and why is this different and why does this one need power

Thanks for your interest and good question! On our module: The power socket connection is used as it’s the MOST stable power source for the idlestopper circuit board. It’s also used because it’s not able to cause ANY damage to your vehicle in the unlikely event of a circuit board failure or short circuit. At most it will blow a fuse for the power socket that can be easily replaced. The other (cheap China made Amazon modules): Use an internal module voltage from the gauge control module as it’s power source. This internal power source can be easily damaged by a fault in the start stop disable module and could fry your vehicle control module. Also this internal power source can be prone to small voltage drop outs which will make the start stop module reset or work sporadically. This internal voltage is NOT protected by a fuse at all which isn’t good in electronics in general. We strive for a perfect working module with NO faults or possibilities of vehicle damage. The last thing we’d want is to fix one issue(idle stop) and cause another.
