Idlewild is a band that has grow up with me, from agnsty teen to literature loving adult. Unlike most bands who try to recapture old glory, Idlewild produce different looks and sounds every album.
@@Kingofstonerrock oh course, if that's your opinion, that's your opinion. Those first e albums were great! But when you listen to the interviews and how fed up they were of making traditional rock music, and watching Rod and Roddy move into folk music, you can tell they are now writing out of passion rather than fact the record label wanted them to stay rock for their first 5 album contact
I absolutely love Idlewild, I think that they're one of the most underrated bands of the time... But... From like 2001 onwards, they really didn't have a great live performance. Still love them though. I just think I'll stick to the studio recordings.
I can't say I agree. They've always been great live. Unless you're expecting them to be jumping about like when they were in their early 20s, which would be quite daft, to be honest. The energy of those early shows was something else, I'll give you that, but musically they're leaps and bounds better now.
Great band. Think they used to hang about Glasgow pub Nice N Sleazy in their youth and act like arrogant wankers alongside the Arab Strap lot. But all can be forgiven. Fantastic band.
@@ChristopherKit You obviously failed to notice the “Fantastic Band” and “All can be Forgiven” part of my comment otherwise you wouldn’t have made such a ridiculous statement…
Is that that the same drummer 😆 from 2002. Or 3 drummer. Even drummer , does not look like the original drummer in the earlier years. But cool! Same drum kit.👍😔👀😜
