Emo kids in the Middle East? Yup. This scene has been going on in Tel Aviv since I was a teen myself, and probably even before, so I thought it's about time I show it to the world to see :)

Hey man. After almost two weeks of watching the news nonstop I watched this and your Mea Shearim video. I dunno, it reminded me that we managed to build a unique, diverse culture here, with all its different influences and origins mixed together (kinda like you haha), who knew we could make it work, gathered from all corners of the world, but we did - there's no place quite like it. The antisemite argument used to be there's no unique Jewish culture, but here we are - it's a unique fusion that exists nowhere else and we must fight to preserve it. Just wanted to let you know

I've used to be a center kid from 1984-86, we wanted to feel cool and western also had war in Lebanon and gaza. We used to be more gothic, listen to bands like joy division, Bauhaus, Dead Kennedy's, Siouxie & the banshees. I'm happy to see that the alternative community still alive, although in a different way. Thank you for uniqe video, great escapism ❤

Make-up, music, books, comics etc. Some typical Tel Avivians you’ll find in Serbia as well, the “Nik-tech”/Adidas-wearing Arsim, or Gopnik I lost my virginity to a very hot, very kind, 18-year old Serb chick when I was 22✌️☮️

Some parts of Tel Aviv are a bubble. People look at the modern parts of the town, at the beaches and malls and think that this is what Israel looks like. No, sorry, it doesn´t. Then these are not "normal" kids. They're all middle and lower upper class kids of Ashkenasi origin, usually first generation olim with families overseas. And you wouldn't even have to go to Geula or Mea Shearim dressed like that to be chased off the streets.

The same way we have one in Europe/NA. These are mainly Ashkenasi middle-class kids with family/ cultural ties to the West. But, this is Tel Aviv, Israel is different.

Honestly find it sad and beautiful seeing the kids. Such talented, beautiful and friendly/welcoming kids yet often what they've been through is miserable. Sad seeing kids smoking at such a young age, no judgement but just find it sad as it takes a toll long term. Honestly, the world needs more hugs and we need to start really thinking seriously what we're putting our children and future generations through. There's so much talent and potential, but we put them through hell and leave them to flounder. Thanks for the fantastic video :)

Listening to one of the teenage girls referring to concerts that she goes to made me wonder. This video was made before 7/10 and the possibility of these kids being at the peace music festival is quite high. My heart goes out to them, just being themselves and enjoying life.
