(Follow in English) Viendo estas técnicas de movimiento después de tantos años y estando ahora en KYOKUSHIN-KAN (Escuela de Kancho Hatsuo Royama) vero que falta movimientos de cadera y faltan posiciones de transición (ejemplos: enoji dachi, Te-Kokutso Dachi, un buen Tsuru Ashi Dachi, y en giros y algunos movimientos Kake Ashi Dachi). Tener en cuenta esto también. NOW, seeing these technical movements (Ido Geiko) after so many years and now being in KYOKUSHIN-KAN (School of Kancho Hatsuo Royama) I see there is missing movements of the hips and also some missing transition positions (For instance Enoji Dachi, Te-Kokutso Dachi, a good Tsuru Ashi Dachi and in some turns and movements the Kake Ashi Dachi). OSSU muy bueno me sirve para estos días que no puedo ir al dojo entrenar en casa. Una duda me llamó la atención que se mencionan algunos términos en koreano. Supongo se debe a que es en Korea adonde se realizó el vídeo . Hace muy poco empezé a practicar kyokushin. Saludos fraternos desde Uruguay

Андрей Напалков Depends how you look at it, I thought so to. Many of these I learned in Korea and even in Japan. Good for coordination , reaction and to get speed. There is not only one TRUE training. Many of them, together, become the one ☝️. What is important is to do the all these with KIME (Power). I found it very useful the techniques of Jodan Uke together with Gedan Barai.. and for instance the Soto Uke with Gedan Barai can be issued in fight (Kumite) to hit and block a Kage Tsuki (Round punch). I cannot agree this is just hand waving and no Kime at all. But anyhow I appreciate your input and of course to consider it. No Bunkai here and I understood well what you wrote. This is a way to practice. You can practice in many ways. By doing ido geiko you practice movement, balance, stability, coordination and strength. You actually are working from an unpractical and unfavourable stances by purpose. Ido geiko is one part of many as Kihon, Kata, Bunkai-Kumite (and ura waza) and Kumite. Kumite Kyokushin tournament rules or even real fighting (as we have in Kyokushin-kan) with face punches, grabbing to certain level etc). We even practice with weapons. Answering your question - yes it train your body coordination and yes we train to be prepared for real fight to defend ourselves. Kyokushin-kan is Budo Karate. It was conceived for this purpose .
