Idolmaster will always be better than Love Live, Aikatsu, and all the other idol series. These girls have such a deep place in my heart and they will never leave. Happy 15th anniversary im@s!
I love this kind of review. With all the super loud, quick and comedic reviews out there, it's nice to have a video that's just peaceful and soothing to watch. It's a really difficult thing to accomplish (with how fine the line is between boring and calming), but I think you pulled it off perfectly. o:
I think it can't be undersold that Idolmaster for the Xbox 360 was an amazingly revolutionary title. Cel-shading at that level was basically unheard of at the time, yet is a staple in 3d development today In no small way, Idolmaster really did push forward modern anime-style cel-shaded graphics. You go ahead and thank your Genshin Impacts but also thank Idolmaster.
My friend! You have outdone yourself with this one! So many references! Such a smooth tone! And such passion for the source material you are reviewing! From the opening intro to the ending transition I can see the immense amount of effort going into this! You've crafted a unique style! Make more videos bro! Your hitting your stride!
You got a subscriber out of me. I don't even like idol anime, but as you said, the themes were heavy and the show was so well paced with such a great pay off. I really cherish this series as a favorite. "The iDOLM@STER (Mana)" manga really should be looked into by anyone after they finish the anime and movie. It's a spin off that starts from episode 13 that gives more individual focus to the characters that never got any. And that in my opinion is great since I think IM@S's biggest strength is in its characters' individuality. Even the movie, which is a sequel, is still all about Haruka. Of which, I think is very fair since her arc got a little derailed so it could end up being more about the group and finalizing loose threads with Chihaya.
This was such a well polished review! Loved the transitions and the editing was top notch! This was slightly better than the Cory in the House review. Great to see you back with another video!
Holy shit look at the comments section! It's like a AnimeGalaxy reunion! O___o #BlastFromThePast Great video Louis! Very, VERY well put together! Keep up the great work mate! :D
I'm making an analysis/comparison video of idolmaster and love live. I don't hate idolmaster, but the anime was decent at best. Sure the anime was "darker," but the anime has so many force plot device to progress the plot and character development. I absolutely hate Miki and her arc because she's a bratty character and so melodramatic. I don't mind melodrama, but her problem didn't make much sense and could have been easily avoided. The insert songs was forgettable IMO.(except Yakusoku) Not because it's bad or boring, but how they executed them. Most songs they out only lasted 10 seconds or they insert the songs while the scene was more interesting. Unlike idolmaster, at least love live has a better team interaction. Sure idolmaster made Chihaya the most developed out of the whole team, but LL does that with Honoka while making muse stand out more than team 765. Also the antagonist was pretty bad and cliché. His motive wasn't that good. He just came off as your typical one dimensional villian. Don't get me wrong I like idolmaster, but it's not "omg much better than love live because it's so dark and mature" I'm making an analysis/comparison video of idolmaster and love live. ***** Thank you for replying. I can respect you for going though your time to reply. Sadly I would kindly disagree with some points. I don't see why it's hard to compare Idolmaster and Love Live. It's no difference if I was comparing the big three or sao and log horizon. Heck I can even easily make a comparison between a log and a stick. So I don't find a reason why it's difficult to compare those two. "Your first point about the "forced plot device" is something you see in basically every anime and basically any film/book, plot devices progress characters, and I don't see how Love Live is any different, the amount of deus ex machina is probably more abundant in Love Live" Every stories has somewhat of a plot device, but it need to feel natural or makes sense. I feel like 70% of the time the character get develop or plot progress is because the script told them to. The biggest sin was the Hibiki episode. The scene where she argue with the dog doesn't really make sense. Maybe people can communicate with animals, but making a normal conversations with them is not realistic or natural. Especially when her pets came to rescue her.(or her hamster making in time to tell the dog that she's in trouble.) I feel like the only good drama or characterization was Chihaya, Makoto, Haruka(I guess) and Iori. Mami and Ami episode was fine, but it's just there to be gags and giggles. The reason why I say force because Miki melodrama started because she fail in social skill to see that Producer was busy on the phone. She blames him for not understanding that she can't be in the mini group. Sure Love Live has a few melodramas, but it's understandable. The first season drama such as Kotori leaving muse could be "avoidable," but at the same time, it has a better buildup and completely understandable and relatable. Kotori really wanted to go abroad to get better at designing clothes. She wanted to tell them that she's going to leave, but after Honoka being depressed; she have no idea what to do. She doesn't want to make Honoka feel even worse. She was very nervous on what she's going to say. Honoka leaving Muse is understandable as well. Since she feels like she is the cause of the hiatus and them losing the chance to go to Love Live. "Miki is a bratty character but what is the problem in that, there are bratty humans in the real world. Her dual personality of stage and back stage you could argue is similar to Nico where people hate her because she could be considered 'bratty'." Miki is a bratty character. Her drama was caused for the heck of development and drama. "I'm quitting 765 because I feel betrayed!!!!" A perfect girl who has "internal problems" because she has no goals doesn't make a good written character. At least Nico has some good characterization. Nico act the way she did was executed much better. Nico is a blunt person and she has high expectations. Since she is a huge Idol fans, she want things to be perfect. You could make a comparison to Akasaka from Sakurasou, since they both has similar personality.(excluding the disliking females) Nico is more of a relatable character because she is pretty much average compare to other Muse cast. Which can go back to us because you think you're good at something, but someone out there is better. She's pretty realistic imo. While I may over exaggerate about most songs being short, but it's true that some of their songs doesn't last that long or just there for still frames of the characters doing something or just being there. Though when they do show the songs in the concert, it was pretty good. I give them that. The antagonist I was talking about is production 761. I may be harsh on Idol Master, but I actually enjoy the series. Personally I would love to re watch the series. The reason why I am very critique about it is because idol master fanboys was bashing LL and say "it's not good, Idol Master ftw." "Characters is not good, bunch of clichés." Yeah........... You get my point. So I was a bit salty. Though I get why you like Idol Master. I hope I didn't give off the douchebag vibe.
+Nipah EveryDay no matter what you say, love live is still never gonna be as good as a show as Idolm@ster. iDOLM@STER Cinderella girls however.... kinda sucks
Denari Aiba well explain. Saying you're opinion is wrong without backing up your claim isn't making any point. Also I started watching Cinderella Girls right now and so far I am enjoying the first two episode a lot better then the original series first two episodes. I think people just have this mindset that the original is better.
***** Ahahahaha. Wait for the drama. wait for the extremely forced Drama. iDOLM@STER Has a great cast, great songs and portrayed the characters great. I think Miki was well done as she is pretty much the same in the games as well. iDOLM@STER Cinderella girls. I WANTED to love that series. Hell, I think it does some really good things. But The more the series goes on, the more the drama just feels forced. Uzuki, the main girl...You don't get to feel anything for her really, unlike Haruka. Haruka was always there to help yet Uzuki only yelps like...1 girl out of the over 13 girl cast. Haruka tried to help everyone and was always there to help no matter what it meant to her.
Denari Aiba I didn't feel that way for the original series, especially Miki. The foreshadowing feels force. Like I said I don't like how Miki keep asking producer that she want to be in the mini idol group. He was busy and Miki keeps bugging him. He couldn't think straight and just agree with her. How the plot device was used feels rather cheap. Well I have to watch the anime to find out.
some say he became a giant weeb, developed self hatred, and killed himself. other say he got too lazy and forgot this channel. one thing is for sure though. cory in the house is the best anime.
