Hey, Bennie which country do you belong to? I am from Bangladesh. As I accustomed to Bengali language, So I am confused about achieving such scored as you got. What is Mother tongue?
@@Abu_Zubair21 You should practice every day so that you can get accustomed to the different accents. I printed out the test sheets and then played the recording and took the practice tests as though I am already taking the real one. Then I compare my score to the given bands. To get a 9, you need to make no more than one mistake out of 40 items. :) Good luck! P. S. I have been fluent in both English and Filipino since I was young. However, I might not have gotten a 9 if I had not learned the tips given to me by this channel.
Just took IELTS and got overall 7, I didn’t spend much time to revise, I only took the test 2 days after applying. Believe me, if you are good, you can totally nail it. To people who see this comment, good luck and relax! You can get a satisfying result!
Wow congratulations :) I would really appreciate if you could share wether you took the academic version of the test and whether you took it in your own country? Many thanks ❤
TIPS MENTIONED: 1) use the time to read questions 2) Use review time to check the next upcoming questions 3) pay attentiom to key words of questions so when you hear them you can answer quickly 4) write what you hear, you can cancel if its wrong later 5) Try to guess the answer before so u can quickly grasp when the speaker says 6) take care of grammar 7) dont write words where in the questions that ask to choose alphabetical answers 8) the digit ZERO in telephone numbers are pronounced as the letter "O" double zero as "double o" and triple zeroes as "triple Os" 9) in MCQ where you have to choose the correct answers READ READ READ carefully and concentrate or highlight keywords 10) remember (north=up, south=down, east= left, west=right while doing maps and go according to orders 11) Never leave an answer, guess
To the ones still practicing for the IELTS test, I took the Academic version last saturday (may 22nd, 2021) and in my listening test, they used material from the reading practice tests available in the The Guide To IELTS Cambridge, so they are reciclying content perhaps, I hope you find it useful.
@Katherine B&G. Hi Katherine! I live in Valledupar, Colombia but the test was not available in my city so I had to book the test in Barranquilla. If this is your case or this comment comes accross any Colombian friend, I highly advise to take the test in the British International School in Puerto Colombia. My experience was excellent, the examiners, invigilators and all the protocols were great. I hope you find this info useful Kath !

@@joyotihaque1679 hi for me speaking and listening was the hardest. so i was just watching soo many youtube videos and just practicing the conversations by myself. Hope this helps!
@@linsane2489 for me it's the other way round, I did my speaking test today, it went good. I know i'll do good in listening as well. However, am not really sure about writing and reading. :/
Hi Asiya, I simply love the easy-to-understand tips and tricks across all sections, that you provide. I could refine my strategies very well and get very confident by all your videos on IELTS. I got in my very first exam this year - 8.5 overall Speaking 8.5 Listening 8.5 Reading 9 Writing 7 Thanks to you!

Hey Asiya I just want you to know how thankful I am for your tips for taking ielts i just had only a week to prepare and I was having a problem with how to cope up with the pressure until i found your tips and it help me a lot. Though because of the limited time i need to review, I never had the chance to get a target score in writing because I solely focused on the 3 skills and it worked out great i had a band score of 7.5 and I was here to let you know how thankful I am. Love from the Philippines.
Trust me. If you're not confident in getting good band in listening and writing watch her videos. I came to this channel just a week prior to my exam n i got 8.5 in listening and 8 in writing, i messed up big time in speaking and got a mere 6.5 and 7.5 in reading. This is the best channel along with E2 to boost your confidence.
I think the worst thing about IELTS is listening only once to the audios. All the other exams I know you can listen to the audios twice, and it helps a lot to check the answers. :'(
Hello Asiya, I watched this video two days to my exam and yes it helped. I got a Band 9 in listening. From the Hall , I was certain I would pass my listening exam. Thank for the tips. You are a great teacher.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for this video. I managed to get band 9 in my listening test on 12 September 2020. The tips surely helped

I read Bennie Vargas's comment while watching this video when I was outside my exam hall and thought it's complete bs that she got 9.0 in listening because of the video. But, I got 9 after watching the video too! Thank you for your effort.

Just writing this comment to Thank you for the very helpful posts on IELTS specially the tips and tricks. I was able to prepare in very short time with your suggestions and score a 8.5 band overall. Thanks a lot and big 👍🏻👍🏻
I didn't have a lot of time to study for ielts (3 days) and had trouble with the listening part as I couldn't get more than 7.5 on mock tests. I watched this video 1 hour before the exam started. and honestly, it helped a lot. I was able to get 8.5 in the listening part and an overall band score of 8. Thank you so much for making this video ❤
I took the ielts twice, and on both I suffered from insomnia the night before due to stress. The exam day is in two days. I hope I'll be able to sleep. 😂
We're taking our IELTS on August 28. Hoping we do well! Watching your videos to get as much tips as possible! Thank you or sharing your knowledge! We will update you soonest we get our results!
Hi Asiya, I'm from India. Got an OBS of 8 in my first IELTS attempt (in a month's preparation time). Several you tube channels are offering guidance but i decided to follow yours as your videos were clear, precise and had effective strategies. Thanks a ton and God bless your good work!!
Hello again! I just wanted to say that I got my results today and thanks to your recommendations I was able te get 8.5 in Listening. Thank you so much Asiya! Valledupar, Colombia.
@@Kalamarina3 Hi Kathe! ¡ Suerte!

Thank you very much for these precious advices :) The video is really clear, but I have some remaining questions for you/everyone (maybe these doubts could help also someone else approaching the IELTS exam): 1) In the paper based exam, when you report your answer on the official answer sheet, do you have to write them in italics, capital letters or as you prefer? 2) I read that you should write answers with a pencil both for your IELTS listening and your IELTS reading...Am I right? Because it sounded me strange... in fact a pencil writing could be easily erased by whatever.. 3) In the Listening section, I always miss points when you have to write and fill the gaps, not because of the spelling, but in these situations: - a) I sometimes forget an adjective where you could write "no more than 2/3 words", writing only the correct noun. - b) I commit some mistakes, as writing "Yoga" instead of "Yoga class" in task 1, where there are "tables of a program", or anyway something schematic. - c) I write "30" instead of "thirty". - d) I miss articles: "passenger" instead of "a passenger" or "the passenger". Will I lose the point for a, b, c, d reason? In a few words, I always understand the general meaning and what they say, but I have some difficulties due to these problems I mentioned. Does someone else have my same issues? Sorry for the length O:)
Wonderful way of speaking. Proper stress on each and every word is auspicious. It make your speaking marvellous. Please make a video of speaking this way.
Hello Asiya … Thank you so much … All your classes helped me to achieve ‘8’ Band in Listening, Reading and Speaking … Writing was a bit heartbreaking though (got only 6.5) … Thanks a lot … Keep making videos that help many more like me …
Hello Asiya!, Thank you, I have passed my listening with a 7.5 band and Reading 7.5. Keep doing this for Us . We will keep recommending you. I passed all my papers. I'm so Happy 😊😁 💕
Hi Asiya, I just did the academic computer-based test in Perth/Australia and I got the score I needed -- I've got 8.5 in both listening & reading, 8 in speaking and 7 in writing (my requirements were : average 8, no band less than 7, speaking/listening 8 minimum). Thanks to your tips I could improve my writing to just the score I needed -- many thanks again!.
@@chefseby7002 I find the PC based exam to be "easier" (or more comfortable) and I had enough time for everything. I suggest to do the test exams on the official IELTS website
Hi there ! I am wondering if you can answer to my question that is related to the Listening section . Should I write answer in Caps in Computer Delivered as we do it on Paper Based exam?
Спасибо вам огромное Ася! Ваши комментарии мне очень помогли в процессе исполнения задании в части Listening, смога получить 8.5! Thank you Asiya, such a wonderful woman! Keep helping to many!
As a student of ELT and a person who will not attend the IELTS exam, I just watched this video for my final listening exam and I hope that I will pass the lesson thanks to this video. Thanks for everything.
I keep watching your videos in these last month because I need to take a placement test for my study in the UK... thank a lot for your every brilliant video, I even shared them to my friends^^ Goodluck for us!
2:08 Thank you very much for mentioning this the most important for someone like me 'to listen clearly through the headphones'. You're so right about 'clarity here'! but here at 10:25 paper Exam is safe🙂 because you can't cross out/delete your answers in Computer Exam. Thx for mentioning this and that's why everyone needs to listen till the end!🙂
I'm eternally thankful to you for making things easier for me by presenting simplified ideas. It's been a great challenge for me as a student of English language and literature. Even though I'm pretty good at listening, I'm still not able to make use of the time accordingly. However, I'm satisfied that your lesson has taught me a lot and it could do a lot of favor in my upcoming listening test at my university
Hi, I am soo glad that I found your channel. Just got my ielts result and got 7 overall, with your help I was able to score 8 in listening THANK U SOOO MUCH.
Wow congratulations :) I would really appreciate if you could share wether you took the academic version of the test and whether you took it in your own country? Many thanks ❤
I would like to know, as a non-native speaker, if you can understand the whole script. I think I can understand around 90%, but I could only get 7 -7.5, which is really frustrating.
I understand everything and never got 9 on mock tests, only 8 to 8.5. In my first try on the real test I got 9 but I was lucky. Most of the listening part was a guy speaking slowly in an accent that I'm familiar with. The questions were also very easy and I was familiar even with the street name they spelled.
Wow congratulations :) I would really appreciate if you could share wether you took the academic version of the test and whether you took it in your own country? Many thanks ❤
I rarely leave any comments, but I just had to for you. I was really confused on what to do and what not for the listening section, but your tips made it so easy! I have to say thank you. I scored exactly like you said in this video, 9 in Listening!
@@yerzhanaisayev7298 I couldn't say precisely. But for listening, I did practice on youtube and did about 10 test in total. I usually get 30+ in the practice tests. If you could get the same marks, I'm sure listening would not be a problem.
After watch your teaching skill I really love to listening skill in IELTS, before I hate it, did not find true answers. And your voise is also pretty. Thanks a lot. You are the best teacher in IELTS, which I know
To get band 9 on listening you need luck, really. Those are my scores so far: Listening - 9 Reading - 8.5 Writing - 6.5 Speaking - 7 Overall - 8 My listening test was mostly a guy speaking slowly in a familiar southern american accent (which is hard most people). I was familiar with the street name they spelled and even with the subject of the lecture in section 3. I was really lucky. To have an idea, I struggle to understand even the accent in this video.
I have a concentration problem, this makes me feel nervous after seeing my results. In the middle of the listening i can't understand what speaker talks about, like i find myself thinking about other issues
Thank you very much for the tips. If possible, please use dedicated microphone on you future videos. It will greatly help.(reduced room echo, clearer speech) Clip on microphone type should suit your video format.
I took the test October last year and scored an overall CLB 10. Believe me, the test isn't difficult at all assuming you have a basic understanding of english. Just keep practicing mock tests and you'll be fine.
Hi just want to say thank you very much for the tips in your video. I got band 9 for my listening skills thanks to your helpful strategies! I watched your other videos they are very helpful- band 8.5 overall for me 😊 thanks again
