#ielts #ieltsspeaking Let's study with @ieltsenglishacademy Today's video is IELTS Speaking Mock Test scored 7.0 with the commentary. 00:00 Part 1 03:54 Part 2 06:20 Part 3 09:42 Feedback
Here is the part 2 Topic of this exam . Describe a popular / well-known person in your country You should say Who this person is What he/she has done Why he/she is popular and explain how you feel about this person
The test itself is pratically rigged tbh cause its just so damn hard to get 8 or 9 as a native speaker for the speaking aspect of the test. The majority of people who take the test including natives usually get 7 or 7.5.
I thought she deserved 6.0-6.5, not more.. because she didn't speak English much better than me, but maybe this is because I improved my English being in USA. I don't know honestly
She definitely deserves a higher band for sure. I got a band 8.5 for my speaking section I would say she's somewhere between 7.5 - 8.0, closer to a band 8.0
hahaha thats what I said to myself she deserves a 7.5-8.0 lol....again this is a mock test anyways but I always tell my students we are all human, including examiners. One never knows, the examiner may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed...strange scoring for sure. I've been watching these videos back to back for the last 2 hours....questionable scoring!!! Just my opinion. BTW they are more than likely doing this to get views, this is RU-vid....
i've watched 20+ clips of ielts speaking test and I can only agree if she is at 8.5-9, she doesnt drift too far from the qns, answered it well, and close to perfect pronounciation (i've seen bands 9 making more mistakes than she did), would be great if u could point out why she is only an 8 on ur scale
@@Yuyukatanz Ok, it is not a correct way to score someone, but what I did is just wrote this comment after the part 1. Then, I acknowledged that her score might be responsible for some reasons which situated further: * She had been discussing for about 1:30 mins in part 2, which is not recommended. And by the way, I have no clue what the real question was. I guess - "Discribe a local celebrity that you know" * Then, I captured the moment when her score from 8 went down to 7. It was her entire part 3. She could perform a bit better and then be proud of her 7.5-8.0, but the 3rd part, was her the worst one out of 3. --- Therefore now, I can lean towards 7 as her score. Overall, it was impressive and she has to keep going, I feel like she can get 8 in/at/on next try
@@Yuyukatanz I don’t usually comment on youtube but hi! I The interviewer actually told me I would be around band 8.5-9.0 when we filmed. I think that part was edited out and was reevaluated due to my lack of eloquence in part 3. (The questions sort of threw me off guard because they seemed a little vague on the premise, which the interviewer briefly mentions in the feedback, but that might be because I wasn’t very familiar with the format/approach of IELTS.) Now that I look into the criteria I can see why I got a 7.0, but I really hope this doesn’t discourage you in your studies.
@@iamalexakim Thank you for your kind words! but tbh I still don't think you deserve a band 7 in this performance. You were clearly having content-related problems not language-wise, and you managed to speak at length in the end, like this is how native speakers (aka normal humans) talk. Sorry if I was being too aggressive, I just have a really strong opinion about this😅
@@Yuyukatanzno apologies necessary! I definitely agree with what you had to say, but at the same time I guess it would be impossible to grade language proficiency otherwise. 😂
Thank you for your mock tests. It is helpful for me to get 6.5 in IELTS speaking last December ^^ Thank the team and happy new year to all of you guys ^^
I think she deserves more than a 7.0 band score as her fluency is very good, prompt, with no hesitation in between, good command of grammar, and pronunciation. She must get a band score of 8.0
Wow. I don't know anything about these IELTS exams or what the different levels are, but to me, she sounds like a native English speaker. No accent, and her speech flows naturally. Sometimes she's at a loss for words, but I would expect that of even native speakers being asked tough questions.
@@franklinamuzie9923 very good ,, dont be scared from the unknown .. because scary and stressm is all an illusion and it will only lead you to negative result .. prepare well and the be confidence and good luck for you
The 7.0 is clearly a mistake. She is off the charts somewhere above 9.0. Her English is almost indistinguishable from that of an educated native speaker.
well, she made a good speech, confidently and naturally speaking, however there are some grammatical mistakes and her answers aren't good because they were overgeneralized and lack details. Her first part was perfect but the other two parts shouldn't be that short and shallow.
I’m taking the exam after one week in this IELTS centre. I became a little nervous after watching this video cuz I was hoping for a higher score but now I know that I’m not getting my desired score 😅
@@mzahirrahmani My overall score was 6.5 I took the test without any preparation btw I saw this examiner in elevator. There was also another old man who was my examiner.
I got 7.5 but I need to admit that she is way better than me. Even she failed some of the criteria in this test ( like some said ) but I believe that she could get an 8-8.5 easily with some minor adjustments.
I don’t think she deserves a 7.0, rather she will get more than 7.5. Recently one of my friends has taken the test and score he got for speaking was 7.5 whose speaking wasn’t as fluent as hers!
I start to panic right now, if this really is the standard of a band seven I could have failed when I look back to myself🥶 She deserves way better then just merely a band seven 🙈
According to the feedback she got, the only area for improvement was part3 to be a little longer. But the score is too harsh to accept. Wouldn't you just miswrite the number on the title?
I watched the Part 3, although the answers were kind of short I still don't get the score, her fluency was probably above 75 words per minute (6.5 - 7 for fluency), and the other metrics were very good as well. I guess they typed in 7 due to SEO purposes, who knows
The only reason i could figure out is that her part3 answers are all too short and not thought-provoking. But other than that, i could hardly think out any ideas why would her, being such an excellent user on English, receive only band 7.
To use this an an example of a mock speaking scenario is actually shocking. Across the entire marking spectrum her skills were clearly above a 7. This mock scenario provides a misleading picture of ‘what good’ looks like.
Don't know why she's just got 7. As far as I can tell, in part III she did hesitate a little bit, but ultimately, getting 7.5, I suppose which is not a big deal for her. All in all, I think she can get a band 7.5 AT LEAST.
Oh~ I see. I watched it second times in minute detail, I found in part 3 she didn't really expand her answer, however, I suppose she could have a band 7.5 but 7 is a fair score.
What the mark? Her English is off the chart, she might lose a few point at not to paraphrase the question and pausing a little bit for thinking of the idea, she didnt hesitate to correct herself. Other criterias were perfect, if I didn't watch the video, I'd think her like a native speaker. In my opinion, she deserves 8-8.5.
Can somebody tell me what's going on about the scoring? He said she did a very good job but she only got 7.0? Just only in part3 examination with her answer was not approaching to the question?
I'd appreciate if you could correct this sentence grammatically and semantically.yes I do.naturally after graduation everyone desires to be employed in a company or organization and have a position related to the major which graduated in.and I'm one of them as well.currently I'm doing as English tutor and I'm preparing myself to take the recruitment exam to be employed as an English teacher in a public school
i wouldn’t personally say that’s an issue… she just wants to start off on a positive and friendly note with the examiner i think. overall, even part 1 was great, but i agree with you that the rest of the test was just excellent… she definitely deserves a higher score
