It’s kind of frustrating to watch that participants who got a high score often have experiences of living in countries where english is the first language. It would be great to see a participant without any experience of living abroad.
IELTS daily has videos of band 8.5 and 9 mock tests from non-native English speakers with foreign accents. Since the candidate in this video is pretty much a native English speaker she would have gotten 9 in a real test. All her mistakes would be common for native English speakers as well ("offline shopping mall" is typical Gen Z talk, "I shipped it" instead of "I had it shipped" is very common inaccuracy)
she is from korea where english is not the first language. Plus, she also makes some mistakes. It's just her pronunciation and fluency that make you feel like she's a native person.
