Hey guys I got a 9 band in speaking and 8.5 overall. Prepared for the speaking section with you guys so a big thank you to everyone at the IELTS daily team. 🎉
I got band 8 on speaking test. I'm so happy. I thank you so much for these free lectures you are an incredible human beeing. I can not thank you enough.
Hey guys.congratulate me 🎉🎉. I got my rusult just now and I am over the moon.I got overall 8.5 (L:9, R:9,W:7.5,S:9.) And what is interesting is that I am just 15 years old.I have used the videos in the youtube channel of IELTS daily to prepare for my exam and recommend it for every student who is in the path studying english as well as IELTS.
It really helped me a lot to see how an English speaker's pronunciation, intonation and rhythm flow throughout the conversation. It was very kind of you to share this kind of content. A million thanks.
Hey IELTS Daily, big thanks to all of you. I got my results 2 days ago and I scored 7.5 in Speaking without anyone to practice with but mainly by just watching all of your mock test. You guys are awesome in anyway! Btw my overall score is also 7.5. Keep posting great contents for future test candidates!
IELTS daily videos always gave me a lot of motivation and confidence to speak, I've been watching these mock tests videos from the last couple of days and it has affected and improved my speaking skills a lot. I'm having my speaking test day after tomorrow and I'm feeling pretty confident and motivated .HUGE THANKS 🎉
My aim is getting a band 7 on each part and what I’ ve learnt from Julia is about being confident and try to be composed although you don’t know much about the topic or maybe you don’t like it . I really love her auzzi accent ❤. I also ,was impressed about her use of a simple vocabulary , very very nice 🤗 You should make many mock tests with her , it is pleasant to watch and to learn as well 🤗
Even though, she's a native speaker I can still hear a hesitation in her voice and mistake making, but overall she did brilliantly! I'm also thinking about taking IELTS or CAE soon and I already know where I'll get my preparation materials from! Thank you for posting such videos! ❤❤
Dear IELTSDaily team, I wanted to sincerely thank you for the content you're offering to IELTS aspirants! It helped me tremendously in gaining confidence and I didn't need anything else to prepare for the test. The videos with native speakers in particular helped me understand that it's not just about using fancy idioms etc., but about speaking naturally and casually. This really made a huge difference for me! I only needed a band 5 overall and scored 9/9/8/8 with a 9 for speaking so that's definitely partly up to you (and my gorgeous examiner who created a super pleasant atmosphere). ;-) Keep up the good work!
Wow. Amazing work. So pleased to hear you did so well. If you want to come and share your experience on our Live class on Wednesday, please email teacher@ielts-daily.com
I learnt about how she elaborate her answers, she started from show her point clearly and represent detail answer to public in order to anyone can imagine based on her answer
Julia has great and very nice answers! Her answers are intelligent and non-standard + a lot of complex grammar fram native speaker. Especially, I Iike these phrases: flows from on the idea be on the same page to the best of my mind
I am from Vietnam but now I live in Sweden for 12 years. I want to take IELTS test this or next year. I want to have a perfect profile to find job. I see your channel for the first time 😊
Not gonna lie, I'd stayed in Australia for 10 years and I spoke as fluent as Julia for my speaking test but I only got a 7 for my speaking and a 7.5 for writing.
Thanks for posting this video IELTS daily, listening to Julia really helped me improve my English vocabulary and my concept of English in general, so i would like to also thank Julia too, she has a great future ahead of her🙌❤
unfortunately, as an IELTS instructor with over 6 years of teaching experience I can assure you that a non-native speakier with the same performance shown on the video will highly likely get no higher than an 8. For example,I think I did much better just two weeks ago in the speaking portion of my ILETS exam but my score was an 8 for speaking and one of my students also took the exam on the same day and and got the same 8. I am not sure what criteria our examiners used [both were natives] and what they looked for and the only explanation for the score I got was that alomst all examiners are biased and have preferences in terms of language that candidates use. This was not the first time it happened and I guess not the last one, as well (( I just want eveyone to have realistic expectations and know that as a non-native you would probably get a lower score if you used the same language and grammatical structures as the girl in the video did LET'S JUST BE REALISTIC - i am sorry, but this is the harsh reality i have to deal with (( i only hope that in the future IELTS will eventually have some objective sets of criteria that they will use to assess candidates' speaking and writing ))
Since you are talking about the use of connectives, the reason she can't get a 9 in FC is that she used "so" too many times. She only got 8 in FC which made her final score 8.5 instead of 9.
I am from Turkey, I enjoyed so much while I was watching her and I reminded that I 'm really getting my self in an unnatural speaking style while I 'm talking.
I installed daily ielts. This app very useful. I recommend everyone to download this app. I really liked. Thank u very much. It's very informative❤️❤️❤️
Really nice video..I learnt a lots of things from this video.❤❤ J believe in my self one day I will achieve 8.0 band in speaking with the help of yours videos.❤❤❤
My prayers go for this girl, i can't imagine how horribly difficult is to even think about learning English when you're an aussie. I wouldn't think there's people on that continent capable of speaking English so well, this poor soul must've been going through a lot to achieve these results.😢
Hello sir ,any difference between academic and general speaking test because I am taking classes for ielts academic and they told me to use compound complex and not to use single word and use synonym.
3:47 The subtile for the question misspells, reading “Would you like to live some different?”, which should be corrected to “Would you like to live somewhere different?”.
Hey I’ve been watching Ielts daily videos for a long time, I never went to any english courses, I can speak with myself, am trying to think in English to get used to speak only in English. But I just got no friend who knows English. What kinda advice would u give me??
In my country a lot of IELTS teachers are telling us that we need to paraphrase the questions, we can't repeat them in our answers. Is it neccessary to do so? because I could actually see that Julia did used the similar words from the questions.
I would like to ask something .Yesterday was my exam and in reading section l was running out of time and had to write T/F/N for True/False/Not given questions. Will they be counted as right answers or did l have to write with full words. Please say it is acceptable😢
I'm going to take my speaking test next Thursday and reading, listening and writing on 29th. Wish me luck guys. Edit: My dunba** wrote True Flase in a Yes No question 🫠
@@IELTSDaily got my results today I got overall 7.5(L:8.5, R:8, W:6.5, S:6.5) and I'm quite satisfied with the results considering that I made 3 mistakes in Reading (I answered True False in Yes No questions and I was lucky there were 2 not given answers)
fantastics performance really. I am picking up en and fr that i didnt speak for quite a while, and i find theres quite a gap between my language and that of Julia. Well Id say that I cannt even organise sth as good in my mother language haha, donno if i can be useful for the world...
In some countries, the examiner is not even wait until you finished your answers and even cut you off several times during part 1 and 3 or not give you some seconds to think about your answers. So yeah the real IELTS speaking test is a scam 😅 I will personally never take another test at IDP.
Hi there, I was wondering what’s wrong with memorizing words and phrases? How can memorizing words and phrases negatively affect your score if you can speak smoothly and naturally with those memorized words and phrases or even sentences? In fact, isn’t memorizing words and phrases a natural way of learning a language? Imagine when you were a kid, didn’t you learn to speak your native language by memorizing and imitating the words you heard from your parents, and your speaking skill gradually improved over time?
Great question. Our experience shows that many people memorise phrases ans use them artificially. I think our point is not to memorise them to forcibly use them, rather to learn language in context and use as and when naturally.
I apologize for expressing my opinion, but I believe the examiner may have been biased towards the candidate's native speaker status. If a non-native speaker were to employ the same speech connectors and a typical vocabulary, they would likely not receive a score of 9. I disagree with the awarding of a band 9 and feel that the evaluation lacks precision. She didn't even utilize different words, as suggested by various instructional videos. Instead, she relied on the same vocabulary and connectors throughout
Hi Ricardo. Good feedback. There are a lot of myths on the internet about what constitutes a good score. The exam requires you to speak at length naturally, and that's what Julia did.
i got 4.5 and i study english with person from my country actually kazakhs teacher haha i don't no when i speak very well maybe after year so you see my english 😅
HKDSE is different from IELTS since in Dse you are not able to use simple vocabulary and simple point without elaboration. The majar problem is the individuals who have a short stop for thinking or not flawless get a low score.
I feel myself hesitated when i have to speak the answer is ready in my mind bu when its time to speak it should be difficult What should i do to improve
I reckon the examiner whose name is Lar may be Indian.Because his accent sounds like Indian.I have paid attention on his speech and the way he spoke was really kind of Indian. But there is something which i can't figure out, that is how he can be like American in appearance. The way he speaks is really natural. And i'd say that if i didn't see him physically then i would say he is definitely American but at the point which he started to speak,i thought his accent is a bit like Indian accent.I really have some strong doubts about his nationality.Nonetheless,i should say his nationality is not matter at all because he seems to be a great man. These words of mine just comes out of my curiosity
she's from Au which is English native country but for me it doesn't make sense that Native speaker takes test for their native language. Does anyone know why and how it works?
