Not only are you listening to people having a conversation about fascinating subjects (hence improving your knowledge & listening skills), but you’re also enriching your vocabulary and speaking skills. For writing, I’d recommend following the examples shown on this channel and getting a general idea of what is expected in terms of content. All the best for your exam!
Given IELTS Computer AC test on 30-oct-2023. L: 7.5 R: 7.5 W: 7 S: 7 PREP TIME: 7 - 10 days Practiced speaking one day before exam. Any improvements I personally felt? - Learn from one resource (I followed 2-3 for same topic) - Practice exact exam like format before going to test. (Atleast 3 IMO) - Focus more on part 2 in L and R. - Work on punctuation in writing - Time management in writing - LITERALLY IMPROVE FOCUS IN L BECAUSE I MISSED 3-5 marks for loosing focus during part 2 ( I hate this one) - Maybe use more descriptive and expressive words in Speaking(IMO not sure from examiner pov) If anyone wants to prep for IELTS I find IELTS ADV very helpful. WHY? Because he is the only one who explained with proof about what the examiner looks for in candidate.

I took my test on 22nd October and got my results after 3 days. However, I wasn't satisfied with my writing score and applied for EOR. Just got my results. My writing score has increased. Overall 7.5 Bands now. Your RU-vid channel really helped me. Thank you, Chris.

I've just received my score today. I got an overall 8, L: 8.5, R: 9, W: 7, S: 6.5. I'm a bit disappointed about my speaking score but the others are good, especially I manage to get a 7 in writing despite the fact that I didn't finish task 1 since I spent only the last 10 mins on it. @@Ben_Stok on part 1 I had 3 pie charts that showed how much hours different types of workers spent working. On part 2 I had a question like “ should teenagers study all of the subjects in school or focus on the ones they prefer” tbh I think my essay was sub par, I couldn’t really think of good arguments and just tried to stick to the structure they give on this channel as much as I could. I think I had 310 words. I was very surprised that I got a 7 for writing, I expected to get much lower, but I think the structure sealed the deal

Actually, her pronunciation may sound relatively good but there were some words that were accentuated inappropriately according to my view so her pronunciation can still be improved if she works harder on some native English pronunciation!!
It’s not really about sounding like a ‘native’ speaker. That’s a trap a lot of students, and teachers, fall into. It’s about making your own accent as clear as possible.

I thought every person who mentioned IELTS Advantage in their IELTS advice could be paid advertisers for this channel, but it turned out I was wrong. I read some articles regarding writing tasks from your website the night before I took the exam and ended up getting a band 7 in writing. I hadn't written anything about IELTS writing task before the test (which is not a good example lol), yet your simple but sufficient suggestions helped me achieve a good score easily. Thank you Chris for giving out so many amazing materials for free, you are the IELTS Jesus! (For any learners I'm not saying the articles are magics that make your English improve automatically, but as long as you keep practicing your English skills beyond the scope of test gimmicks until you have a decent level of the language, the advice from IELTS Advantage can be extremely helpful specifically for IELTS)

She did eventually get a Band 9, but I think it’s important that people see that small errors can lead to lower scores than they were expecting. It’s also good to see that a ‘Band 9’ student can have a ‘bad’ day.
Nah dude , Getting 9 in IELTS speaking requires you to meet some of the need , although I totally agree her confidence but still she might missed some of them ,according to me I've watched plenty of video about IELTS speaking
No way she could get a 9 based on this performance. Her pronunciation alone was already a decent detractor. She kept pronouncing the TH sound as if it was a T and she also rolled her R like in Indian.
Finally, I received my results: R 7, L 7, S 7, W 6.5, overall 7. I've not taken the IELTS test, but from the instructions and the nature of the test, I think it's a FAKE test because it puts you in challenging and a stressful status, unlike the normal status of practicing the English language, you pay money and you are limited to a tight period of time. The listening test for example is fake because, unlike most real situations, you have to listen, read and write at the same time. Also, mostly in live situations, you communicate with people face-to-face and you can predict some words from their gestures and body language. In addition, many times you lose focus for a moment and ask to repeat what has been already said. Sorry, but I think the main aim of this test is to collect money.
