I attempted a nuzlocke of a Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen romhack called Pokémon Sweet and if a Pokémon dies in the game...I eat it? Well, let's just hope my dentist doesn't see this one!

The type chart in this game really bothers me. Instead of so many fruit types, which I feel are often redundant, there should be a cake type, a frozen type, a mint type, etc. Other than that, I really love most of the designs and stuff :)

This game is how I learned that different countries have different "default" candy flavors. I've never had grape flavored anything before (unless you count grapes... or wine), so I was extremely confused abozt why it's in the game, but apparently it's a thing in the US. If this game had been made in Japanor Europe, the type chart woukd look very different.

Fun fact: Post-game of Pokemon Sweet includes 3 Champions from other regions and... They have quite the themes- 1.) Daisy has essentially Pokemon but as babies... Not like Pichu or Togepi, but fully evolved Pokemon (ex. Roserade) all wearing diapers 2.) Adder has Pokemon as clowns (though his Kangaskhan clown is also wearing a diaper) 3.) Jake, my personal favorite, has Pokemon as instruments (special mention to Cresselia with an ocarina body) Oh, and they're all Vanilla-type~.

It's sounds more like a psychological punishment. Imagine seeing your companion, who was by your side all the time, die and then you had to eat the only reminder of that existence like you eat his corpse. Plus to much sweet, if too many faint, can cause Toothache and stomach problems.

in munching orange's OLD OLD nuzlocke of this game he actually had an idea simiiar to this in one of the last episodes where he offhandendly mentioned a video idea he had where he'd eat all his dead team members in a bonus video. i rememebr reallly loving that idea and being a bit disapointed when it never came. thanks for livng out this childhood dream

I mean, Wilfred's not wrong to say that these candies stunt their growth. Stuffing your mons full of Rare Candies means they're building up less EVs and thus will end up statistically weaker in the long term than something that didn't die throughout many "monotonous level grinding" sessions.

It's a good pokemon, but its home region does it no favors. Flying, bug, steel, ice gyms. And all the poison Team Rocket uses, the deck is stacked against it.

@@Zthewise To be fair though a lot of that can be made much easier with how very early on you can get Geodude and Mareep (or at least Onix as a placeholder tank for the first two or three gyms until you get teammates that can pick up the pace better), and they're common enough that it takes an edge off in nuzlockes. Plus, it's actually REALLY good against Whitney given it gets Reflect super early.

the greatest flaw with Chikorita is the fact that Johto's first gyms are flying and bug. Personally, I love the Chikorita line, Bayleaf is actually my favorite of the 9 starter forms in Johto (if that sentence made any sense)

in pokemon dppl/bdsp, there's a book in the library that talks about picking a pokemon's bones clean and thanking it for the meal it prepared. i think legends pays homage to some of the books in the library too but i havent finished legends so not sure. it's something i discovered as a kid reading every single story in the library. the more you know!

This was one hell of a video to watch. I can never get into Nuzlocking, but you make it seem real easy yet challenging, and the idea of eating your pokesweets was a nice addition to that Nuzlocke! Your sister is an amazing sweets decorator. Also, I really love sweets and seeing Chocobun made my neuron click inside of me. I love Lopunny as a Pokemon and she is super cute in the rom!

There's a few sprites/designs in here that are genuinely so good that it makes me want to play it myself... (Like that Umbreon? So cute!!!) but then I remember everything else and decide, nah, I'm good XD Honestly, I'd love to see this get a remake at some point with better sprites, story, world building, and of course mechanics. I can’t believe some people still think people don’t eat Pokémon.. it’s been confirmed in both the games and the anime many, many times. And yet some people either wonder if it’s true or flat out refuse to believe it even thought it’s very much cannon! It baffles me, quite honestly. Even without the sheer amount of evidence and the fact that it’s been CONFIRMED, from a logical standpoint it just seems the most likely! I just can’t wrap my head around how people don’t believe this, or question its cannonicity. I am truly and utterly, as usual, baffled by this fandom.

That first line has gotten answered. We do eat certain pokemon. In one of the descriptions of Magikarp, it says it's too boney to eat, meaning we do eat others
