Pick your self up and try again! If you like a final girl forged from second, third, and fourth chances, then you'll love this full movie reaction to Happy Death Day!
@@dusthymn8187 I really hope another Happy Death Day film gets released, I love the franchise so much and Jessica is like the perfect person for it as well. Shes funny, and talented. Im glad its the top as well.
I first saw her in the onion video "Missing Girls Friends Plead For Her Release". She was already a great actor then, and got even better with happy death day
It was really fun to subvert the "good girl" final girl trope. Tree is so unlikable in the beginning of the films, and her transformation throughout the film felt very natural and unforced. The sequel is also surprisingly good, so definitely looking forward to your reaction to it!
Agreed, this is genuinely, somehow, a _joyful_ slasher movie. A friend recommended this in the best way. Basically they said "Don't go to IMDB, don't even read the blurb, just watch it - you're gonna have a good time" so I went in totally clean and it was such a fun, surprising blast of a movie.
What I genuinely appreciated about this movie was how the protagonist was first presented as unapologetically unlikable. Until, we get to know her better as her defensive layers are peeled away by this insane experience
Happy Death Day is literally one of my favorite horror movies. I feel like people don't talk about it enough. Also Tree deserves some props for being THAT final girl. Definitely watch the sequel! Such an iconic movie.
"Oh she decided to live this time?!? I like that!!" "I'm just an age appropriate love intrest! Get away from me you freak!!" "I love, love ya'll!!" So do I! Soo much fun! Great reaction! Great content! Can't wait for the sequel!!!
Girl whoever voted for Terrifier really wants to see you suffer i'm so sorry that had even a chance of winning 💀 Anyways this film is so fun and i'm so glad it won and you got to react to it😁 the best part is that the sequel is just as good if not better! Answers a lot of questions, can't wait to experience that again with you!!
The sequel to this one was actually really good. I love this one! I cannot believe the evil in those souls who suggested Terrifier, lol. There's a death, which I won't recount, that still lives in my brain and will remain until my own death.
I've watched it and it really isn't that bad as people say it is. I think it's the general thought and idea of some of the kills that bothers people. the actual practical effects and gore look extremely fake which is why it didn't really bother me too much. don't get me wrong, It's one of the goriest slashers I've seen, but if you watch a lot of slashers it will not effect you that much. It's a shame if you don't watch it, there's a really good cat and mouse chase scene with one of the female characters. And apparently terrifier 2 has a really solid final girl that's pretty badass (I have yet to see it though)
She really did get funnier every time she died 😂 and sweeter! I looooved the couple as well! I was between this and Wrong Turn, and voted for the latter, but I'm actually really happy this one won! Happy spooky vibes all around! Your one-liners remain unmatched!
I absolutely *love* this movie. Tree has a great arc throughout, Carter is a peach, and the genuine mystery behind the babyface killer is actually well-done. I like that you can see the report on Tombs in the background, quietly misleading you, yet the question of "how did he have the mask when he woke up" is such a good hint at Lori, but so easy to overlook in the intensity of the moment. Tree is a great protagonist and Jessica Rothe absolutely *kills* every second she's on screen. I love some the transition back to the start of the loop, and Tree's growing feelings for Carter are both incredibly sweet and feel very natural. It doesn't take itself too seriously and lets you have some fun as it goes on. Also, I love that Tree uses the blackout to get the drop on Tombs in the hospital, and she takes advantage of his sadistic nature by acting more hurt than she is to buy time. You should definitely watch the sequel. It's not *as* good as this one, but it's a lot of fun.
ALANDA you had me giggling over how cute you are over you giggling over how cute those two in the movie where 😭💞 I'm so glad you liked this movie, the sequel is just as good!!
This and the second movie are seriously amazing. I seriously have no clue why it’s so underrated. It’s such a fun horror comedy that isn’t taking itself too seriously and has some crazy moments
Alanda, you are spoiling us! 💕 I hope you had a fabulous Halloween, darling! Happy Death Day is still one of my favourite comfort movies, it’s so dumb that it’s good 😂 Sending love from the UK, sweetness xx Edit: If you haven’t seen it already, ‘House of Wax’ is definitely a “dumb, but good” film! Y2K, Miss Paris Hilton and all our fave noughties heartthrobs ;)
I love this movie so much, it’s one of my all-time favorites. I am so glad you loved it, I’m glad I voted for it. 💖✨ I hope you enjoy the sequel and hope to see you react to it!
This is my first video of Alanda’s! I came here after Zzavid said he was a fan! When she said “I’m just an age-appropriate love interest you freak, get away from me,” was so freaking funny!
In college, the night before spring break, we started pre-gaming. Combining stuff that shouldn't be combined. I felt ok, but when I went to use the restroom, I started getting dizzy. You know how in movies they'll have a scene where the hallway or tunnel keeps getting longer? It was like that. I made it to the bathroom, but when I came out the stall, I passed out. My face slammed against the brick wall and radiator. I had a gash going from my forehead to my nose, and another one going from my nose to my chin. Thank God one of my dorm mates was in the stall beside me. I never combined substances again. 😂
The perfect way to close out my day! Watched tons of Halloween stuff today. Happy Halloween Queen! [I never would have betrayed our treasured friendship that exists only in my mind and voted for Terrifier]
I was personally appalled that anyone would think her gentle spirit could handle that! I wouldn't have been able to watch HER watching it, let alone the movie itself.
I voted for Evil Dead because those movies are so fun. The first one is scary and the practical special effects are awesome (they even use claymation for a couple scenes), the second one is more campy, and the third one (Army of Darkness) is so silly and fun. The remake is incredibly gory and bloody, you may not like that one, but definitely the first 3!! Happy Halloween Lovebug!!! 🎃
Lol I request Evil Dead for Alanda every week, love them all but specifically for the remake. I think Alanda has a much stronger fear tolerance than she gives herself credit for, but regardless I was excited it was in the poll!
Happy Death Day is a film worth watching if you just want to chill but at the same time experience the feeling of tension all at the same time. Great reaction. We all hope to see more enjoyable content.
Alanda, please watch the second one. It ties into the first quite well. Worth the watch! Edit: posted this before watching the end where you said about the sequel. Yes, let's watch together! Evil Dead, yes! Wrong Turn is alittle gory... might not be your thing. Please also watch Final Girls! It's amazing.
Girl I would have skipped that terrifier trauma train 🚂 with you. Sorry not again 😭😭💀 I’m glad the poll was addressed. I was like “how’d that get there? 😅”
YES! Please do a reaction of the sequel! It is also amazingly fun and they managed to keep it fresh. You'll really enjoy it, and we (your fans) will really enjoy seeing you have such a fun time!
A surprisingly fun movie! We saw it when the second one came out and we figured we should watch the first before we saw it. XD Fun fact: it takes place in the same universe of Freaky, and that will supposedly factor in the 3rd death day movie.
Sooo… I remember seeing the trailer (As well as some other marketing.) for this back when it first came out and thinking, “Hmm. Looks like Groundhog Day + murder. Meh. No thanks!” Now, I don’t recall how or why I ended up watching it but boy am I glad that I did as I know love it! There are just so many wonderful things about it! Speaking of some of it’s wonderful feature, while all of the actors did a great job across the board, Jessica Rothe absolutely carried this whole movie on her back! She was phenomenal! Sooo… yeah, I absolutely *love* “Happy Death Day”, and I’m _so_ glad that you did too! (I’m not surprised at all though as I can’t come up with _any_ reasons as to why you wouldn’t!)
As much as I love movie reviewers and kill counters, no other RU-vid has THIS level oh CHARISMA. Y’all can’t teach it at school. Aldana, you’re a national treasure.
In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, I will now be hitting every vid with a comment suggesting Better Watch Out. It's a fun holiday horror and I think you'll love it!
I love this film (and its sequel). I feel a connection to this film because Tree's birthday (Sept. 18th) is also my birthday. So I like watching it every year for my b-day.
I wanted to thank you for calling the 3 year ago death of her mom fresh - it's been about that long for me and nobody gets why I'm not just over it all ready....
I'm so happy about your intro lmfao you TELL EM GIRL 😂 we're not gonna let you do anything that will bring harm to you!! I'm glad you picked this one, it's one of my faves ❤️ I have to go to bed but I'll for sure watch on my lunch tomorrow!!
Finally a reaction channel reacting to Happy Death Day. I’ve been suggesting this movie to all my favorite reaction channels. I’m pretty sure I suggested it to Alanda too. Happy Death Day is kind of similar to Scream. I love the ending crediits song by Sir Sly too and the ending credits animation.
Caught this when it was airing on TV, it was about midway through and by the ending twist there was no doubt I had to rewatch the whole thing. Easily one of my favorite films of the last decade. Happy Death Day 2U isn’t a simple rehash of the first one. It gets into physics and there’s even a touching scene towards the end that made me ugly cry, a very rare thing. I hope you’ll enjoy it just as much as the first.
This movie was an instant classic for me so I'm so glad you reviewed it! Can't wait for you to do the sequel too. Anyone who recommended torture porn in Terrifier should go easy on you for a bit. They know that's not your jam!
We need a sequel reaction. One thing I would say about that one is it is more light hearted than the first❤ great video as always 😂 and happy Halloween Alanda 🎃
I voted on this one I KNEWWW this was gonna be your movie. Jessica Rothe hits this out the park as Tree and it's just so much fun for a horror movie. You HAVE to watch Happy Death Day 2U as well. A very good sequel and you'll get more Carter and Tree :) Also, you were right not to watch Terrifier. It's a grindhouse film, meaning it doesn't have a real plot or intricate characters, it focuses on gore. I watched it at 13, and after that clowns are completely phobic for me, before I was not scared of clowns. LIKEE esp cause it was during that weird time in America when clown attacks were poppin off? HELL NO. Saw a scene with a girl getting sawed in half. I understand your sisters reaction. The opps were really out here.
I definitely want you to do a first time watching reaction of the sequel. No spoilers, but there are scenes that I want to see your reaction to. Just too good to miss.
So glad you enjoyed this movie. Yet another reaction replete with hilarious one-liners from Alanda. Anaconda (1997), The Cell (2000), and Enough (2002) are JLo horror/thriller classics you will enjoy.
I knew you would enjoy this because it's got a smart "final girl" who refuses to give up and it's full of humor and craziness. Id definitely recommended the sequel as well. They found a way to do it and not make it just stock predictable, it's also an amazing time. So glad you enjoyed the movie
So glad you loved this! Jessica Rothe is a gem! I recommend her in the Valley Girl 2020 remake which is criminally underrated and a lot of fun. Also, you need to watch John Carpenter's "Christine" from 1983 about the killer car, it's one of his best and has an amazing score.
I remember first watching this and being so surprised by how fun it was. Happy Halloween Alanda 🎃 (Anyone who voted for Terrifier in the poll is dark sided 😅)
I went to see this in theaters with friends going "you know this going to be groundhog day with a Jason like twist right? Stupid" I ended up majorly enjoying it and still enjoy it to this day. It's absurd and totally stupid, but Jessica Rothe takes a character you sort of what to see die over and over and make her a hero
If anyone is curious about this, the reason Baby-face AKA Lori always knows where she Tree is it's because Tree has her Snapchat location on and since her and Lori are roommates she must have her on Snapchat, but if anyone has a better theory I am open for suggestions 😂
This movie was great! I'll let you judge the sequel. But two horror films I recommend are Ready or Not (directed by the team behind Scream 5), and Cabin In The Woods. Love your channel, dear! Still my favorite reactor.
Jessica Rothe did such a great job in her role here. Hope she gets more movie roles. She has the potential of becoming one of Hollywood's most in demand actresses
I was impressed by this movie too... Tbh I wasn't expecting much, so I was really happy when I realized it was such an enjoyable movie. Of course we want to see your reaction to the sequel! Come on now 😂 Already looking forward to it.
The first time I saw this film I had the exact same reaction you did when Tree tells Danielle that if she lives through the day, she's gonna have Carter's babies🤭🤭🤭 The sequel is really good too I can't wait for your reaction for that one
Alanda PLEASE make a reaction to the second one! I watched these two in the theater when they came out, and the second one was even funnier AND sadder at the same time! Carter has to be the cutest and most loyal main love interest in a horror movie ever. Also, I just realized Christopher Landon wrote Disturbia (2007) which makes sense because this movie reminded me a lot of that one lol. Similar tones, and main couple + the friend. If anyone's looking for a similar movie to this (main character keeps dying), but with more of a video game theme (and also a lot more scarier and dark), there's an indian movie called "Game Over" that came out in 2019 and I 100% recommend it
I don't understand when Women say "This Guy is a Creep" for example the Dancing Guy. I mean yeah he is weird but then Women say Man are "pervert" but if a Woman is kinda the same no one says anything because yeah the Guys like that still in my opinion it is Sexism.
when I saw terrified was an option I was shocked, im so glad you didn't watch it. I couldn't get through the second one, and ive never had to tap out of a horror before. So happy for the good vibes thank you for the content angel!!!
Definitely adding to the choir voting for a reaction to HAPPY DEATH DAY 2U. It's such a clever sequel and avoids getting bogged down by the time loop premise. It's actually funnier (IMO) and definitely more emotional. It also pivots genres, incorporating some sci-fi elements.
Throughout Tree’s life-or-death struggle for survival, she matures, and has a more brighter and positive view of life, and especially her own livelihood too. The concept that’s not just about deja vu (Groundhog Day - overall, the whole time loop concept) but also a full, consistent redemption arc through her having to become a fearless survivor and fighter to officially defeat Babyface, along with improved intelligence, determination, gaining the will to live, and striving for forgiveness in all her heart and soul (this is such a tremendous journey of a coming-of-age character development), and in this context, Tree transformed from a depressing and arrogant female to someone with a majority of the positive human qualities, such as her being someone who became wholehearted and cultivated and instilled the humanity, colourfulness, good-nature and emotions within her that was blocked out and she was devoid of before the life-changing event. For movies, this premise is my all-time personally greatest concept ever thought of, and I cherish it - which is why this movie is in my top 10 greatest movies of all time, if not top 5! This had led her to becoming someone undeniably, without a doubt, with all redeeming attributes, worthy of love, trust, honour, life, respect, community, etc. Not only does she have a changed outlook on life and wants to openly and freely live her life to the fullest with the people she really truly cares about, she is also very knowledgeable about the arts of battle as she has been in 1 supposedly endless cycle of it herself with a nightmare. If I can take 2 life lessons away from the 2017 movie, not the 2019 one (which kind of bored me out despite it being action-packed just like the first movie was, because Tree had already conquered the darkness that had been consuming her mentality and sympathy and/or empathy by the end of the 2017 movie (and now she looks forward to hanging out with people and sharing her adventurous life with them), there wasn’t much to look forward to afterwards), it would be that people should learn from their failures and always move forward and never give up, fall down or turn back (and do this to become a better version of yourself so that your fearful past will not catch up to you), and that you are all stronger than you believe yourselves to be - that you can certainly overcome your fears and demons, even create a sustainably successful future, with enough determination and passion, and by striving for victory and channeling in your inner warrior spirit. It’s time to take back your right to live your own life by breaking your shackles, and fight to become unstoppable champions - overcome and conquer the darkness, and fill up that dark, empty void, within you!
This is one of my favorite movies and I honestly think I like the second one just as much. With it leaving on a cliffhanger I really hope they make a third. Also Jessica Rothe is such a good actress. That skit she did about being interviewed for her missing friend is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
This movie was so much fun! I loved it when I saw it too! How you go from hating her to loving her and rooting for her! And then the twist at the end. The sequel is great as well! It's even crazier than this one! Can't wait to watch your reaction to that one! I hope it's soon since this one will still be fresh in your mind!
I just watched this for the first time too, and it was so fun. Jessica Rothe is a star! She should be getting more roles for sure. I’m excited to watch the sequel, and can’t wait for your reaction to it (assuming you do one).
I'm just rewatching all your videos until Hereditary comes through. That movie reestablished my love for horror/thrillers what a banger and Toni Collette woooo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
