If Bowser Was Charged For His Crimes 

The amount of times peach yelled "MARIO" is so funny considering it's more than the amount of times Bowser committed war crimes

I find it funny that Bowser only gets a restraining order after 23 kidnappings.

Three big things I noticed that were missed. - In the first game, Bowser turns most of the toads into bricks, which could range from mass mutilation, to genocide if they died from the transformation. - As stated in Super Mario World, the Yoshis found throughout the levels where put there forcefully by Bowser after being stuffed into eggs. Mass kidnapping. - We’ve seen from Paper Mario and the Mario Movie that Bob-ombs are sentient beings with intelligence and emotions. We can also see from various cannons, dispensers, and pipes spread across the Mario universe that Bob-ombs are most likely manufactured by Bowser. This means that Bowser deliberately manufactures and deploys an entire race of sentient beings with the intent that they die in an attempt to blow up Mario. Don’t know what charge that would be, but I’m guessing a death sentence. This also applies to any game where Bullet Bills detonate after a short time.

Technically since Bowser is the leader of a militaristic kingdom, assuming there is a formal declaration of war, most of these "crimes" are allowed wartime activities. As for the war crimes... it really depends. In Super Mario Galaxy, many toads were shown carrying weapons so it could be argued to be a valid military target if brought to a court of international law. It might be a stretch but people have got away with far greater acts of destruction on non-military targets. The new galaxy thing is a bit weirder, and I don't think we have any applicable laws.

A few things forgotten: 1. Grand Larceny charges in Mario Odyssey for stealing the valuables of each of the kingdoms 2. Regular 3D world was not counted, the goop only applied to Bowser’s Fury

I love how compared to the movie villains you covered, Bowser got the simplest charges to research, but the hardest punishment... Literally 500 years and multiple death sentences.

The fact that several things were still missed, like in Super Mario Bros., how he turned the Toads into bricks, yet he still has that large of a sentence is awesome.

Funnily enough, due to the nature of Mario's universe (extra lives, and the abundance of solid gold coins everywhere), bowser is probably one of the few villains out there who could serve out all of his charges shown hete.

personally I think most of the assaults you've mentioned is more like self defense since Mario is the one that trespassed and invaded his private property. but maybe it worked differently because Mario is trying to stop the kidnapping

A few things that I think should be brought up: - The instruction manual for Super Mario Bros 1 states that Bowser used black magic to turn the residents of the Mushroom Kingdom into stone, bricks, and horsehair plants, so that'll probably be Mass Mutilation. - The first seven Bowsers in Super Mario Bros 1 & the first two Bowsers in Super Mario 3D Land are just regular enemies disguised as Bowser, so I think Bowser would only get charged for the final encounters against him in both games. - You missed all of 3D World and just did Bowser's Fury instead. (Kidnapping x7, Reckless Driving x2, Aggravated Assault x3, First Degree Murder) - Also I feel like the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario games should count in a way.

If Bowser was charged for his crimes, he would receive 100 lifetimes and he would find a way to get out, kidnap Peach & mock Mario and Luigi

Some of the stuff that was missed aside, I do like the idea of us finally talking about video game villains. And if we're doing that, then we desperately need to see "If Ace Attorney Villains Were Charged For Their Crimes". Awkward title because they actually were, but it would be great to see.

I would love to see one of these for Ganondorf/Ganon just to see how long the sentence would be. And now would be a great time as the new Zelda game just came out.

The absolute field day this dude would have with Dr. Eggman

For the new super mario bros kidnapping charge, there's a small note: It's Bowser Jr. Who does it, not the koopa king himself. At worst, he'd get a conspiracy charge, as it is implied he got Jr to commit the kidnapping, but Jr. would get sentenced to a juvenile detention centre for the crime, and Bowser would likely get a visit from CPS about how he's treating his kids

Actually, the first 7 Bowser fights in the original Super Mario Bros were just his minions in disguise. So Bowser would only get 1 count of aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for that game. The same applies with the first 2 Bowser fights of Super Mario 3D Land, which would mean that Bowser would only get 2 charges of aggravated assault and arson for that game, because there are 2 fights with the real Bowser. Also, in the main game of 3D World, he's guilty of several charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, and possible murder.

There's been some things I could argue, primarily about the extras. Most of the extras are the potential for him to kill the same person (Mario) and you can't really kill someone more than once (And if Mario losing a life counts as killing him, you'd have to calculate the max amount of lives Mario could die to Bowser with, which is essentially infinite.) On top of that, you can play some of these games co-op and Bowser can potentially kill everyone else that joins in co-op too. A lot more of the Bowser fights could also be considered -kidnapping- false imprisonment and/or attempted murder, as during a good portion of them he's seemingly waiting for/approaches Mario and then proceeds to trap him in the room with him before attacking him. Mario, Luigi and other characters could also be potentially considered law enforcement, since they're at around the same level of authority as any of the toad guards you see in the series and seemingly face no punishment for breaking into any of Bowser's castles or other property, which means extra punishment for doing things to them and adds in things like obstruction of justice. - And lastly, there's still other things to cover, like some of the Mario RPG's and the Mario Movie

I'm surprised Bowser didn't get "Child Endangerment/Neglect/Abuse" charge, as he constantly sends the Koopalings (and Bowser Jr.) to fight Mario, expecting them to do what he can not.

That man was supposed to be in the Nuremberg trials of 1946, however he managed to escape with fellow officers to the mushroom kingdom. He is still wanted for violation of the Geneva convention, crimes against humanity and sexual charges. If you see this individual please just run and report him to the nearest local authorities.

One thing I would like to say about the first Super Mario Bros game, the first seven Bowser fights are actually standard enemies pretending to be Bowser, and you don’t actually fight him until the very end of the game. For that reason he should only get one aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, but all eight kidnapping charges since it was still him that locked all the Toads and Peach up

I would add to this list of never ending Bowser crimes theft - throughout the series he tends to forcefully take power stars or other powerful items against the owners will potential child labour - now, this might sounds confusing at first but if you think about it, Bowser does have a few kids or seemingly very young people fighting alongside him getting into dangerous situations, such as Bowser Jr. or the Koopalings

And to think that throughout ALL these games Bowser never actually attempted to kill Peach but merely kidnap her, and only officially tried to deliberately kill Mario once. Despite how terrible he is throughout the games, gotta respect the specific line he won't cross. Also, kudos to Mousait for the dedication and time put into crafting this video with the need to play 15+ Mario games! Dedication to the highest degree!

You forgot a lot of things in Mario Odyssey 1. War Crimes against the Cap Kingdom as he destroys their entire kingdom for no reason 2. Kidnapping had to be 2x as he also kidnapped Tiara, peaches crown which is actually one of the people of Cap Kingdom and therefore should count 3. Grand larceny 6x as he steals artifacts from the Kingdoms Sand, Wooded, Lake, Snow, Seaside and Luncheon. Otherwise an amazing video as usual though.

I'm surprised bowser got no charges for giving his children war ships, making them fight Mario knowing full well that he will definitely beat them up. And several neglect charges for them not being in every game (unless he has baby sitters for them)

Imagine what the final verdict would be if he went through every single game and movie he ever made an appearance in.

The first seven Bowsers in the original Super Mario Bros are actually decoys which can be seen when they turn into regular enemies when defeated, so technically you only fight THE Bowser once.

A few notes. 1 - They are only war crimes if you lose the war (which in canon he does, but could remove a few life sentences in "extra" which is scenarios he wins) 2 - Super Mario Bros. the first 7 fights aren't bowser, just minions disguised as him, though he presumably ordered them to do so. 3 - Bowser is a monarch, there are many times the monarch is above certain/all laws, it's likely within his own castle/kingdom attempting to/murdering Mario is legal or it could be framed as killing an intruder/enemy of the state. Though when in the Mushroom Kingdom he still has valid charges. 4 - In Super Mario world he also kidnaps Yoshi in addition to Peach, then puts him in an egg (which he seems relieved to be out of when you save him), so that is kidnapping + torture.

One thing: A lot of the charges you gave to Bowser came when Mario broke into his castle to fight him. Even though Bowser did kidnap Princess Peach, Mario breaking into Bowser's castle to retrieve her could be considered breaking and entering, making Bowser attacking him be classified as self defense. A lot of Bowser's potential life sentences would also be removed if that is the case since Bowser would be killing Mario in self defense. When you break into a criminal's house with the intent to kill them, I think it's fair to say that the criminal fighting back against you isn't them assaulting you. Any thoughts?

When you think about it, Bowser has come back from the dead multiple times throughout the series, so if Jr brings him back after he's been executed, they'll have to catch him again, and execute him...three more times, assuming the Koopa family has access to the body each time.

Crimes forgotten: You forgot the crimes relating to Bowser kidnapping Yoshi and his friends in Super Mario World. This would be mass hostages and he can get some child abuse charges because at the end of the game, we see that the Baby Yoshis were trapped in each of the eggs and once Bowser was defeated, the seal was broken. And while it was offscreen, in SMB1, Bowser transformed the mushroom retainers into bricks, which has to be some sort of crime. He also traps the Toads behind walls in Super Mario 64. In SM64DS, he kidnaps Mario, Luigi, and Wario, so those are three kidnappings. In 3D World, he kidnapped the Sprixies which are living beings that can think for themselves. Not sure if Yoshi's Island should be in this video since it's not part of the Super Mario series. EDIT: He also told his children to transform the kings into various creatures which would be multilation and probably usurping the throne. I'm a bit iffy of the fake Bowsers should carry the same crime but I guess you can argue Bowser conspired with his minions to help him. Also, I'm sure Bowser would've gotten the death penalty already for kidnapping a monarch. I'm also betting that Bowser would be risking some crimes regarding child endangerment with Bowser Jr. Not sure if you could count the Koopalings, since they are retconned to be his minions and there is only detail of them being his children in two game manuals and some game guides.

A few games, and details in already listed games I noticed you forgot in this video... 1. In the original Super Mario Bros, you only fight the real Bowser once. The others are just minions in disguise. Regardless, they are acting under his command. So he likely still gets a charge as a result. 2. Super Mario Bros the lost levels (Japanese Mario Bros 2) is more or less the same song and dance as SMB1, except; *His brother, currently only known as Blue Bowser, also fights you in 8-4, along with real Bowser *There's an extra world 9 also with fake Bowsers, likely acting on his behalf as well * As well as lettered worlds A, B, C, and D, with D-4 also having you fight Blue Bowser and Real Bowser once again. Worlds 9, A, B, and C all have toads kidnapped as well, and somehow, Peach is kidnapped again in D-4, so he gets an extra kidnap charge for each one. 3. In Super Mario Bros. 3, Bowser's koopalings each take over one of the 7 other kingdoms in the game, likely as a diversion while he kidnaps the princess. So technically, he conspired to World Domination. 4. In Super Mario World, Bowser's koopalings set up fortresses in dinosaur land and kidnap 7 unhatched Yoshi eggs, and even put a spell of sorts to trap adult Yoshis inside of eggs in question mark blocks. So that's 7 more kidnap charges, and for every Yoshi egg stuck in a block, a false imprisonment charge as well. 5. In Super Mario 64, all the Toads in the castle are trapped within the castle walls, unable to leave. So for each toad, that could count as either a kidnap charge, and/or a false imprisonment charge. 5. In Super Mario Sunshine, Bowser Jr takes the appearance of Shadow Mario, as to frame Mario for crimes such as defacing public property (graffiti) and "threatening the pianta's way of life". Additionally, Jr actually attempted to kidnap Peach 1 other time before he succeeded. While there are also Yoshis in this game trapped in eggs till you bring the right fruit, they are actually made with the same paint that created many other enemies in the game, so they don't count to any sort of kidnap or false imprisonment charge, as they aren't real. 6. In New Super Mario Bros. on DS, Bowser technically serves one of his hypothetical death sentences, since he technically died in the first castle. But he then proceeds to somehow break the laws of nature itself by coming back as an undead skeleton as Dry Bowser, and then came back to life proper after his son threw his skeletal remains into a cauldron pot. So while he could've technically served one of his hypothetical life or death sentences from this, it may not count as for all we know, him coming back as a skeleton and back to normal, could've very well been planned. 7. In NSMBWii, The Koopalings and Junior use a cake as a false present to invade the castle and perform the kidnapping. I don't know what exact crime that would count as, but I'd imagine it be the same as the Trojan horse more or less. 8. In Mario Galaxy 2, Bowser's planet at the center of the universe is actually trying to suck up energy from a nearby comet, which later turns out to be Rosalina's comet observatory. This could count as 2 sentences of Grand Larceny. One for the stars of the various galaxies he visited, and the other for trying to take it directly from Rosalina. 9. NSMB2 on 3DS could technically have a second count of Bowser commiting arson and assault, but not kidnapping, since you can fight Dry Bowser in World ⭐-🏰 (Secret world btw). However this may not actually count, since not only has he not kidnap Peach in this castle after the main story, but the Dry Bowser in this game may not even be the real Bowser, since there are times in which both Normal Bowser and Dry Bowser both appear at the same time as separate characters. Regardless, since Bowser previously had fake Bowsers acting on his behalf, and a brother also taking action, we could count the 2 charges under extras since it's from a bonus world with no impact on the main story. 10. In 3D land, it's found that after beating Bowser in the main game, that his minions actually kidnapped Luigi in special world 1. However, like NSMB2, not only is it an optional bonus, but you again fight Dry Bowser, (multiple times if you go through all 8 special worlds) but its still not clear if it's undead Bowser, or a different person from Bowser. So maybe add the Luigi kidnap charge to the extras instead of main charges. Namely because Luigi still appears in future games regardless of being rescued in this one. 11. In 3D world, both the original version on Wii U and the Switch port, Bowser actually kidnaps 7 sprixie princesses (twice), who he uses the power of to build a large amusement park kingdom. He also had lines of tanks and trains fitted with weapons and soldiers around the different worlds, and hired circus like bosses to attempt to stop Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach from progressing further. So in that game, he gets either 7 or 14 kidnap charges, 2 assaults with weapons (soccer bombs during world 1 and world 7 fights)a regular assault since the cat bell and double cherry are magic in nature, and thus may not count as weapons persay. And for extras, the murder charge is technically times 4 since he's technically fighting all 4 from a story standpoint. (It could technically be 5 since Rosalina also appears as a secret playable character in the game, but you only really need to play as her in the previous levels for an all levels stamp.) 12. In Super Mario Maker 2, there is actually a story mode. In the story, Bowser and Bowser Jr actually created levels, (while under anonymous names) with the express intent of harming Mario. Whatever crimes accur in those levels likely count as extras since for the most part, they are optional, as other levels are available. However, around the end of the game, Bowser actually kidnaps Toadette, which once again lands him "the Bowser trio" of charges. (Everything in this game however may not count as it's technically not a mainline Mario game) 13. In odyssey, Bowser should technically have multiple assault charges for attacking both Mario, and by extension, Cappy, in both the sea of clouds fight, as well as having a dragon under his control attack them as well. Also he, and the Broodals, who he hired as wedding planners(and also attacked Mario and Cappy), have committed multiple counts of grand larceny from stealing various artifacts from the different kingdoms, and his kidnap charge counts as 2, since the tiara he gave to Peach in this game is actually Cappy's sister. I can understand not including the RPG game like Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi, since they aren't part of the main series, and Bowser isn't the final boss in most of those games, as well as the various remakes such as the Advance series, and Super Mario 64 DS since they are just remakes of the previous games. But man, those last 2 in particular felt glossed over.

You should do this with other video game characters if possible, like Metal Sonic or Sephiroth, I already know this is going to be very entertaining.

I don't know what the formal name for such a charge would be, but I'm pretty sure in Sunshine he could also be prosecuted for lying to his son about Peach being his mom and commanding him to kidnap her on his behalf.

In SMB 1, it’s actually only one count and it’s the very last bowser. The other “bowsers” are actually imposters and they’re just Bowser’s minions disguised as him. The real bowser is the one in 8-4. So I guess instead of 8 charges, he should only get one.
