This is brilliant. If the internet is about connecting people, then Rives is taking that concept to the ultimate level in this poem. What he says about seeing the name of a person that's passed away in your inbox is touching.

it also is known , if you are a true writer , poetry DOES not have to rhyme . does romeo and juliet rhyme ? yes thats a poem , and extremely long one yes , but a poem none the less . there are certain types of poetry that aren't supposed to rhyme ie : spoken word , a haiku etc . jst goes to show , that you must have knowledge on a subject before you can critisize it .

"That's all you wanted anyway" still gets me when I think about this poem. I think the audience kind of brushed past how powerful the poem becomes for a second because the rest was funny, but I love it.

Decided to attempt to watch all Ted talks, this one was a Really creative poem and the guy showed in early days how we free thinkers thought of multiple possibilities with the Web!!! I give his creativity, forward thinking and poetic skills a solid 7 out of 10

actually if u listen closly he does rhyme. it may not be like a hammer to the head, dr.suess type poetry but if you listen you can hear how intricate his rhyme style is..
