Yes, definitely see him, but it's kind of like eating a can of Pringles, bet you can't go just once.... I'm in San Antonio, we love watching him at Sam's Burger Joint!
@@soulshine8281 I consider myself fortunate and blessed in that respect, having lost count of the times I've seen this maestro! :) Having volunteered at a concert series which had hosted him every year, for many years, I had a distinct advantage in that, as well as being able to actually talk to him, help him unload the 'Blue Whale', have a big sit down dinner with him, Karen, and whoever was backing him up for that particular show, and make requests before the shows. ;) I have also caught his local shows outside of our series as well though. Few sing and perform with the heartfelt passion of this man, and it shows on this song (LOVE that stream thing for the video, it just works here!).
Slaid is surely one of the most affecting songwriters and has such a sublime voice. This is a heartbreaker - he does that so well of course. Exquisite. He ought to be a MAJOR star.
I'm at the right age for this one to really hit home, and I am so grateful to Slaid for having written and performed it. Every time I listen, it's a highlight of the day.
Really enjoy this song. As a veteran who's son is now active duty, this describes my feelings when he came to his mom and me in high school that he was going to join up.
Buy the fella a beer why don't ya? Talk him up at your coolest local venue and get him a booking. Invite him over to crash on your couch and feed him a good sandwich or whatever it is you folks eat around there. Troubadours can't tell your story as well as they can after they meet you.
