@@alirak9261 every time he gets himself offed he just gets revived by Elminster, pretty sure that’s partly why they don’t seem to like each other much haha. Plus I think just to get back at Volo for getting himself killed (and therefore having to be revived) for the 100th time in the last 10 years, Elminster now takes all his wine and cheese, and leaves him in some weird location after the revivification.

@@alirak9261 haha Elminsters job is basically to be Mystras b*tch, he just has to do whatever she says to go do, which yeah unfortunately for him mostly consists of a lot of babysitting of idiot Wizards haha. But (lore wise) his favourite part of his job is going to old catacombs or old temples etc and leaving magical items (scrolls, weapons, potions, etc) behind to encourage new adventurers to try to use magic (because the more who use magic the stronger the Weave/Mystra is), it’s stated “he often leaves candles flickering to entice adventurers in”. (So in act 1 when you get “the watchers guide” from the tomb, it’s likely that lore-wise that was left there by Elminster for a brave adventurer to find)
