But the journalist is right. And Max is right. This wasn't a deserved win, and also in sport events, things happen, and this was a MAJOR bloody lucky strike for Lando Norris. The Mclaren is a good car, finally, but this win was received because of luck. What i'm impressed is the rookie from last year, Piastri, stayig up in the pack. This means the Mclaren cars might just be better than the rest of the cars, is just the pilots, Nor and Pia are still "too fresh" to utilize to the Max. ;)
@@ElGoogKO not exactly. It's more that the RB in this track didn't perform like on other tracks. The front end grip was a problem the whole weekend. You could see the gap that is usually 0.5s to the second best (that's been Ferrari most of the time), was only around 0.1s, to Ferrari, again. Also McLaren didn't perform above and beyond what Ferrari did. In quali they were around the same, in race also around the same. The big difference was free air for Lando. Soon he was in front, he didn't have to worry about tires degrading behind hot air. Which is basically what Max benefits in having a great car, you get pole, you get a good start and then you can manage because everyone else has to fight or degrade their tires chasing someone. Also seeing how Checo struggled, not even being in the podium, shows how the gap to the rest was smaller. That with tire degradation because of the lack of an optimal front end grip (you could see how Max in this race did some mistakes, mostly because of understeer). And yes, Lando benefitted from a safety car, but he was there to benefit from it. And a win is a win. I don't see how this win would be "better" if Leclerc or Sainz got it, if they benefitted from the SC. Hell, the only guy that won besides Max this year was Sainz and his win was because Max abandoned with brake issues, was that win "less of a win" because of it? No, he was there to take it and that's it.

Also he was closing on Max before the safety car as well,was faster on used mediums than Max on new hards too.Sure you can use the "Max had floor damage" reasoning,but he wasn't doing so well before the incident either,he barely put a few seconds on Leclerc. Because he isnt british, he isnt handsome and he says what he wants and thinks allot..took the title from lewis ofcourse in 2021. Ow and he also wins allot now and breaks allot of records. Thats bassically why people dont like him. But people will say its because of certain incidents and stuff in the past but that just shows the deeply rooted hate towards him and their bias towards others 😂 Because almost every driver have had moments like that and definetly the greatest ones in history.
Max always has his friends' backs. I remember Ted Kravitz asked Ricciardo about the troubles of "going back to your ex (RB)" and Max interrupted "oh you have experience with that [Ted]?"
Norris worked hard for it and got. You can see that Max enjoys racing against him. These guys are a different breed. So shamelessly careless and having way too much fun.
@@gealingeman8643 In fairness that seems to be McLaren's strategy this season. This is a second or third time where the strategy got hung out to dry on a safety car. If it happened they win, if it doesn't they fall down the order. The interesting part will be now that they are challenging Ferrari for second in constructors if it changes.
Just like everyone else. He got lucky and then capitalized on that moment and dominated the rest of the laps settings fastest laps along the way. He consistently pulled away from the pack and finished almost 8 seconds ahead of Max. Drivers are gifted opportunities all the time. This new generation of drivers needs a better class of journalists. Those questions might have provoked some sort of controversy back in the past but not nowadays! Congrats to Max for defending Lando!
Max just saying Max things, Lando quietly answering "aha", Charles smiling and both of these last two trying not to laugh. We know Lando and Charles loved what Max said. It was his way of stating that Lando is a deserved race winner and period.
Agreed. Luck had a part to play, but Lando Norris and McLaren HAD to be in position to maximise the hand they are dealt with AND play the cards correctly as the situation develops. Luck, yes. But keep in mind what one simply calls "Lucky win" is due to Preparation meeting Opportunity.

I think most people have changed their mind on Max. I used to hate him because he came off as arrogant and rude. But he's matured so much in the past few years and has shown the world he's actually a fun dude.
Max is always full of praise for lando. A few podiums earlier in the year he was saying "its surprising to see mclaren up here. Not surprising to see lando tho, i know hes super quick"
I love Max's honesty. He didn't take anything away from Lando's win by saying there was damage after hitting the bollard or blaming the safety car, Max was beat and couldn't pull the performance out of the car on this day. A bunch of "what ifs" but there is only one reality. Lando had much better tire wear and was able to run longer.
Then he had the one line in the cooldown room when watching the haas and Williams crash to say " atleast they have a spare chassis, right" like my man had the one liners on lock😂
Max racing his buddy Norris is always respectful. Same respect goes to Charles LeClerc as former junior rivals. Races between Sainz and Max has been a bit harder, but still fair. For me Max is a guy is someone who returns what you give him. If you respect the racing lines, he will respect yours. Those three are the most respectful ones amongst each other. On the other hand you have Ocon, Hamilton and Russell. Ocon is sometimes just an idiot, like unlapping yourself in a high risk-low reward situation or ruining the quali for Max. In those casses Max will return the favor and return Ocon’s run. I think Russell and Hamilton are the idiots as they often claim just a tat more space, racing lines or track as others and complain when someone does not give them the room. I mean, since I have been watching I always see Hamilton battling someone on the track and never ever is the blame on him. My eyes opened when he took out Albon once. But I have seen him the same with Alonso, Leclerc and some others as well. There is no hate, but I have noticed some bias in when it comes to Russell and Hamilton from the British media.

This Max is so different from the on track raging Max. Thats what I love about it. On the wheel he is an intense son of a bitch, but outside he is a great and witty guy. I dont think many people has suck kinda attitudes
What we all need to realize is that there is hostile press towards almost any driver especially the top and bottem one. If you consume only that media your judgement get pointed towards that media.
