Russia straddles both East and West. Her people share a unity and commitment to the whole which is the eastern mindset. The West has this ideal of one's individuality and has therefore fallen into greed, corruption etc.
I so appreciate Bernardo admitting that he's not had the experience of unity, but that he has the conceptual understanding of unity... which helps him to live his truth. This I see as extremely important because so many of us on this path feel disheartened when that feeling of unity eludes us.

Bernardo’s point about the mystery is well taken. The fact that infinite mind does not metacognize its own movement but is pure, omniscient, subjectivity is indeed a mystery. Wonderful conversation. @@markupton1417 what os meant is 'full of thoughts based on the illusory separate self. A period apent with no thoughts is highly recommended...that is a pwriod abiding as pure consciousness. This just happens naturally of you allow it. Then thoughts return, but they are not on behalf of the separate self, but eather as a rexognitinthat they come from god/pure consciousness.

The political talk at the half hour mark was a little jarring to be honest. I could see the hesitancy in the interviewer and his nervousness was well placed. The seeds of the conflict were sown 30-40 years ago. This "take" by Rupert and Bernardo (and I like them very much and have Bernardos books) was very very simplistic and made me think that when Rupert is not meditating he is getting his "news" from the BBC CNN et al. Now that I have that off my chest I will go back to listening to rest of the conversation that I so enjoyed in part 1.

I fully agree with you! Really appreciate both of them and love their message but was almost a little shocked at how little nuanced they look at this current conflict. As if it actually were as easy as good vs. evil. I would have expected at least Rupert to be a bit less polemic if not pacifist all together! However can't agree on everything I guess and the rest of the conversation is great!
I love Rupert, but it was disappointing to to hear him talk about Putin in the way he did as well. I hoped to find someone who might have felt the same way I did, and there you were, along with a few who had a similar views. I pray for the innocent people and animals of both countries, but this type of war has many complexities and it is hard for me to single out one person to deeply, and intensely dislike. Hi, why do you relate to media? The fact is - without doubt - Russia invaded Ukraine. Please look up on Wikipedia how the second world war began - please really look it up and see how the story unfolded in the beginning, and what the consequences were. Yes there might be economic interests involved and media/propaganda might tell this and that on both sides, but the core issue remains. This is the reason for the reaction of the West - having that story in the back of their heads (invasion austria, blitzkrieg poland,…) - doing nothing would have similar catastrophical consequences - as they said in the talk: “If they get away with everything, they will do everything.” We have historical proof for that. Besides that - I think they discussed it pretty well.
Rupert is becoming amazing at putting his understanding of the World into words. ❤️ Amazing to see & very commendable. Words are a potent medium to share this understanding, but I find this understanding insanely difficult to put into words myself. ^^ Rupert’s & other’s work helps me a lot in that endevour. ❤️ Experiencing this understanding yourself, through practices like meditation (or various other Dharana-style practices, including prayer) is one path to get to that understanding, but the breadth of influence of words, to share this understanding wider, can hardly be overstated. 🏆 With Love, from Slovenia ❤️

That was the quite profoundly disappointing element of this conversation for me. Surely for ones whose lives are steeped in this understanding, the only truly non-dual response to any situation is one of love and vulnerability, not judgement and force. By that I mean, not weakness and inaction but the most powerful witness of passive resistance and peaceful, non-violent protest against the perpetration of violence. The only way to neutralise violence is to absorb it in the name of love, even at the expense of our own lives. To fight fire with fire is an age-old response which may seem to resolve a given situation but ultimately only sets us up for endless repetitions of the same. I think it was Henry Thoreau who said “Things do not change; we change.” If Rupert and Bernardo are still treading the well worn path of violent retaliation, I wonder if they’ve really changed at all and, if not, what is it that they hope to teach us?

Speaking about non-duality in duality without understanding true love and compassion is pointless and dangerous. Yes, when Jesus said "But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also" he really meant it. Love is complete forgiveness and total surrender to the present moment and this is the only way we can turn war, violence and suffering into peace, understanding and happiness. Coming back to duality, it doesn't really matter that things are not so black and white. that he have no idea about the geopolitical situation, that force=brutal war, killing and more suffering in this situation and that he sounds like any other MSM journalist or even worse like a politician... I began to have my doubts about him when he blindly aligned with the official vaccination enforcement requiring proof of vaccination for participating in his retreats. Well said. I was also disappointed at Rupert's comment on the Ukraine situation. He didn't seem to know the truth of it. Ukraine is the hub of the Cabal and the Russian military went there to destroy the bio labs that were going to release deadly virus(es) to the world.
One of my favourite quotes in this wonderful discussion is from Barnardo at about 40.00: 'My life is bursting at the seams with meaning because it's not about me'. So true but so contrary to the way most people live their lives; always aiming to improve and aiming at the horizon. Who is the aimer and where is the horizon? It must be remembered that this "oneness" (which is all of us as one really) has an unfathomable intelligence (based on the 13.787±0.020 billion years the Planck data gives us). But I guarantee the purpose of Oneness (including but not limited to The World) is Companionship aka Love. It is only by veiling Oneself that Oneness can experience Companionship aka Love. I am so disappointed in Bernardo and Ruppert’s view on politics in their dialogue on non-duality. Doing what they feel is needed with love is better than doing it without love. Your love on this occasion is still of the kind of egoic love. You do not include everything and you have a judgment that you feel is a superior power giving you the right to judge the level of consciousness of another country. In this instance, you seem to forget that Ukraine was engaged in killing the Russian in the Donbas for seven years and you have not uttered a single word this last seven years as something you find so impossible to come to terms with. The persecution of these people and the constant bombardment and killing that Ukraine's government engaged in were mostly silent. Russians have the right to their own spiritual survival. The ultra-liberalism of America is not for them and frankly, many people are starting to say no to it. Our leaders are not evolved enough to understand that their own ways of governing the world are not embraced by other evolving countries. These countries are facing their own issues with their own population and what is now arising in the world. We need a different kind of engagement. A government that can lead at the level of conscious understanding of evolutionary principles. And our place in it in a personal and collective way of being in the world- on this increasing surface of spiritual understanding. Bernardo, you seem to make your own understanding of what is happening about you, where you are at your level of consciousness and delivering a message where not all elements are included, negated, and transcended. Rupert is committing the same mistake. I so wish that people at your level of spiritual understanding will not commit this error. In love and peace.

Bernardo gave me the not only the insight what and that I had been missing something in my world view but also courage to explore it which lead me to Rupert who gave me the tools and the understanding to explore and develop the part of me and my world view that had been missing. What’s the point of being enlightened if you remain constrained to walk between the lines of the dominant political narrative of your society? I thought a natural outcome of enlightenment is becoming an individual free of one’s cultural conditioning; the one who seeks truth and values justice. I didn’t see any of it in this talk. The person whom Rupert disliked so much is in fact revered by his nation and his actions are justified under the social conditions of those people.

There are few people in the world I respect as much as Rupert and Bernardo. However, I dare to disagree that the statement "to allow a totalitarian dictator to use the threat of total annihilation in the form of nuclear war is almost as detrimental to the expression of nature as nuclear war" is a little exaggeration. By not allowing the former we may cause the latter and isn't risking total annihilation as bad as total annihilation?
The best talk I've heard with Bernardo. I think Rupert brings out the real Bernardo and it's exactly what he needs. I'm looking forward to the day that it finally clicks and Bernardo realises he is more free than the vaste majority.

Rupert's, "reality is concealed by the world", has abruptly reminded me of the verses in the Bible, which say, "In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." Consciousness, the life of all, is hidden to the world, is my uninformed understanding!
Me too. It really did shock me that these two failed to recognise how completely they had departed from the non-dual path in their reaction to the war.

Rupert (in case you read this), Byron Katie once told a dear little story … There once was held a big council in heaven, where all the angels of all the heavens came to hear … and God asks for a certain job to be done … and when the angels heard this - they all shrank back … in horror … and fright ... And after aeons and aeons of lifetimes … finally … one angel showed up … and said “YES!” … “I’m gonna be THAT one, to be the Hitler on this Earth!”. I do NOT know … and NOTHING is as it seems (that’s at least MY story).
Regards to all. I'm from Serbia and we're kind of in the middle of east and west. From our position, it seems that Putin is a tyrant in his own country and the West, especially the USA, has given himself the right to go to other countries and correct what they don't like there. Just imagine if some country gets the idea to forcefully change something in your country. This is what the west has been doing forever in the rest of the world. We see the current war as another manipulation by the US to force other countries to fight each other for the benefit of the US.
There is one thing Rupert says that I don't agree with. He says that the experience of being or "I AM-ness" is the only experience that is not based on thought or perceptions but the truth is that for that experience of being to happen there has to be a body involved, it is this the reason that when we sleep deeply the Sense of Being disappears.

The perceptions you (each of you) shared with us also flow within my experience, and sometimes the energy compels me to write poetry even though I do not think of myself as a poet. I love the conversation, thank you for this sharing, it is deep and at a level that I crave or I could say a level that I am immensely grateful to have the privileged to watch. In my own life, this understanding has permeated my experience with peace, joy, love, freedom and authenticity. I love how Bernardo brought about the topic of the sense of mystery of life and how this has been lost in our actual society. The sense of mystery, the wonderment about existence. The felt sense of awe and wonder of the mystery of life. I love the talk about the mystery and the felt sense of being a kid in kermes. In my own experience, there is a feeling of wonderment about the beauty of life, a sense of playfulness, the magic of being here experiencing existence. The game of life living itself through me, being a person, going to work, driving a car, looking at a plant, eating an olive. That existence existing through us as an “individual” body/mind. Individuality alone for me was very dry, and very hard to live with and I experienced a sense of having lost something very important, a sense of something being really wrong. But individuality coupled with the knowing of our shared being has brought back the sense of love, peace and joy that I longed for all of my life and with it, the felt sense that being here, existing is the most magical wonderful thing that can happen. The fact that there is existence, to connect to that mystery of life is a doorway to the sense of being alive deeply. The aliveness and the simple joy of being. And from a deeper perspective, seeing, knowing or understanding that consciousness knows itself as itself only, from that perspective, nothing ever happens, there is only being or awareness of being, and even deeper, nothingness. The mastery in which they put that into words is also astonishing and I can’t thank them enough for doing so publicly, we need it. I also wanted to reflect about labels and what we do in the world. I felt compelled to share that nature expresses itself through me as “life coaching,“ in the moment, although “my“ life coaching is informed by the knowing of our shared being. I know that Bernardo was not judgmental about any activity and I totally get what he was saying when mentioning that often life is about “me” and how to be a better “me”. The label “life coaching,“ is assigned to “my“ activity instead of friend or spiritual “something”. But what goes on in a session is the meeting of reality through our shared being and the “transmission” of the “unconditional love and total freedom” of our true nature. What speaks through “me” is to the best of my ability, Truth. And words are clumsy, this is not to say that it is not what is going on in any activity, it is just to open the discussion about how an activity might seem to be about the me person becoming a better person but in fact it might not be. I also feel that the field of life coaching is evolving from a transactional coaching to a more, “transformational“ or deep coaching, more towards being and less towards doing. I also love the talk about the need of force and that hiding in doing nothing about situations that are limiting freedom and love is a reaction or the ego. That stopping evil can be done as Truth and that the absolute does not mean to hide behind some concept about it. Really enjoyed these two conversations, thank you Rupert, Bernado and Simon … except the discussion around the Ukraine issue, it was disappointing for me that it was coloured by the mainstream narrative, there are at least two sides to the story and a little investigation into the situation opens a wider perspective, for anyone who is interested in what is true and what is propaganda, a clearly dualistic view about the good guys and the bad guys ... internal awakening goes hand in hand with external awakening
With Rolf, I agree that there are at least two sides to the story. The conversation around Ukraine - which was being an example of a situation when push back force might be justified or even demanded - missed that Russia is pushing back for just this reason.

From the perspective of Kashmir Shaivism, in the book by Christopher Wallis, "The Recognition Sutras," he writes: there is "...the recognition that you - what you really are - are the creator, sustainer, and dissolver of the whole world of your experience of the universe as you know it. You are not only a manifestation of God (as all beings are), you are THE God of the universe as you know it, in the sense that the universe AS YOU KNOW IT is a direct expression of what you are. ..."
As much as I regard Putin responsible for terrible war atrocities and a ruthless dictator, I am surprised at Rupert's intense feelings of despise for Putin where he speaking knowingly of the "conditioned layers of his (Putin's) thoughts and feelings and his actions" which he detests. And I'm like, hold on, we all know Putin's actions but do we really know his thoughts and feelings? Does Rupert? When does imagination fill in the gaps of the narrative to suit our emotional tendencies? The stories on the media constantly plays up the tragedy in Ukraine while downplaying the deaths in Yemen and Syria or gang related mass murders and human trafficking in poor countries going on for decades. Its so convenient when there is a single face to blame or feel sympathy when the media chooses which faces of suffering we are exposed to. Personal connection also makes one tragedy more intense than another. One death of a loved one weighs much more heavily than the deaths of millions we have no connection to. Rupert's application of two faces, his son and Putin, in an exercise to love the unlovable is commendable and a good exercise of self inquiry. But I do wonder how karma plays into the images we are exposed to just because technology has made it possible today. I live in a country founded on genocide and slavery by leaders we call our founding fathers. But its still content of the Mind engaged in thinking. Better tun off the blue light screen, go to bed and get some sleep.

Violation of truth of compassion of love Rupert says at 21.47s. Violation such as anger, violence, taking what is not yours we call the worst of human nature and what religious and non religious people call kindness, peacefulness, truth, is the best of human nature. They are not separate Rupert, sadly our inherent being is both, the compost is the rose, the lotus is the mud. Enlightenment is the accepting of that truth. Peace of mind for a human is that god, Atman, Buddha nature, Allah, has duality qualities. This human expression is also the source, as representation of the truth. Humans may come and go, but the same old story continues and is eternal, the source.
I still remember as a five year old sitting on a warm summer day in the school yard and studying the catechism. The first question was: For what purpose was I created? The answer was: To know love and serve God. That resonated with my five-year old self and I totally agreed.
I believe that each and every one of us in whatever life form we are, are living this life experience for our own personal growth. I believe that all life is a form of God, of the source, of consciousness, whatever you want to call the ultimate greatness. All life is a manifestation of consciousness, so in other words, we are all God living a life experience. I believe that we all go back to the place or state that we all came from before we manifested. I agree with Rupert that love is the energy that we need to "try" to guide us in our daily challenges. Although we are the same, we are here in this life experience as unique individuals; an experience that God is experiencing through us. So the awareness and importance of not judging others are paramount to trying to live in love. We don't understand or know what is really going on with Putin. We have our own personal beliefs, but that does not make them a reality, it's just our own personal beliefs and understanding. Hence the importance of realizing that Putin is also a manifestation of God and we don't understand why he is what he is or why he is being driven to do what he is doing, but he is still from, and of God. Maybe our eternal individual souls are on a constant evolutionary journey of gaining deeper knowing consciousness with each life we live. Maybe Putin's soul has to learn important lessons from his experiences in this life for his own evolutionary journey's growth.

At 1.20 when discussing about what it feels to be universal consciousness , I'd say The experience the universal consciousness has of itself would be jthe same as our individual consciousness would be "I know I am, but I do not know what I am" This is such an incredible experience to listen to these 2 geniuses.

There is 'no one' to express unity. There is no one to experience whatever 'is', except from the illusory perspective of a separate self. You could both release referring to each other's ego or separate self in a apparent context like this.
Does Bernardo see clearly that nobody is choosing their thoughts, feelings and actions? I feel that's the only way to be accepting towards people we dislike intensely (like Putin). When this has been seen clearly, it's virtually impossible to have hatred for people, because those people don't exist. The actions may still repell us and we may even get angry. But we don't feel hatred for people who don't exist.
Agree completely. I don’t feel that these two are being consistent with their (as I thought) understanding of the unity of our shared being and the ultimate non-reality of the individual.

It s really beautiful to think of it that way: The physical space and the mental space are one. Moving through the physical space Is equal to shifting "our" consciousness. I haven't finished watching, but wanted to ask this to anyone who is willing to listen before I forget. How do Rupert and Bernardo seem to know that we aren't a dream within a dream, ad infititum? In other words, how do we know that the universal consciousness isn't itself an illusion, contained within another consciousness? I thought of this while contemplating a dream within a dream. My brother told me recently that he had a dream where he "woke up", only to find that he was still in a dream, which he then "woke up" from. How could it be possible to know that this is not an infinite regression?
We cannot see our image unless the glass is coated with opeque material. Similarly the conciuosness cannot experience it's existence,unless it creates a mirror (universe) with its own matter and energy and localised conciuosness as reflecting surface. If that localised consiouness is (opeque material) dissolved, the universe become transperent and one with absolute conciuosness.
This sens of separation is what others have called the original sin. In Truth, we are not separated. We are still one, perfect and whole as we were created. We have been conditioned to think we are separated. Healing this misperception is what you are doing both of you in this conversation. Forgiveness for our misperceptions and mis creation may apply at one point in this process. This is the purpose of the Atonement- At One Ment - understanding, accepting and then experiencing this Oneness, removes all shadows in our minds and liberates the mind from misperception and mis creation. And this happens in the present, In Presence, allowing the past and future to be healed as well, since both are just conceptual. Then the seeming existence, or seeming purpose of this world ceases to exist, and we return to Love, having accomplished another detour into fear, to learn from it, as a cycle of progression….
I guess you could say killing is wrong if done for the gratification of the individual rather than for survival. If there’s no other form of nourishment available, as in nature it’s excusable. If we pay for the killing of an animal simply out of habit or taste preference (that is if we are privileged enough to have the choice to eat differently) then the moral justification is, what?
Aside from my other comment, I'd like to add that this interview is largely inspirational. The coming together of the philosophical logical path and mystical experiential path is well in order. I've ascended in life from what I mentioned below (strict dogmatic and dualistic fundamentalism) to a non-dual vision of interconnected Reality. And in a non-dual Reality, it's not possible that the logical and experiential paths should ever be separate and not united. That separated sentiment goes against the very foundational premise of non-duality. We should see science, philosophy, and mystical experience as one interconnected unity of multidisciplinary understanding across the board. And that is what goes into a newer version of Idealism that I have named, "Hermetic Idealism." Which embraces Analytic Idealism and Mathematical Idealism. As well as the experiential path. When I get my own RU-vid Channel running for "The Hermetic Order of 21st Century Idealist's," I would very much like to book you (Rupert Spira) for interviews. And collaborate with Bernardo Kastrup and Donald Hoffman with myself moderating. So that the four of us together can further explore the coming together of the scientific, philosophical, and experiential paths and the audiences of each.

Yes they’re human like the rest of us but they’re also supposed to be teaching the rest of us humans that our conditioned reactions to situations like this are missing the point! The non-dual path was simply abandoned for several minutes while they discussed how we should go after the Russians. However there was never any acknowledgement that this normal, violent human reaction fell short of the non-dual understanding. That’s the non-dual understanding which is supposed to be about NOT being dualistic? Weird.

@@JA-gz6cj That is exactly what I’m saying, Read Gandhi’s appeal to the British, during WWII to accept his method of non-violent resistance: “You will invite Herr Hitler and Signor Mussolini to take what they want of the countries you call your possessions. Let them take possession of your beautiful island, with your many beautiful buildings. You will give all these, but neither your souls, nor your minds. If these gentlemen choose to occupy your homes, you will vacate them. If they do not give you free passage out, you will allow yourself, man, woman and child, to be slaughtered, but you will refuse to owe allegiance to them.” Would many people die in this scenario? Yes! But they’re dying anyway! This is radical non-duality. It demands courage and a deep, deep understanding of our oneness. Gandhi seemed to have some success with this approach. By all means allow the state to protect you and fight fire with fire, but please don’t call it non-duality. True non-duality is an outrage to most in our society.
