Two other ways of getting ender pearls: 1. Villager trades (cleric) "gonna need a lucky trade" 2. Warpped forest (nether update) "there maybe more ender men there than the entier end" I hope this helps

For this group, since they don't know. Items will not despawn from a chunk that is not loaded. MEANING, if you are not close to where you died, those items will remain, INDEFINATLY, until someoned goes to the chunk and picks them up, or has the chunk loaded long enough for them to de-spawn natrually.

The reason the stuff was still there after being on the server for hours is because as long as no one is in the nether with the items they won’t despawn
