This Gearbox belongs a Mitsubishi same thing happened to me but instead of removing the sensor I removed the valve body never remove the top bolt because the brake band falls out of place and wont engage reverse
The reverse gear requires that an idler gear be slid to mesh with the regular gears. Quite often the shift linkage has fallen off inside the transmission, it’s sometimes and easy thing to fix through the top linkage hole. That's what he did.
The plug he pulled was from the band jumping off the band dial/ plug.he just pulled the band back and reinstalled the plug/dowel that holds the band.but he still has to correct the issue that caused the band to jump off in the first place.it could have been low on fluid or the band wore.he could put a longer service in to take up the slack or well to it to patch it up.
People undo the brake band restraining bolt thinking its an oil drain plug. A common mistake on old freelander jatco autos, no reason why it wouldn't be repeated elsewhere. This vid showed how how to easily reseat the brake band and set it, otherwise a needlessly laborious job.
My pajero won't revers but it go forwad smothly .. i went to many transmission specialists and they said , i must change the transmition wich is cost toooo much .. i did not flow there recommendation ... what i did to fix it is : i went under the pajero and open every wire contractor on the transmition and spray electric cleaner on them for cleaning .. also spray the wires connect to transmition computer And let it dry .. after that transmission worked fine .. now after one year i have no problem with reverse or forward
Do u mean u spray all plugs about transmion by using contact cleaner ? Because i have problem in versa nissan CVT .. delay about 10seconds befor starting go revers
@@mooma20121 doing what that guy is saying will destroy any transmission. Electric/electronics only controls shifts, NOT foward (1st. Drive) or reverse. Drive and reverse are mechanic/hydraulic controlled. You have to open the transmission and change the reverse band with a new one.
Hi, i have a 2004 ford e350 with a transmission issue.5.4L engine an. 4R75w trans I think. Sometimes when i put reverse the engine shutdown, unless I press the brake and the gas at the same time to maintain the engine on, to can going in reverse. If you have some suggestions please let me know. Thanks a lot.
This was the exact problem I had...if I hadn't seen this vid I would have never worked it out...shogun 2006 3.2...just enough room under there to fix this issue
what kind of vehicle ? It is a rear wheel drive ... no need for talk see what he is /has done but what caused the inner part to slip to start with... is it made to do so under certain conditions ?
good vid. i am having the same issue i can't switch to reverse gear. everything is good n smooth. could it be the reverse switch too? did you solve the problem?
@@zeus-io3hn Sir, when I checked her with a mechanic, her non swift cable is broken and she is showing the mark on the four wheel drive [4 × 4 L]. Tell me a solution for this. Even after turning off the four wheel drive, that is not happening.
I recently acquired a 2005 Ford Focus start up put it in gear won't move none of the gears are engaging I hear these transmission are notorious for going out is it bad or is it something....IDK😕
What it looks like he's doing is removing the Brake Band Retaining Bolt and moving the band over to either the correct position, with the wire, OR moving the brake band to another position that's tighter and then reattaching the brake band anchor/retaining/whatever bolt. I don't know which brake band it is back there. There may only be one for that car. But, my guess it that it will make a worn out band pull tighter and overcome slipping. Which isn't really a good thing because it will eat away the drum. But, then again the drum is pretty thick, so. Whatever.
Bad reverses usually have a bad sealing ring or bad o'ring in the reverse drum piston or some other lack of pressure problem that disables the reverse drum from compressing. Reverse drums and gears are usually in the front part of the trans and are the first ones just behind the pump that unbolts first. What he did could even just lock up the overdrive or something to make the other gears engage somehow, but he's definitely messing with a band anchor bolt.
after attaching back the automatic gearbox to lexus v8 engine the engine starts correctly but the gearbox cannot select gears how can i put the gears back so i can drive
I don't have a clue what type transmission this is or really even what you were doing. But I have a 1999 Chevy 1500 pickup truck v6. And I seen a similar video once truck had no reverse and this was the fix. Don't know what this is the same fix for the same situation. But it's definitely not the same video I saw about a year ago don't have a clue what he is doing or on what type transmission
@@fast68chevy this is information that should be given at the beginning not at the end. Not even in the bed itself. You are saying at the end of the video it was stated who is going to set watch your entire video to see if it applies to their vehicle nonsense
Hi All, I have lexus LS 430 2002 not engaging into reverse at all, while in forward its smooth.went to workshop they told there is codes of valve body.any one can help what to do?

Nice video, it pulled up while searching for a solution on my question for a 2014 BMW 135i 6 speed manual transmission that will not into reverse gear, any chance this will work on this problem?
Eddie Kane nope! You will not find a silver bullet fix like that on RU-vid. This was not even a fix just a temporary repair until it jumps of the dowl again. It jumped out of place for a reason and it was not addressed take it to a mechanic
My 2011 jeep feel weak in reverse. My driveway has a slight hill. When i back up it it feel like something is bent a little. Anyone have any thoughts.tia.
Why did you even bother posting this you don't say anything you don't say what transmission is it is you don't say what the problem is you don't say what the solution is
