★ BACKGROUND NOTES ★
I've been challenging myself every year on this channel to one-take improvise a different Christmas tune for the holiday season, and here's another one that I've wanted to try for a long time - 'Silent Night'!
I basically took the theme and made it sound like as though it was written as a partially improvised marimba solo, with similar runs and stylistic flourishes that I've heard in other marimba solos (and also my own haha - love having a 7th in my left hand). It's a lot of fun but it did take me a few tries to get a good version - this one was the 8th and I was fully sweating because it's summer here!
Anyway I hope you have a great holiday weekend wherever you are in the world! It hasn't been the easiest year coming out of the pandemic era but we are gonna do even better in 2023 :)
