What if you did “If Blues Clues” wasn’t for kids? Like I’m imagining a tragic story of a scitzofrenic man still greiving the loss of his dog or a man haunted by his past EDIT: I don’t normally do edits but everyone’s suggestions inspired me a bit. What if the story was on a tragic detective crushed by his daughters murder, driven to insanity searching for the clues that don’t add up. He begins seeing things, mainly everyday household items coming to life which he remembers his daughter loving to play with, but also through her favorite stuffed animal Blue. He’s alone in his search but is happy running in circles even if he even gets a chance to see his daughter again.

Ok so here’s my backstory for these versions of the characters this is your tw warning people First of all they were all crew members (exuding Patrick) of a cruise ship that sunk Spongebob (aka Bobby) Was the cook, when the ship was going down he was so stressed and confused he just cooked, and cooked, and cooked until he ran out of air Me. Crabs ( no need for a name change) Was the captain, when the ship was going down he didn’t try to help anyone, he ransacked all the guest rooms and took anything valuable, but as the saying goes, a Captain always goes down with the ship Patrick was a brave tourist, when the ship was going down he helped the young and elderly board life rafts, but when it was his turn to escape, an ornamental harpoon skewered his head Squidward (aka Waren) Was a tour guide, when the ship was going down he was on his break, having just finished a tiring tour and unaware the ship was sinking, he locked the break room door and ignored anyone asking for help instead taking a nap, but he didn’t wake up... This was dark even for me....
And hearing it from the far, imagine that one kid ends up there and hear it and start to laugh too and try to find SpongeBob, and then when the kid enter in the he/she sees this: (the drawing) And he/she gets confused and scared because that is not the SpongeBob he/she knows, and Bob starts to walk in the kid's direction and starts saying something like: " we are gonna have Fun, we can catch jellyfish together" And then the the episode ands with the perspective of the viewer slowly getting far away from the Krusty Crabs and in the last second we hear a scream and everything goes black, and if you pay attention, you can hear that same laugh from far, far away....
I can imagine the story for this image - a crew transporting some eldritch cargo was caught in a storm, and driven to the bottom of the ocean. As various forms of sea life began feeding on the carcasses, the Lovecraftian artifact in the cargo bay activated, and merged scavenger with scavenge. Sandy was the diver who went to investigate the wreck, maybe out of curiosity, maybe hired to recover the artifact. EDIT: Read the DeviantART description, and I think I was pretty close.
I Disagree, since the body is human, I like to think that this researcher with an underwater pressured dome as shelter and an experiment subject pet squirrel, dies after finally discovering these individuals. Thus, the pet Squirrel (Aka Sandy) gets blasted with the dome’s disregulated plutonium reactor ( like in those mars rovers) rays and along with the new size and brain mutations, “takes over” the mantle of researcher as the previous one was the only behavior reference it had.
The diver had been like that when they found her, if like that meant “dead.” The fish hadn’t gotten to her yet. They had so many hungry customers though... Bobby tried to keep up. The barrels went first, then the little fish that used to swim around their diner. Mr. Krabbs was good at catching those; they were free, so he could do that much. Patrick didn’t mind seaweed being pulled from him, after the vegetables disappeared... Patrick didn’t mind much of anything. Just his dish. Bobby had to yell when he needed a clean one. Sometimes it worked, when it was a good day. The bread was all gone too, so Bobby had to find something else for that. His sponges were soft, and squishy... if he didn’t pull too hard, it didn’t hurt much. Just for a second. Up front, Edward was so busy. Customer after customer. There were no more little fish, nothing left in the barrels. The diver was good. She tasted alright; Bobby had to work hard to take the good pieces of her, but that wasn’t a problem. He was used to hard work. He liked it. And she tasted good; she made a nice brunch. Now she was gone. Bobby grabbed the eel in her ribs, and jammed his spatula just behind its head. It was a little messy, and the eel didn’t stop squirming for a few minutes, but maybe it would taste good too? He had a lot of orders to catch up on.
*Patrick:* "I wonder why were not getting many customers :/" *Sponge bob:* "Yea, I wonder why that is. Mr Crabs, want me to get out the extra human flesh? They would make great patties." *Mr Crabs:* "Do what ever you need to to get me money. Oh and, we need a couple more employees as well. Steal some that come in and replace there brain with the ones In the freezer. Chop Patric in half if you need to, we know that he regenerated both halves before. Oh and, even though we were low on meat last time, Squidward, just make sure Bob doesn't butcher him again." *Squidward:* "You got it sir. " (Mr crabs leaves) *Squidward:* "You heard him, get that corpse off and pin Patrick down to the table, and i'll get some blood samples just in case. We'll have to cut through the bone, so bring me the saw. (To Patrick) Don't worry buddy, this will be over before you know it =)."
Opinion: I'd like watching this more than the actual show This is right up my alley though, not gonna lie. Marine and other sea creature, piracy, body horror? Three of my favourite things, and this has it in spades At the same time, it does have suspense and horror game vibes
I would 100% watch this if this was a movie or show, I just thought what if they included some of the original humor like the stuff actually for kids and they would say that type of stuff at moments were they sorta fit but are just dark

That one sentence immediately knocked my childhood memories back into my brain and I am both okay and not okay with that. I swear to God that show was one of my favourites as a kid.
A silent viewer must speak up just to say how creepy, beautiful, and utterly amazing this and all your work is. I love the Wasn't For Kids series but this one... i have no words to convey how good it is. my only wish is a part 2 to this with the crew in another setting
I can see this being turned into a really dark story about one of them waking up from this happy-go-lucky hallucination that they believed was their real world with the talking fish and sponge boy etc., and then, it turns out this is what 'Bikini Bottom' really looks like.. I'm just in love with this idea.

The diver lying on the table, torn to pieces, his daughter and wife waiting for him at home, but he will never come back, lost at sea and devoured by the misfits of the human world and creatures of the ocean, for he is now part of the recipe for the famous crabby patty.

The first thing I thought of was Ms. Frizzle’s class getting into a car accident while on a field trip. Everyone dies but Arnold, and the trauma from seeing his classmates and teacher die causes him to have hallucinations/dreams where they go on wild adventures.

Lol im a kid and I'd probably watch Spongebob if it was like that . I LOVE gore and fake violence or just scary thing's in general. It makes thing's more interesting.
Yeah! Like they could be children of war or something or science experiments and they have "adventures" to spread tales and such and "lunch time " could be a code word for somthing
