I always like the idea that Belakor, (Or Kholek but can't decide) was the guy who broke the Polar Gates of the Old Ones, and was made a daemon prince as reward. @@autorobo1000 depends. The oath is more about regaining honor than suicide. The reason why no slayer ever regained honor is because most slayers want to die, as dwarfs always remember their shame and it drives them suicidal. And let’s not forget that Gotrek did die already, he was just brought back by BS plot demand
