Aerosmith covered Come Together in 1978 for the Sgt. Pepper soundtrack, and it was pretty darn rocking. May have been the best thing about that horrible movie.
This is a weird one. It's like asking "What if I was my own father or grandfather?" considering almost all those bands indirectly in some way trace their rock and roll lineage back to the Beatles.
2:22 Let it Be was definitely a Guns 'n' Roses ballad 2:51 All You Need is Love is clearly a queen song XD 3:25 Drive My Car sounds kinda GnR but I'm not sure... 3:43 Obviously Here Comes the Sun is Van Halen lol 4:11 Llmao Ticket to Ride is Sweet Child o' Mine 4:30 And Day Tripper is Metallica hehehe
Highly doubtful that the "80s Beatles" could have existed since a lot of the bands they supposedly took influence from wouldn't have existed without the "60s Beatles"...
That's not the point. Why so serious? If the Beatles would've been around in the 80's, I don't think they would've recorded this style of rock though. More something like Pink Floyd or Yes.
My insight : 1. if you play decently, every Beatles song sounds great, no matter what era you adapt it to. 2. what would have become of all the metal bands if the Beatles had not provided these wonderful riffs as a template?
Really nice video and playing, especially All You Need is Love Queen style! I think if Beatles were an 80's band they'll be more of a new wave/indie/synth pop band than hard rock/metal band, they'll be more like XTC, Seeds of Loves, REM ... etc
Come together - Poison Helter Skelter - Mötley Crüe Let it be - Scorpions All you need is love - Iron Maiden Drive my car - Ratt Here comes the sun - Van Halen Ticket to ride - Guns N’ Roses Day tripper - Metallica
I have to say your guitar tone is incredible. I see that the Blackstar behind you is on. Is that what you're using? Are you using some sort of amp sim or impulse response in addition to that?
I know that Mötley Crüe and Godsmack both do killer covers of Helter Skelter and Come Together respectively so I highly recommend checking those versions out if you haven’t, they’re really damn good
These are all great! There are two kinds of covers, (almost) exact replicas, and unique renditions. While the former is always cool to see, the ladder definitely better. It’s always nice to see a new spin on an old tune, or even a new one, why do you think the covers that get raved about are like Hendrix doing Dylan and Van Halen doing The Kinks?
People will murder me for saying this but I prefer Crue’s version of Helter Skelter, but the Beatles was indeed ahead of their time, they made an 80s Glam Rock song in the 60s, same as U2’s they also did a great a job in that cover (This comment is just a Mick Mars and to an extent The Edge appreciation post)
I'm having a hard time figuring out who inspired this version of Here Comes the Sun. It sure is a shame that he doesn't own every guitar by every artist ever for a hint?
they were ahead of their time and they pretty much invented hard rock, so it wouldn't be that different. "helter skelter" or "I want you" could remain the same. listen to "jaded" by aerosmith, it's basically "ticket to ride". ha, listen to "ticket to ride" live at the hollywood bowl or shea stadium, they made it harder live. "thins we said today" live was like a Nirvana song with the "quiet, loud and fast, quiet" formula.
