2011 thru 2019 Ford Superdutys with the 6R140 transmission MAY need the transmission lines replaced because they are leaking. I appreciate your hard work and dedication especially to teaching us 6.7 owners and filming everything etc. I just checked mine and it turns out Florida keeps these lines mostly looking good, I thought maybe the ocean breeze would salt the under side of my truck/lines etc up but apparent all the rain and rain puddles negates the oceans salty air. Thanks again, keep up the good work! I’m so sorry to anyone that needs to replace/fix these lines lol. What a headache.

I had this happen to me last year. I bought an imported 250 from Canada with only 30k miles on it, and it caused a cascade of issues that eventually made me get rid of the truck out of anger. I now look at these on every current Super Duty and have been replacing all of my friends lines with new ones and coating them before install to prevent this.

Just did mine in my 16, a bit different. I split the pair and could fish them threw without taking the filter base off.

If I was doing this, I would have cut the camera out a few times and let out a few swore words of frustration. After seeing this I will be undercoating these lines every fall from now on. As always great job ARod!

I so wish you made this video 5 months ago. Haha I had 232k on my 2017 f250. I did not have access to my old shop I worked in, so I did things at home. It sucks having to lift the motor in that fun mess on a dirt floor. This is why I'm making my own personal mechanic bay at home. Papa Ford showed me a procedure video said thats how to do it. It was not fun. Haha, ether way I'm at 277k now and still Rollin. Awesome video as always.

Had my 17 done under ESP, tech was cussing and bending. They did cooler also. Had to get under it and straighten it out a touch after I got home, was touching in a couple spots. Any these professional auto makers ever heard of G-damn stainless?

Another fail point on these cooling lines is the fitting where the rubber lines fits onto the metal line.

That was amazing skill and patience, On a poor northern rust truck . I’m also so glad I purchased the extended Ford warranty.Took this out to my Southern Truck showed her the pictures said behave or I ship ya North

Ford extended warranty doesn't cover rust lol, I tried for a customer and it got charged back. So you'd be paying for this anyways

@PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod I only told them it was leaking in my story. Didn't say rotted out. But they asked for the part back and determined the failure was caused by rust and rust is caused by lack of maintenance. Not covered under ESP

Are the manufatures intentionally not rust proofing the steel so that it rusts quickly? There is no excuse for that much rust on a 2017. It looks like a dang GM product.

The F150 6R also has this issue but it's by the front cross member area at a bend and crimp fitting where they fail

A guy I used to work with taught me how to deal with rusty fasteners. I was removing 5th wheel bars from the bed of a Dodge 2500 diesel, had to drop the fuel tank to get at the 5th wheel mount from the other side. The guy at work had me wire brush with die grinder the exposed rusts threads on the fuel tank straps and wd40 the heck out of the nuts. Made removing that 5th wheel mount easier. Other times there is nothing you can do with rusty parts besides replace them, found that out on a rusted out Toyota truck exhaust, damn thing was hiding more rust, needed a muffler and the cat back pipe.

When I am dealing with small parts I can't lose its mag tray time or the none magnetic or delicate parts go in those clear plastic pencil holders you can find at Walmart.

So, because it was under warranty is why you changed the cooler as well? I've done this job as well (On my back no less), but everywhere the line gets scratched in installation is the first place it begins to corrode. Somehow, I missed this video, and I don't miss many of your videos Arod, Excellent as always, my friend!

I'd get new matco stuff if they would get off their backsides in my area and service the 5 or so tools I need serviced and sale me the toolbox slides I need to mend my matco box. Got Snap On equivalent. If I get anymore ratchets, its either gonna be Snap on or Gearwrench. My Snap On reps are great and service my tools and order what I ask them to.

Arod the steering stabilizer, so ford every six months or replace it with what they say is “better “ so would it be better to get a bilstein. I was thinking fox they clamp on any help thanks. Duse if my truck looked that bad I’d throw up I would have to be under painting and scrubbing

Do you prefer the 6 speed or 10 speed transmissions in the cab and chassis trucks? The one 10 speed I drove was not nearly as smooth as my truck or the 10 other ones I've driven. The 10 speed was virtually brand new too!

Can the K member be disconnected on the cooling line side to give more room? I had to do cooler lines on Chevy 1500. I dropped the 2 nuts holding the front axle and got loads of room.

So do you typically see any crossover in the fluids? My coolant looked a little more “red” and I’m worried that maybe a small bit got in my transmission. I ordered new lines and a cooler already just wandering if you ever seen it? Thanks!

@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I live in the rust belt and that used to be the norm but these newer vehicles have e coated frames mostly 08 and on with the exception of GM and that antique wax coating system they still use main reason I won’t buy a GM anyway I have a 2011 F250 PowerStroke and it does have some speckling of rust here and there but very light but the bottom side of that 2017 looked very heavily corroded and rusted in comparison to mine so what do I expect a hell of a lot better than that and like I said especially for the money these trucks cost just seemed odd to me a truck 6 years newer than mine had so much more rust and corrosion on it just an observation.
