Steve you’re a genius! Please can you tell me how you packed these up for your customers as I had made several Christmas resincrete decorations and domino sets for my family and friends for Christmas and Royal Mail pulverised each and every one, despite them being packaged really really really well . Sometimes I think marking these packages as fragile is a red rag to a bull . I have been very disappointed this year in the way that parcels have been treated. I don’t mean just damaged. I literally mean pulverised.
Hi Steve. I saw another youtuber repair some resincrete. She simply rewet it broken areas and stuck them back together. She also used crumbles of resincrete that she rewet and made into a paste to patch air bubble holes and rough spots. Just thought you might like to know and maybe try these tips. Thank you for your videos. They are very helpful.
Hi Steve, I know this is an older video, so I do not know if you will still see comments or not, but I would love your insight into how you know how much ResinCrete to mix up for a project since it is by weight and not volume like tradition 1:1 resins. Volume is easy to figure out, but I do not know the density and could not find any info on JDiction's site about it. I just don't want to be wasting the product by overmixing. You're my only hope, Obi Wan McDonald!
Not a challenge, bit like the speed limit lol. Will be tempted to try this as with my hands the extra working time will be a G-d send. Thank you Steve x
Lol. Very true Bonny. I have found another couple of applications for the longer cure that have worked out really well, definitely a game changer for me.
I have loved watching you on both of your channels . I watch you on tv always give you thumbs up . Thank you for all you do for this crafting community . I wish could comment watching on tv . Just want you to know very much enjoy learning from you . God Bless . Keep crafting .
Great idea with selling kits. Would you suggest using a “Mould Release” product for using Resincrete, especially the ECO 25 mins product on smaller molds/items? I’m just curious, or simply let cure overnight?
Hey Steve, when something breaks can you crush the resincrete and use again like some other products? Or just use broken pieces to fill in a larger mold?
I did a comparison video a few weeks ago against plaster. This cures much much harder and gives a really great finish when cured. It has no gypsum in it
@@SkitchBean_aka_Christine_E I love spar urethane. I make a lot of wood products. And I use it on everything. I even sealed my fence in my yard with it. About 8 years ago, and it still looks brand new. Hardly any greying at all. It's expensive, but NOTHING works better. Especially for outdoor items. Oh and you have to make sure you use the oil base spar urethane. The water base is total garbage. It wont last a year outside.
Interesting! Put the new stuff in resin, give us the ratio, and see how it works that way! LOL I'm STILL trying to get the ratio so I can mix it in resin for some of my statuettes..
I started with 100ml resin to 1 scoop of powder and that has worked well for me. I have used it a lot as a mix since making last weeks video on it. I made some very detailed bees for a project on my other channel and they painted really well and so easily
Thank you for your response. Mine doesn't come with a scoop. :( Sorry to be a bother, but I'm soooo excited to try this! Would you weigh out your scoop for us please or give the measurement? @@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts
Hi Steve, Thank you for your always honest reviews 🤗 Could you pleeeeease talk to jdiction to sell resincrete in germany too? I desperately want to work with it 😭
Looks great, I tried it and was happy with results but my own opinion is it's just expensive plaster of Paris, which I'm going to buy at weekend from b&Q nd try out in my moulds , not sure why didn't think of trying plaster before .
Plaster of Paris is both softer and more brittle than these "cretes". These would actually be classified more as a cement than a plaster. Similar products advertise that they are approximately 5X stronger than standard Plaster of Paris.
So interested in trying the resincrete! Do you think this could work well for small earring molds if they were left in the mold to cure for a longer period of time? So interested in trying to use the molds I have currently but they are smaller molds!
I’ve never used it but am I right in thinking it’s similar in powder to cornflour? Not for setting obviously, just easily mixed with water? A daft question to some, but not to me 😁
I had a question with the resin the ANB one I’m having problems that when it dries it’s still sticky and it doesn’t harden all the way do you know why it does that
off topic question for you since I can’t find the video you discussed it in… demurring tools, are the blades supposed to rotate freely? I just got one on the recommendation of you and a few other RU-vid resin artists, but I have ZERO control. my project is now pockmarked from the blade flying around. 😢
Yes it does rotate freely. I do have a few videos where I show how to use it. The best thing is to remove the thinest slice possible. It takes a few minutes practice, but slow and steady and thin slices is the way to go
I always use gloves for resin, but this is completely inert and nontoxic in any way. I do use a mask when dealing with powder. I am very very strict with PPE as you will see in all my resin videos and the videos I have made on the importance of PPE. Hope that helps 😀
