i am born into a muslim family but didnot really practice much and i was smoking for around 8 years. after i did my umrah i was looking deeply into islam and tried to stop smoking. what i did was, everytime i want to smoke i would say Bismillah. so i starts to feel guilty saying Bismillah doing something that is haram and i eventually stop smoking Alhamdulillah

I'm only a few minutes in, and the first thing that Djuan mentioned is something that kept me from taking my Shahada for years! I had belief, felt Islam is what الله mandated for mankind, but I still was hesitant to take my Shahada. I felt I would "fail" as a Muslim... That I would struggle to part ways with the "current me".
Allah swt teaches us to adress that concern by reciting surah Al-Fatihah, more specifically the ayah 5 "Iyyaka Na'budu Wa Iyyaka Nastaeen" which means, we worship You alone and none else, and rely on You alone and none else. Islam is a responsability, but you can't fail when you rely on Allah swt.
The shatan does that to me he says I am not praying properly so what's the point. And makes me have these thoughts that I am not a perfect Muslim or I should try better tomorrow and that day started off bad so really there is no point and doing the rest of the prayers. But I am not going to give up I am going to keep trying and will ask for Allah to help me.

And know that the Satan is weak [Quran 4:76], but he's wicked and tries to discourage you from obeying Allah. And if you have other muslim brothers be with them. It's easier for Satan to allure one muslim alone. Try doing the prayers in the mosque as much as you can. May Allah give you the strength brother.
Yeah.... jst like what brother Mohammad Ali said, Satan is always trying to stop one from doing such priceless act till he/she die so that he (satan) will have more companions in the hellfire.... May Allah protect us all.. So my advise is, if you really have that believe, the truth is clear to you and you are sincerely honest to your self then do it and become a muslim before its too late,(because we all dont know when are we goinng to die). And also keep that in mind; you are going to adjust you self in order to be closer to Allah, not in order to be pure, because no one is perfect though you will never be... I remember being young in Islam in my teens and having 50% Muslim friends and 50% Non-Muslim friends. When I would hang with my Non-Muslim friends we would drink and smoke and talk to girls. When I would hang with my Muslim friends we would talk about the deen, hand out food to the poor and do dawah. Then Allah gave me a sign that my Non-Muslim friends weren't really my friends and did not have my best interest at heart and I left them and surrounded myself with Muslim friends. Best decision I ever made after taking my Shahada at 13 years old. Some of my Non-Muslim friends took Shahada after I decided to go all in on Islam.

Of course you have to look after your family especially your parents sister, because Allah says this about our parents in Qur'an Al-Qur'an 17:23 For your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And honor your parents. If one or both of them reach old age in your care, never say to them ˹even˺ ‘ugh,’ nor yell at them. Rather, address them respectfully. Al-Qur'an 31:14 And We have commanded people to ˹honour˺ their parents. Their mothers bore them through hardship upon hardship, and their weaning takes two years. So be grateful to Me and your parents. To Me is the final return. So as a Muslim you have to fullfill your filal duty of taking care of your parents, even if they didn't convert it doesn't matter, it's your duty to take care of your family.

The fact that you found your path to islam all by yourself without any muslim friends is a testimony to your pure heart and pondering mind. Don't worry about being a perfect muslim, no such a person exists. The more you pray and read the quran, the closer you will get to Allah and the stronger your faith will become. When you start having questions doubts or second guesses, don't just keep them festering in your mind, but reach out to learned muslims around you to address those thoughts. I'm beyond beyond happy to see younger people of my generation educating themselves and getting to witness and discover the right path MashaAllah it's literally all the guidance of Allah swt and obviously a person's willingness and niya(intention).
