From other comments and my own research, I know it's tough to get a self-sponsored skilled worker visa with 75 points, as a software engineer with 2+ years of experience from off-shore. Is it possible to get a temporary visa sponsored by an employer? How difficult is that: I apply, get a job and then can come to Australia on this visa(then convert to skilled PR)? How many points do I need approx. if I come on a student visa for MSc, and then apply for the subclass 189 skilled worker visa? PS. I know my question is very long but still would appreciate your help!

I have uploaded a video about 189 as well... Request you to have a look... Also, once you get a PR, irrespective of which technology you work, you will get a job... But if you are not a PR and want someone to sponsor a work visa, then it is difficult as a Java Developer.

Getting opportunities in regional is not difficult these days especially for IT consultants, but I would still recommend you to get a job as soon as you can... Because once the work from the office will start... Getting IT jobs in regional will get slightly tough... I may be wrong but this is what I think can happen as per my analysis!
