No offense, but there is nothing big brained about predicting all the favorite teams to qualify out of the group stage. (about half of them didn't, as expected, and for obvious reasons, new managers, bad team cohesion, mediocre managers, mediocre tactics, unmotivated players, injuries, etc.)

My favourite would be Argentina as well because I just want Leo to be happy. To me he's The Undisputed GOAT with or without the World Cup though. But he really wants it, so for the first time since I ever gave a toss about football (2006), my first pick isn't Spain, but Argentina. But really who knows what can happen. That's football. I do think the big teams (Brazil, France, Germany, England and or course Argentina) will make it through the group stage. That's all I'm willing to bet on. Anything after that is anybody's guess. Argentina do have a good chance of winning it. They are one of if not the best team on form and chemistry. The whole team would die for Messi and they play with him instead of depending on him. Having that surely is a plus. But LUCK is another story. So really, who knows...

As a Dutchman, seeing you put the Netherlands as 2nd in the group made me mad 😅 But then seeing you predict that they’ll make it to the final, really surprised me 😂.. But then it made me think.. If the other groups pan out the way I think they will, it would actually be more beneficial for the Netherlands to finish 2nd in the group than 1st.. Argentina and Brazil will be far more difficult to beat than (what I think) England, Denmark and Germany 😅😅

Gotta disagree on Argentina. I think they are the currently most overrated team. They've had a great run, but only the results from the last six months truly tell you anything about their form. In that time, the only big team they beat was Italy and they have been very sketchy. Germany beat Italy by three goals as well. If you look at the individual quality, Argentina does not nearly measure up to France or Brazil. If you actually check out teams by player market value (also a metric that should not be rated too highly, but it is another indication), they come in quite a bit behind Brazil, France, England, Germany, Spain and Portugal. In a one on one matchup I do not see them beating Brazil. We'll see what goes down.

They seem to overlook our potential and I don't see a problem with that. Hope we add the 6th star above our emblem this time.
It makes me a bit superstitious that many of the sport pundits/general public pick Argentina as the winner... Main reason is because the favorites usually underperform, and there's also 3-4 squads that are better than Argentina quality-wise. They do have a long unbeaten run though, and their defence is certainly better than in 2018. Plus much of the 2021 Copa America core is still here, so hopefully they'll perform 👍

As Uruguayan I hope Argentina doesn't win, but I think they will, if they do I'd be of course a bit annoyed about our sports rivalry, but I'd be very happy for their people.
