David Brent (Ricky Gervais) from the Office performs his single. Official music video. DISCLAIMER - I do not own the rights to this video! sorry if i wasnt supposed to upload this...
I have to admit I flicked passed the office on tv for ages thinking it was a shit documentary . Then one day I didn’t turn over fast enough and thought - hang on this is bloody brilliant 😂😂😂
The way he holds up the bottle of wine and says "cabernet sauvignon" is priceless. So many people act like these pretentious experts when it comes to wine and Ricky nails it perfectly.
How come I've never seen this magnificent version of this song before hun? and u call myself a lover of good tune....unbelievable!!! David Trent aka R.V u re d best.
You must all be youngsters watching this saying the original was simply red. Go back another ten years. It was Harold Melvin and the blue notes!!! God that shows my age 😂😂😂😂
I only watched the office for the first time this year. I actually fell off the lounge laughing at this. Has to be one of the funniest 5 moments in tv comedy of all time 😂
Such a brilliant piss take at all the shite 90s music videos with stereotypical facial expressions/hand gestures/poncy clothing and soppy gestures and the use of doves is brilliant hahahahahahaha. Even the camera shots are melodramatic.
The shot at 1:46 just cracks me up. He looks like a 90 year old in a home for the elderly, but Brent probably thought that pose made him look sad and vulnerable, but in a cool, sexy way..
@@joeljohansson6097 Simply Red dont do originals. Nearly all of their singles are covers. My mum loves them for some reason even thought they are fucking shite!
@@georgemacbeth9667 holding back the years is a cover of the frantic elavators but mick still wrote it so its sorta theirs... And stars, moneys too tight to mention and for your babies is theirs so idk where you getting that from lol
always makes me feel better. it works all the better because he can carry a tune, of course. But I think the master stroke is in the off-hand "nooo"''s and "mamma"s paired with the direct eye contact. beautiful.
it wouldn't be surprising if they did as americans can't think of anything themselves, always have to take shows from england, the office, the inbetweeners bla bla bla......
If there was any real justice in the world, this should have been number one at Christmas and the fact that it wasn't is a true crime because this is classic David Brent 😂
I always found it a tad inconsistent or unusual that Brent put out “his own single”… but it’s just a cover of an existing song? He writes his own music so why wouldn’t he use the money he got from the settlement to put out a single he wrote himself?
For enthusiasts of pointing out things we've all seen and heard - are none of you feckers going to mention his mime while singing, "when we can't see eye-to-eye"? 2:35
It really is sad how many fellow Americans don’t know the unique joys of the original Office. Yes, I prefer the U.S. version, but this show has its own flavor. This music video is not overly bad like the “Scranton, The Electric City” music video is. Instead, the cringe comes from the fact that David so obviously thinks it’s excellent because it’s mostly good, but cannot see the cringiness of it that’s peppered through the whole thing. Much more subtle and characteristic of what they were going for with this original show.
