Hi Kelly! Great job here... I'm a former Outward Bound Instructor & professional mountaineering & river guide out West. I'm now 51 and facing health issues. Your vids are just what the doctor ordered! I really appreciate the simplicity & straightforwardness you've achieved--no BS/gimmicks--keep it up Nate
yes I agree with some of the other comments you do the best job of documenting/video taping your thru-hikes. Just love it. I can't wait to hear what you think of the Wind River Range when you get there : )
So so SO beautiful!! Some advise that works for me, but totally feel free to take or leave. As someone with awful knees and who loves to snow hike, put your poll on the down hill side next to your foot on the sketchy traverses! That way if you slip, your poll can stop ya because it’s usually much more stable. Others may have different opinions but that’s definitely saved me in the past!
As a viewer, just getting these little snapshots of the hike, it's crazy how one minute it's green and grassy and the next minute the trails plastered in snow! Seems like quite a rollercoaster of terrain and scenery, but looks amazing. Keep going and keep the vids comin'!
Hello again Kelly, what beautiful scenery surrounding you all. I have a video content suggestion for you. Not to give your exact locations away, but can you from day to day insert a screenshot thumbnail of past day trail maps? This would be very informative for those who someday want to take on this challenge. A screenshot map connected to this magnificent scenery would be awesome. Thank you for taking your RU-vid followers along and sharing your latest adventure. Stay safe. ❤😊👍
Right when I was thinking, "As scary as this is, it would probably be amazing sled riding haha," then you go and whip out your sleeping pad! 8:38 You are awesome. You got some amazing views in this one. And that rabbit at the end was the cherry on top. I loved his white feet. Great video!
What beautiful country ! Thanks for sharing your adventure again Kelly. Have a safe hike. I'll be following your reports daily. Aubrey Gaines, New Brunswick, Canada
Howdy Kelly the Arkansas Queen of the Trail! That part of the trail is soooo striking! Don’t know how it can get better but hope so! Wow! Watching from Angel Fire NM with my family! Saddle Up!
There's something extra cool when a thru hiker is somewhere you've been before. That wake up picture at Two Medicine was incredible. You saw a lot even more impressive thru out the day. It;s nice that "Socks" the Bunny stopped by for a visit.
I'm 74 now and backpacked my whole life acrossed the west. I think you are doing an amazing job, I just would make one recommendation. I didn't see a bear spray cannister. I hope you have one. It has saved me more than once.
Boiling water in a plastic bottle in your sleeping bag. Keeps you warm at night and gives you water in the morning that’s not frozen. Learned this from Outdoor Boys
Kelly- you can buy better spikes (cramp-ons) with even better traction in snow. The ones you have with the spring is useful in mild conditions & may accommodate your needs but thought I'd just give you an alternative if they don't. Happy trails my friend
When I was camping at the Morning Star camp ground we were lucky to see the white mountain goats jumping on the cliffs. At this point you're probably almost out of Glacier, but iff not start watching the cliffs for the goats jumping.
Amazing videos. High elevations. Breathing must be difficult. It seems I'm subscribed to three Arkansas thru hikers. Audrey All Over is also on the CDT and Rebound is on the AT.
8:36 Good times. The way you are taking to the snow, I think you may have made a mistake not going NOBO. You could have been glissading all the way through Colorado. 😎👍
This gotta be the most bipolar trail I've ever seen. One minute its Summer, the next its Winter 😂 A brotha wouldn't know what to wear! Just walking around over & underdressed all day long!😂
I hope you are alive, in the moment. What you're experiencing right now is nothing less than amazing. Isn't God great. Love the scenery, you're showing, it really is breathtaking. Be careful be blessed.
