This video is just copium, this game is pure p2w unless you only pilot the most efficient aoe class and play as if it was a job. If it wasnt for the connections ppl made with others through the game, so many more ppl would have already quit because this game is just a carrot on a stick chase that is fueled by people busting 4-5 figures because the only other avenues to earn penya are mindnumbingly boring. If you feel lost in flyff universe - quit this game. Save your money/time and go play something that doesnt try to pull every last penny out of your pocket the SECOND you even think about improving your character. Especially if youve hit maxlevel.

I am in complete agreement over the fact that the business model practiced in Flyff Universe by GALA is insidious for constantly trying to milk you out of your money with basically everything. I won't and never will make a claim that this game wasn't P2W in nature and that it's a rocky road ahead if you don't wanna spend... but at the end of the day, that's honestly how pretty much every "F2P" MMO nowadays is and I take that for granted. I expect everyone who wants to take the path down one instead of just paying for a subscription MMO to be aware of this. But this video's topic doesn't slide quite into the topic that you're getting into. Flyff Universe indeed isn't all that diverse content-wise and doing them frantically would definitely burn you out, but this is more into the topic of one not finding ANYTHING else to do besides grinding. People are coming back after over a decade and some people are there are still completely new players coming in, so people knowing everything cannot be taken for granted. The game isn't all that well explanatory with what to do besides grinding, and much is left in the hands of a player to figure out. And the video's point IS to bring awareness to what you CAN do when "just grinding" doesn't seem to cut it anymore - to offer diversity x) Whether one wants to take the path of F2P, get into spending or just quit the game is ultimately a choice everyone can make by themselves, I'm just doing my best to educate people about the game without pushing the price tag onto their faces and remind them that spending is a choice and not a requirement (as long as you're not doing PvP 😂). People are different, but at least I'm capable of funneling fun out of this game as a pure F2P. And I'm not in a hurry to reach the top anytime soon ^^ EDIT: Oh, and thanks for offering the realistic opinion about the game! I am generally an optimistic person but bringing a hint of realism to the table is also important for players who do want to be invested with the game c: I'm gonna pin this one so atleast people know that this concern exists AND my personal take on that view 👍

You'll easily get overwhelmed if you think too big. Chew little bits at the time and allow yourself to lax. I've met quite own share of guilds that have high demand for power and the rush of adrenaline is very temporary. One shouldn't feel smothered by this, but attempt to trek their journey for building their character at their own pace while winging as a member with people. The more you can trust in guild you're in the easier it is to set your goals without it feeling too overwhelming. Oh yeah and when it comes for bossing, don't take guilt if you don't get the hang of it. Bosses like meteonyker can be quite odd and difficult to handle especially for close combat dps (I feel sorry for billposters), as the melt has short time to run away requiring you to sacrifice some dps to make sure you don't die to melts. Me for example, am attempting to reach my ringmaster to 120 now, since my ranger is lvl 126. It does indeed feel overwhelming since getting F3 groups for towers daily and grinding with level while idling away or contri in more active set up, it does indeed drain the thoughts of "What next?" to "What I am doing?". What matters is that you take victory from small things and don't feel let down. Sure game is p2w, but it isn't as crazy p2w as it was back in Flyff Gold. Think that in those times there was no pity system for gear upgrades and raised pets died left and right when forgetting to unsummon them from starvation.
@emenalus
@emenalus 8 месяцев назад
This is exactly the point I wanted to bring out and I'm really happy that you could reinforce that idea with your better experience of the later game. It is VERY easy to get extremely ambitious with this game, but that doesn't mean that you should. You'll burn yourself out really quickly if you're expect quick results or looking to do something greater than yourself. It's more important to take the game at the pace that you can sustain :) You can easily fault the game's P2W aspect for being so merciless, but even spenders have it hard. And not many will have the opportunity to even spend 3 or even 4-digit sums in order to guarantee fast progression. A LARGE majority of the players will do it the hard way, which takes a lot of commitment and that's how MMOs always are. You have to put a lot of time into it. For those reading, don't stress over dreaming big and thinking it's not doable just because you don't have the dough. Take pleasure in small achievements and advance one step at a time. The important thing is that you enjoy it and not the numbers - because the numbers won't matter if you lose the drive to play ^^

I quit this game long ago, and waited for it 2 years before it came out. The devs promised less p2w and then the shop came as it was at the old days .. every system is locked by pay wall. Sprotects, gprotects. Its not quality of life items like pick up pets that you buy once and thats it, its basically if you want to do what youre supposed to do in an mmo, you have to pay. At the begging the game gave u double fcoins like 21.5k for 100$, it was okay to be a spender there and max out your char. But the moment they removed it to 10.5k per 100$, only whales could actually max their char. The game is basically not worth playing. Its nice for the nostalgia, but u will find yourself lvling non stop without a fun ability to actually make penya as a f2p. FlyFF is just making me sad. It has so much potential to be a VERY good anime mmo if the devs would just not be as greedy. F2P games should make money by selling stuff but flyff is just selling everything. Its like imagine if you had to pay for air lol.If you want to play the game just pay or waste years of your life just to find out the weapons you worked years for are now shit and you gotta ultimate +10 the new weapons. WASTE OF TIME, this game should be locked by the police lol.

I'm honestly quite perturbed about how things really turned out with Flyff Universe, but this much was to be expected when GALA took reins with this game. What eludes me is what drove Sniegu Technologies to actually make this decision. Were they really offered such a large sum of money that they couldn't turn it down, or was perhaps the release of Flyff Universe at a risk in case it wasn't turned over to GALA? I'm not in the know here, so I won't make any claims in that regard. As much as I like to speak of Flyff in a positive light for my love for the game, it is always a thorn in the side for how much of a paywall the game is. As a strictly F2P player, I'm used to living my life with the game with the restrictions in mind and I'm personally cool with that, but people are different and I can't expect everyone to be as patient as I am. It IS designed to try to milk money at every turn for whatever you do, and I will never come to respect that. I push the F2P approach with my content constantly because I want to remind people that spending is a choice and not an obligation. It takes time, yes, and that doesn't guarantee your character the best possible gear, but unless you're going for the competitive route there isn't any need to either. It takes hell of a lot of time, but MMOs are generally designed to be time-consuming and at least to me, picking up one comes with the expectation for some sort of commitment. The power creep with new gear and mechanics is definitely real, but sadly it's a choice between people quitting the game due to lacking things to do or eventually having to start from scratch. On that note though, it'd be great if the price tag for making new gear wasn't so high, especially with the new features that they've decided to heavily monetize too. There's no reason to make people go through the grind to +10 everything again on top of everything else aside from pure greed. I hope GALA realizes to eventually correct their mistake and make it easier to transition between stages if they're gonna keep releasing new content to grind. But well, my hopes aren't too high on that one. GALA always sucked with maintaining its most important resource - its customers. I trust in the game's potential too, but not when in the hands of greed.

@@emenalus first of all I have to admit that I really liked your video and the positive way you were talking about the game. I am a fan of the game, yes. I played it when I was a kid for years and I enjoyed every second. You clearly said it in the video, I looked at those shiny players and wanted to be one of them. I did it, it took me years of f2p grind. I was a kid. Now I am a man with a full time job, I can accept myself to pay some money and make things easier. The question is, for what am I paying? For better outfits? quality of life? Im good with that. But paying for a chance to get the upgrade you want with a horrible pity system? Nahhh. I cameback for this game because of the nostalgia. FlyFF chat and the way to communicate is probably the best i'v seen. In every mmo I played I always missed flyff communication. But other than that, lvling to around 80 is probably the only fun grind in the game. You always lvl to unlock a new skill, get the second job etc. Other than that it starts getting very boring, you get very bad exp that you have to do the same thing for hours to not even lvl up, all the hard work for just 2 stat bonus that means nothings if your goal is not to max your char for end game. I do like flyff pvp but its nearly impossible for f2p that has a full time job and a life. FlyFF gameplay is not even good. You log in for the friends, for the money making. Do you find killing the same monsters for hours fun? Do you find doing dungeons without good mechanics fun? I dont. In an mmo, upgrading, working to get better is part of the gameplay. You have a char, you want to use the best armor, weapons. You want to upgrade and simply get better, doesnt matter if you aim on being the best at pvp or not. In flyff upgrade is locked by paywall. Which means, part of the gameplay is locked by paywall. And this is critical because the whole point of an mmo is to get better. What is a grind for you if a whale can max out a char with just money? The real grind is to be an F2P. But the game doesn't reward me as f2p for playing it. There are some boring ways of making money, but to be able to actually get to the point where u can get a better char you need an unhealthy unfun farm. So yes, I do understand. Some people play for fun, not to be the best geared. So you wear some cheap armor and weapons, you get it to +3-6 and you grind. Upgrading is locked for you, pvp is locked for you. You log in to check some shops, and.... Grind.. exp. Good amount of wasted hours to get 2 more stats. And guess what, those who actually upgrade can lvl up faster. Now the question is, do we like targeting monsters non stop for hours, days, months? Do we find it good gameplay?! I say no. We do it because its the only thing we can do as free to play. But what reward do we get from it? Nothing. I think the game should have good quests, daily, weekly. Good NPC shop with limited upgrade scrolls you can buy per week. Good solo raids, dungeons with good mechanics. The game needs to reward us for playing it on some web events. The game should reward us for playing it. I always said, if I had the chance, id make the best flyff game ever. Id focus on gameplay more less than exp. Yes exp is fun but not in the unhealthy way of flyff. One last point, players wants changes. No one will log to the game to see the same thing everyday. So yes they can update, but at some point for an f2p, the updates are just for him to read it on the patch note. He is too weak to be able to get there. So how do we help those f2p that are so far behind? Flyff doesnt care about that. If the game wont give players stuff, reward them, make them excited, force them to make changes, people will quit. I am right now farming an web event on another mmo im playing to get a rare scroll praying to summon a good monster. Yes I can pay real money for the scroll but im f2p there. The game is basically forcing me to login because I want a chance to summon a scroll that can give me a good monster. The name of the game is Summoners war chronicles. Try it, its very cool anime mmo, very f2p friendly!! FlyFF is stuck behind, it needs to understand the new mmorpg style, the gatcha style. It cannot be a successful game the way it is. Spoiler alert: it will die like the other one.

@@tamir0s Your message is REALLY long so I honestly won't bother to answer to every single point you made separately, but my short answer to that is that you're absolutely right. As things currently stand, Flyff really doesn't have much to do. And not just for F2P, even P2Ws are struggling to find fun ways to kill time in the game aside from just doing PvP and dungeons in the end-game, but even that comes with a high entry fee. It's kind of a fine line between "being too slow to progress in F2P" and "nothing to work for aside from EXP as P2W", so neither side really comes out as a winner. A lot of people see my own approach to the game as copium, and maybe to some extent they are right. But it's only half the truth. I actually genuinely enjoy the F2P approach despite its shortcomings, there's something about the difficulty and the long, hard effort that compels me to play it. But well, that's not to say that many think the same way - I already know I am a crazy guy xD To me, playing Flyff as an F2P is limiting, but that's also where the creative aspect to catching up with the rest comes in. I can't afford to make any high-level gear, but I can afford to buy it eventually. I can use that to farm more money myself and generate penya for better investments on gear for characters that are actually meant to progress. I actually recently afforded my first +8 set that I can use to farm dungeons - and given the profit margin, the real moneymaking is only yet to begin and will only start adding up. Flyff to me as an experience isn't about just leveling one character and trying to reach the top with the others as soon as you can. Of course that IS the ultimate goal, but I treat the game as a journey of its own. I am not really bothered by the new content updates nor do I care that I don't get to play them yet, they'll still be there if I eventually do reach the level one day (and assuming servers will still stand by then 😂). I'm honestly not too driven by the sense of linear progression, but by the fact how successful do I feel in my entirety and that I get to enjoy the journey along with my friends. The key for me in Flyff is that, while the game is very grind-heavy and it's very easy to be bothered by how unfair the game is for everyone, is to not be too serious about it in the first place. I'm enjoying progression at a pace that I'm personally satisfied with, and honestly it's not the kind of progression that many others would be happy with. But those little steps like affording that new set of gear through a little farming, having those small bite-sized experiences makes the game all the more meaningful for me, and the fact that I don't have that much time to invest on the game anyway, I generally find the little time that I do have to spend always enjoyable. It's not enough of mindless grinding to tire me out, and the company makes it all the more better x) I don't care about reaching maximum level anytime soon, since there's nothing there anyway. But with all that being said, the game IS on a road to destruction, and without changes in their practice the game will eventually perish. It is just too simple and demanding for it to keep players engaged without feeling like they're not getting enough worth out of the experience. And I really hope that they'll do something to improve on it, or it'll really be it someday. Sorry if this message might be a little bit incohesive, there's so many thoughts about this topic at the same time and I DID just wake up! 😂 Thanks for sharing your views though, what you're saying is definitely something that has to be taken into account! But well, as long as I stand, I do want to stick by the game and for whatever it's worth, share my joys with everyone and tell them how I get enjoyment out of the F2P experience despite its lackluster nature ^^
@tamir0s
@tamir0s 10 месяцев назад
@@emenalus im glad you enjoy the game on your own. End game in an mmo might be really boring for many mmorpg games out there. Its mostly PVP and some end game dungeons so the f2p hard grind might be the reason to actually login. I always feel like I want to comeback and start a char and lvl it but then I know that at some point at around lvl 80 ill get bored because a lot is locked behind the paywall. I understand you can buy upgraded items from others but here you lose the excitement of actually upgrading your own gear. Its almost like playing a Pokémon game without to be able to catch the pokemon but instead to buy it from someone else. I already did the hard grind and lvled my char to 130 and got it to max when I was a kid. I had time and I took it slowly like you. I quit the game cause I couldn't keep up with the updates. Every update is basically, youre done in 1 second if you pay a lot or done in a year if youre f2p. Imagine me quitting a game I really like because its hard for me to play it without to pay. In universe I felt the same but now: as a spender!! After they removed the double fcoins event I needed around 300$ to get a +10 set only! Hell no. hey, can you tell me why I have lag/low fps, I live in the Netherlands every day so I choose the EU server, 1gb fiber optic internet, a gaming computer that can handle new titles, even on an old laptop a year ago univers worked normally and now it's a failure, you have any advice on how to set it, maybe you could make a video about the settings you use?
@emenalus
@emenalus 10 месяцев назад
Hey again! I did respond to your comment earlier, but I suppose you didn't receive it? Check it out, I left some instructions there for you to follow :) For general technical advice though, do mind that lagging and poor connection are caused by utterly different reasons! If you're having low FPS, then that means something's wrong on your hardware/software. Since your PC apparently is some tougher steel on the market, I'm presuming that the browser you're using is handicapping you. The game doesn't run too well on certain browsers as far as I'm aware, and in most cases you should double-check your browser's settings for whether it's allowed to draw as much power from your computer as it needs. If you're having poor latency (response time to actions in the game), consider checking whether you're playing in an optimal server. Your internet should be fine, but if you played in an American server for example, you should expect some latency solely due to the distance x) Follow the recommendations on my previous comments and if you're still having issues, do consider joining the Flyff Universe's official Discord server for more technical advice or searching about browsers for Flyff Universe on the internet. This is largely an issue with the game, and I'm sure there should be more than enough material to go on. Good luck with getting your game fixed! :)
