A hot transmission can cause failure in a 99-04 Ford Superduty. The stock transmission cooler is very small and can be easily upgraded with minimal parts and time, to a known cooler that provides excellent cooling power. My truck is a 2000 F350 7.3L Diesel and I just upgraded the transmission, so I thought it would be wise to add a larger trans cooler to preserve its' life.
The new cooler is a stock cooler from a 05-07 Ford Superduty. This new one is almost 4x larger than the stock one from my truck, and bolts right in using the same bolt holes. The old one is a The only thing you will need extra, is 1/2" hose (6ft), 3/8 to 1/2 hose adapters, new hose clamps, and 2 bolts, about 1/2" longer than stock.
- 05-07 Trans cooler: Part# 5C3Z7A095CA (You can buy new or get a good used one like I did)

*️⃣The hose clamps listed above will work for the 3/8 AND 1/2" hose. I had bought the next size up and they only fit the 1/2" hose. I had to get smaller ones for the 3/8". So the one listed above is the next size smaller and should work better*️⃣
