Today I'm going to build a simple Jig to solve a common problem with small bandsaws.
Easy to make it will help you a lot in your woodworking projects.
A couple of pieces of scrap plywood is enough to make your life in the workshop easier.

That is brilliant, and I don't understand why people can't just accept this is a great addition to a small bandsaw and not everyone has thousands to splurge on a fully equiped workshop. you made it yourself useing other tools you have made yourself so well done you and take no notice of the negative questions. I'm subbed.

Thank you very much for your kind thoughts. I believe the question I've been asked is not negative or argumentative, he is just unaware that I don't have a table saw. Those who follow the channel know that I started with a drill , a dremel and an orbital sander and that I'm slowly building everything I need for an organized workspace. Not everyone knows, so every questions is legit. I will continue to share what I do because it can help others solve problems or find inspiration (and also because I really enjoy making videos). Thanks again for your support.

What a great solution! I have a very small shop and a small bandsaw and big drill press are the only stationary tools i can place. I have a hand circular saw but it isn't suitable for precision work. I use the bandsaw for all precision work but setting it accurately is always a struggle. Your tool would absolutely help! ❤

I'm glad to have helped you, for me it was a big problem because even I only have a small circular saw and I use the band saw a lot. I use this jig all the time, it's quick to set up, precise and practical. Thanks for letting me know.

I don’t know why you wouldn’t make those cuts on a table saw. The jig is nice. The filming is great…but the question remains why?

I don't have a table saw at the moment, just a small circular saw, so I make a lot of cuts with my band saw. Having the guide perfectly parallel is very important especially if you have to resaw thick pieces. The two test cuts I make at the end are just to demonstrate that if the bandsaw guide is parallel you can get a lot of accuracy. Thank you very much for your time and support, hope I answered your question.

A mitre saw would be even better for that type of cut but not everybody has one. It's also worth pointing out that cutting small pieces, such as dowel plugs, on either a mitre or table saw is dangerous and I tend to find that the cut pieces fly all over the place when cut on my mitre saw.

I use the band saw a lot, I find it much safer than tools with spinning blades, obviously it depends on the use, but since I don't have a table saw, the band saw is much faster instead of using guides and clamps to make cuts with the circular saw. We'll see when I get a table saw, however for non-repetitive cuts I prefer the Japanese hand saws. 😉
