Dr. Brian Foster and one of his Cataract/Glaucoma surgery patients talk about how happy he is to to not have to use glaucoma drops after getting an Istent during cataract surgery.
For those who are listening to this, it has been said that those over the age of 40 should be tested for glaucoma. This sends chills down my spine. I was diagnosed at the age of 23. If I waited until I was 40, I would be totally blind by now. I am now 58. I'm begging everyone from the age of 20 and not 40 to get tested for glaucoma.
@@anyinkengvmiranda7318 As soon as I was diagnosed, my doctor put me on glaucoma drops of various types and doses over the past 36 years. I want to also tell you to follow up with your doctor and to take your meds on a regular basis. This will prevent you from losing what sight you have left.
Yes, even though it is more prevalent in seniors, you can have glaucoma at any age. That is why we recommend yearly eye exams to everyone and every age.
Wonderful video and I like the newer approach for the treatment of Glaucoma. As a 57 year old with a family history of Glaucoma and an episode of blindness in my eye I am now going to prepare for cataract surgery in a month and the laser was just done and it was painless and really a wonderful experience. We are being proactive to treat my good eye and doctor in the NY area is treating my blind eye as well. Nice to know of doctor Foster if I need him in the Florida area.
Had cataracts removed from both eyes using Medicare. The lens covered by Medicare gave me 20/20 vision in both eyes. Was offered better lenses at an out of pocket expense of $6000. Still need cheater glasses for up close reading but can see clearly at a distance. Can see colors now too.
Same. The alternative was almost 7,000.00 out of pocket expense. I did the Medicare too and have 2020 vision. Only using reading glasses to read or see very close.
I do acupressure for my eyes religiously everyday. At this old age I no longer have the problems I used to have. I used to ask my opthalmologist what to do with floaters... nothing, dry eyes..use eye drops...glaucoma, surgery...and the universal answer...old age. Yes at this old age, sometimes I forget to take along my glasses for driving because I would need them to be sure when it gets dark. Besides, no more floaters, pressure in the eyes, dry eyes, blurry vision....We get together and exercise our eyes for 1/2 hour every day, massaging all the knuckles of our hands, our skull, our eyes, temples, ears...and breathe slowly. Check out the Bates method also. Indians from India usually don't wear glasses. They exercise their eyes everyday.
All different people and depending different the doctors . I'm glad felt better Refresh PM tube to expensive $11.00 tax every night will not dry to sleep. the dr forced me use must 5 times a day before surgery
True. There no exercise to my right lazy sometime double screen . Lot of time nasal area eyes running watery not easy at. Home. I use Humidity steam and air purifier help me calm down eyes and Deaf
If I was treated by lowering pressure more than normal, which is modern day procedure, more of my sight might have been saved years ago. When I changed doctors I was put on more intense eye drop treatment. My doctor, said to have a good reputation as a surgeon, told me the little drainage tube might not necessarily spare me from having eye drops. Another podcast referred to differences between cranial and ocular pressure being a possible factor in optic nerve damage.
I recently had a car accident about 7 months ago and I ended up having a broken collarbone and I ended up having a concussion and about 4 months ago I started noticing that my eyes are getting a little hazy and because I damaged my glasses I was using my own glasses so I went and got my eyes examined in the doctor says we're not going to give you another prescription you got cataracts and because of the car accident he want to do a full scope of everything to make sure everything was okay especially with my concussion which gave me memory loss and I'm still working on that and he says now I have to go get my lens in my eyes removed and I said to him that I noticed this like 4 months ago and I asked if the accident could of caused it and he said yes. So there you go traumatic cataracts
Here in the US Doctors, scientists, researchers, PHD’s. They have good vision and write papers on lab research and go to labs, and go to conferences, make videos, make speeches and they have their vision. BUT for people with glaucoma, the clock is ticking away before they become disabled and blind - while scientists and researchers etc continue reading, lecturing, and yes- talking away and talking about it with no course of action at all
One case mentioned in video was about uniocular vision. In case if someone has one week eye, what would be catract option for other eye viz., standard monofocal, eyhance or edof like vivity etc.
im 87 yr old 3 yr ago i had this surgery takes about 3 weeks from ist eye to 2nd and dark glasses no pain what so ever when i got rid dark glases i thiught we had a new tv all the colors were bright im still driving i recomend this to everyone that needs it in and out about 1 hr and 1/2 each eye i dont need any drops can see a long way

I was told I had glaucoma in 2015. Been on drops, and had I-stent with cataract removal. I have lost 90% optic nerve. Told by my surgery nothing more can be done.
In July I had SLT at Eye Associates in Santa Fe, NM. I still have to continue using eye drops. How much longer is normal for continuing drops? I have tried calling and the recording on your line will not accept my call?
I heard about the device implant and it was done by a doctor in Florida saved a patient’s eye. Why is this method performed or recommended on all patients who are diagnosed narrow angle glaucoma instead of laser?
Hi good morning people I'm a glaucoma and Cataract patient since 35 years and on treatment but resent have implant the pressure is good but can't see well so what to do to have it right please help me
Hi . I’m 55 years bc old.I haveglaucoma surgery 25years ago.I have used glaucoma 19:08 drops everyday. Now I have cataracts . Can I do cataracts surgery? Please give me advice, thank you so much.
Sir my mother had cataract surgery without knowing she already had glucoma but after months of cataract operation she got to know about glucoma right now she is on eye drop but is it possible to do glucoma surgery now??
Dr foster, I have partial not seen but when I go dr office I can not see full screen but if I am home I can see whole I close my other eye n can see Whole picture , can u tell me why ?
Where are eye drops that eliminate cataracts? Why has no one developed this? There are videos here on eye drops for dogs that eliminate cataracts but none for humans. Can someone please answer this? What is concerning is the RELEASE FORM all the eye Drs in my area want me to sign Before this surgery or they will not perform it on me. The Dr is held 100% Not responsible if something goes wrong in the surgery/treatment. This is highly concerning for me as I assume 100% of the risk. Thanks
Cataracts is an eye condition for the elderly. Cataracts surgery is a multi million dollar industry. Scientist are not interested in making drops for cataracts because that will not make lots of money. Few doctors have come up with some drops and capsules that can improve your vision. Try Can-c eye drops, Purxcel capsules, eye bright and so on.
Drop eyes all different depend they will feel . But I do pressures of drop eyes from sinus with 🤕 stop used . I use every night Refresnh PM will not dry to sleep. Right now I follow to my Dr. Ordered me must 5 times a day, I found good one no pain or pressure those this one Refresh PM ..Tired of grease and tear running on eyeglasses from eye drop😈

there is two German doctors use two different ways to get vision back 1_Dr bernhared Sabel in Germany he is using electrical wires on head 2_(i do not remember his name) i will look for it for you) he is using natural ways , he lives in America i wish i have money to reach these doctors , try to see them on google and RU-vid
I, personally, am still pursuing the eye drops approach to eventually perhaps rid the cataracts. However, my family was rather insistent that I see an eye surgeon anyway - only for consultation. Was told that a person should be completely rid of any "dry eye syndrome or disease" and blepharitus - granulated eyelids, before possibly having any surgery done. They suggested palming the eyes with warm compresses for 5 minutes morning and night, plus gently wiping the eye lids (making sure lids are shut so as to NOT touch the actual eye) using a product like OcuSoft lid scrub Plus -- otherwise granulated flakes (feels like minute kernels of scratchy sand) can cause a surgical operation to remove the cataract to be unsuccessful and can cause scarring infection and to wait at least six months - allowing time to heal any predondition.

In pseudo exfoliation flakes or fibers from the eyes natural lens clog the eyes drainage system (trabecular meshwork) causing the eye pressure to go high thus glaucoma. Probably best to do a search on pseudo exfoliation for detailed info .You can do a search on RU-vid for as well . There are many videos about this subject .Hope this helps!

Im supposed to have cataract surgery but Im fearful.. i heard there are drops that can clear the cataracts..is that true? I really dont want laser surgery on my eyes..
$2900.00 per eye for the best lens. There are 3 lens to chose from. Medicare/Medicaid or you regular insurance pays for the surgery with you paying the copay. They do one eye at a time. A couple of weeks at a time.

I agree with him because when some friend of mine had a brother he had glaucoma and the doctor recommended that he smoke marijuana while it didn't help it got worse and he ended up dying of lung cancer
Completely blind in one eye for 3 yrs during COVID. Had new lens both eyes. Doc do not tell you all the side effects and drawbacks from surgery. Been 6mths...still have both negative and positive dystopia. very very annoying... Is not going away. Doc didn't tell me about 250$ that I could up grade lens. Do it. These free lens are crap. I can see but I live permanently with flashes in the corners of both eyes and corner shadows. Had to get glasses. I will never see as well as I could with my own lens... So up grade... If you can upgrade. Free lens are crap

I have been taking drops since I was 35. I am now 74. I see doctors several times a year . I am also blind in my left eye from a blunt trauma. I could see 20-15 in my good eye but within a few months it went to 20-80 my cataract has gotten much worse . Things are cloudy now. In 1999 I had two emergency surgeries to try to save the eye. A total of about 8 hours . As I said I am blind , I don’t even have a lens etc in blind eye. I am close to having cataract surgery. Since my pressure has been under control for the last ten years ( around 16) no surgery for glaucoma is imminent. I’ve been told for 22 years to wear protective glasses. ( to protect my good eye) I’m assuming after cataract surgery I won’t need glasses but wondering if I should wear them anyway? I’m an unusual case. I can’t say I’m looking forward to another surgery.
From what I've watched, if you get monfocal lens you will need glasses for either far or close things. But if you reciceve a multifocal lens for your eye then you may not need glasses except for very close and maybe other minimal cases.
I hope you did not do the surgery I am an unusual case too. I have one eye and did the surgery and it completely destroyed my life. cataract surgery is not as simple and cut-and-dry as they make it out to be. I hope you make out okay
@@TheRealNewBlackMusic Thanks for sharing your experience and hope things get easier for you. Having read more and seen more testimonies from patients and doctors, the monofocal gives better quality and lower possibility of dissatisfaction due to dysphotopsias that is found in multi-focal IOLs. That being said, even with a monofocal lens, things can go wrong if the IOL power was not correct due to a range of factors. What exactly happened with you?
@@anassyria5176 my optic nerve was short-circuited I put one of the First videos of me trying to find a Solution on my channel but there is no solution. I'm going to New York eye and ear infirmary in Manhattan today as a matter of fact to see their neuro-ophthalmologist. the reality is we need drops to treat cataracts and not surgeries , it will be much safer, less of a moneymaker for the medical industry but much safer. Blessings to you
I have a chronic, auto-immune disease, which caused Cataracts and Glaucoma for my right eye. I have to say diet is important. Caffeine is something that will affect it, research a little bit at home what "High Eye pressure" is. Consult with your doctor monthly or per several months. In the beginning, be transparent and absolutely open up with the experience you've had. If you skip details, you only harm yourself. Nowadays, I can only mainly see through my left eye. My right eye is able to see like a through a straw and very close object, when I forcefully focus my sight on the right side. Otherwise the image focuses more on the healthier eye.
Well you know I was on the internet and I personally know of people who have severe pain from getting laser treatment done to their eyes and if you want to learn more watch on RU-vid I surgery that went wrong some people have had laser and it was so painful that they ended up committing suicide can you imagine I think people should do their own research instead of watching videos all the time and thinking of this is the only video I should watch
I had laser surgery and did not feel a thing. I just sort of startled when I heard the bang from the machine. Worked wonderful, got the sight back in my left eye! Now to wait until they do the right, got glaucoma in that one and it's much slower growing!
