Another great review, Sarah. What I love about your reviews is you are independent. Many other reviewers watch or read preceding reviews and just regurgitate the same unoriginal stuff. You’re truly different and your work has authenticity and integrity. You are what TFL used to be about and please keep up the good work. Regarding your review of the LS, full disclosure, I own this car and agree with everything you said. Not because you gave it a positive review but because you were accurate. However, I wish you would have covered the autonomous driving and safety features, they are second to none. I look forward to following your career and future reviews.
Worst video I've ever seen all you ever shown was you not the buttons not the controls very little of the inside and how to work things less of you and more of the automobiles
The most beautiful sedan currently on the market that makes the 7 series and S class look like 10 years old designs. The all new LS absolutely looks like the work of arts inside and out.
That's one sexy review of the Lexus LS500h without actually even trying. Straight forward, honest review. I remember a local reviewer saying he's not very impressed with the interior and exterior compared to germans and i can't believe it. Glad you love the LS gorgeous! 👍👍👍
We have recently taken the delivery of a 2018 LS500 Hybrid with execute package. It's definitely smooth and quiet, unless you engage the sport modes. On top of that, it's incredibly stable. It feels like a moving palace inside. The boot is not as big as the petrol model but still big enough to fit clubs. A big part of Lexus market are golfers. I like how it is not as vulgar as the German brands. It does not shout in your face that I'm rich but simply delivers a ride quality that is on par with the germans and a clearly superior build quality. Everything is literally solid and built to last with topnotch material.
People keep griping about CVT.. but let's be honest Honda Nissan Subaru always have had CVT issues. But Toyota/Lexus on the other hand never has major issues. Scotty KILMER even talked about CVT transmissions. 😎😎 Toyota has perfected the transmission to be seamless reliable and smooth.
Thoroughly enjoyed your review this week. This car seems to me to be a Japanese Maybach with as you said Toyota reliability. Keep up the great content and look forward to your next review.
Listening to that engine sound on my phone made it sound like a Yamaha Jetski. Other than that weird, the car looks amazing, looks really inviting for comfort and I think it's a good competitor to German brands.
Great review, Sarah. I enjoy your insight and impressions of the various features of the cars you review. I also happen to agree with you, that Lexus is probably one of the best cars on the planet. They have been a high-quality manufacturer since day one! Keep up the good work.
2 things I don't like is 1: the daytime running lights. I just don't see them as well as I see a round traditionally placed light and 2: "piped"in engine noise. My ford has it and I hate it. For me, I want as smooth and as quiet a ride as possible.
9:12 I feel exactly the same. what's wrong with a normal shifter that you don't have to look at to know what gear you're in? now you can't feel what gear you're in......you have to actually look to see. it's so backwards and slow......and in some cases dangerous. like the guy that got killed because he thought he put his truck in park but it wasn't and got run over when he got out of the car and died
I love this new LS. It's probably the only luxury sedan I'd want to own, except for the Porsche Panamera which easily cost 50% more. I probably actually will buy a LS as my last car when I retire, although I'll go for the non-hybrid AWD version because I hate the way this CVT-auto combo works. It just feels unnatural and ruins the driving experience. I don;t understand how anyone can complain about the price of this car, considering where the competition sits. Also, there is simply no other luxury sedan that will be as reliable as this, which only adds to its value.
Her old deleted RU-vid channel: archive.is/VK4ck And this is a thread talking about it being deleted: www.reddit.com/r/asktransgender/comments/7r5wrp/anyone_know_what_happened_to_sarahndippity/
This competes a lot more with an S560 than an S63 just by price and horsepower. Wonder how they all (S class, 7 series, LS, etc) compare to the new A8 that just came out... Or whether its worth spending more money than a car like the Cadillac CT6 for the extra features of an S-class that is in a very close class.
That is a car you absolutely don't buy for the long-term. You lease it in. I know it's Japanese, but there is still a lot of moving parts and motors in that thing. So much complexity
They used that same transmission in the LC 500h too and I don't hear people complaining about it. Would be weird for Lexus to release a car with a bad transmission anyway, since they seem to take perfectionism overly serious. It's a Toyota after all. But if you don't want to risk using that transmission, the LS 500 non-h has a real 10-speed (once again the same as LC 500 non-h).
You should get your Dad to test drive it - plenty of room in the back for a booster seat. You’ll enjoy watching Pokemon on the rear seat entertainment.
Great review. Please never say you're weird again. You're not weird. You're just relaying your experience and that's why we're watching. Love the "angry catfish".
You know I not a fan of that grille design the past few years. Looks like a manta ray swimming to you, weird. No trunk space, how are your buddies going to get their clubs to the clubhouse with you. Use to be a thing that trunk space could carry 4 sets of clubs. Also in 1990 Lexus used to advertise the smoothess of the v8. You could balance a nickle on edge on the top of the manifold at 4000 rpm. And I tried it. Amazing engine smoothness.

It's funny how so many 'journalist' yap about how hard the touchpad is, it's actually very easy. I don't know what lack of hand eye coordination and IQ some people are missing. I understand it could be awkward and weird the first 10 minute you're dealing with it, but anyone with a little commonsense and uses a smart phone, practically 99% of people under 50 by now, shouldn't have a problem with it.
hybrid's are the worse of the worse....in addition to the EV side, you still have gas powered engine and fluid driven transmission to maintain....I understand the " range " issues of total EV...but hybrids are a bad investment because you know have two systems to maintain//worry about failures. Besides....how many folks buy a car to drive cross country....how many folks travel more than 200 miles in a day ? delivery drivers ? taxis ? if you need to drive cross country,...that is what a rental is for.
Lexus builds great cars and some I'd love to own - just not this one, even with the magical seats. Sign me up for the GSF instead, an all motor V8 with Lexus quality and reliability.
Nice review. I care more about your opinions than just a bunch of specs. I can get the specs anywhere and most of them are unimportant. However well thought out opinions are priceless.
My assessment of the Lexus when it first came out in the 90’s is the same now, that much money for a Toyota?? To many other nice really fast great handling cars out there to choose from.
Doesn't matter if it's a Toyota when it's a great car. Better build quality than anyone else, resulting in legendary reliability, and for a lower price than the european competition. What more could you ask for? Lexus doesn't build cars for enthusiasts who lust after VWs (like Lamborghinis, Bugattis or Porsches), but for people who need a car that wil always give them a relaxing driving experience and maximum comfort. you know, the people who would buy a Mercedes Benz E-Class or S-Class.
Darkonius Have you ever worked on Toyota’s? Including the Lexus? I’ve seen dozens in the shop, very good vehicles but no better (or worse) than a lot of other vehicles out there. They’ve gotten overly proud of their products the last 12-15 years.
Great review as always Sarah! I do NOT understand the transmission setup in this car. There are several 7, 8, 9, and 10sp transmissions out there. Why use this weird dual transmission setup?
Really good review. It may be just me, but I really don't understand why Lexus has covered the entire engine in plastic. It's as if they're ashamed of it. I really wish I could actually see the engine and its beauty, instead of it being hidden under all that plastic. Does it even come with a dipstick to check the oil, unlike some BMWs? I've heard that in Japan, people don't check the oil in their car, so the car may be running on the same oil that it left the factory with for the first few years of its life, unless it's checked as part of a service package.
Sarah you are a beautiful reviewer. I like her personality. She knows she's working it. She knew guys would react to the message future of the car. So let me react. ..... You look like you enjoy a big fatty .
