Actually Rolex is not that “Classy”. Its a brand to show off, look at me. This is what the majority of people think. JLC for instance is far more classy to name 1.
It is not automatic don't have time for battery change and automatic sweeping seconds are a beauty, hefty steel+ brass movement reminds something solid on wrist that lasts lifetime
The problem is once you convert that to AUD, its too close to buying it new from the boutique. Cheaper yes, but for AUD1000 more, you'd get it brand new, with a modern solar movement as well and without the 'must de' on the dial.
Agreed, I actually own this reference, my dad gave it to me, and I hate the seconds hand, a constant reminder that it’s quartz, not mechanical with how it ticks. I’d like to one day eventually upgrade to a manual wind, solid gold 18k tank one day but there are a number of other watches I want to check off my list first before getting around to it.
That's very affordable for a Cartier. You can't really get a watch from a luxury brand (even entry level) for much less than that - nice watches are expensive!
"Must de Cartier" was a term I've heard was translated/marketed to English consumers as a "must-have". Model-wise, it looks very much like a standard Tank Louis but much more affordable.
I think thats a fake cause original cartier doesn't have the seconds hand and its quartz cause in automatic watch the seconds hand moves smoothly no tick-tick
