It’s so weird, I love BR540, Greenwich Village and many on this list but I cannot stand Instant Crush! People rave about it but as you noted, it is quite different to BR540 but it also just has a really unpleasant scent to my nose. Haven’t smelt it on anyone so maybe I’d enjoy it on someone else. Not a safe blind buy!
The new Sol de Janeiro cream gives me BR540 vibes. The cream is called Beija Flor Elasti-Cream, Cheirosa 68. But it’s very soft scent. I hope they make a body spray!
Banana Republic's Rosewood Amor is a great affordable dupe, too! It lasts a long time on my skin on most days, but on very hot summer days, I have found it to last for only 3-4 hours.
I have so many bottles of cloud. It has been my go to. I hadn't heard of baccarat until I tried cloud. I finally purchased and it's so similar I almost felt I didn't need it, but it's not bad having a more sophisticated version I suppose, so I will keep. I didn't love the cloud intense. To me there is only a slight difference and I didn't feel the staying power that I do with cloud.
Aristocrat by Ajmal is another dupe for BR540. I have it, it's a little bit sweeter, but really nice and long lasting 😍 Happy to find out there so many dupes for this perfume.
imo in the stars body mist from b&bw is very similar to br540, apart from the sweetness when you first spray it also i think it’d be amazing if you make a video recommending some oud perfumes that are good for newbie (like me🥺) bc i love your channel and feel like your recommendations are affordable and accessible for a pretty broke college student like me😂
The fragrance note “oak moss” ALONE smells exactly like baccarat rouge 540. Exactly. So every fragrance that has prominent oak moss that’s why people will compare it to BR540. Basically anyone buying BR540 is paying $400+ for oak moss. Lol
I finally ordered samples I'm still waiting for BUT I really hope you're right lol I LOVE an oak moss note 💕 the voce vivas have a beautiful oakmoss in both, they made me realize that I do love oakmoss.
I felt the same about Oud for glory by Lataffa, not sweet enough for me taste. You should try Amethyst by Lataffa, it it is beautiful, uplifting playful rose scent. I just feel and smell beautiful when wearing it. I am saving it for spring and summer. But I definitely think it could be worn in the winter at night time when going somewhere nice. ❤️

Yes thanks for this video Paulina. I love Baccarat 540 for it's simplicity but the edp is all bandage and the extrait (which has no bandage smell) does not perform on my skin. My partner couldn't even smell it standing next to me. I will give Orientica a try. 😊
I have the same problem with the extrait. I just love it, but it doesn't really project on me. The Orientica doesn't have that weird note and is just terrific! And the bottle is GORGEOUS!
The company DOSSIER has a wonderful Baccarat Rouge dupe called Ambery Saffron that you really should try, if you are able. $49 a bottle, but they have sales all the time. If you buy several perfumes you can get a massive discount. I have gone through three bottles of it in the last couple of years and it is just a gem of a fragrance. I have over 100 bottles of perfume, yet I keep reaching for it. The Zara dupe has a "burnt tire" note that keeps popping up on me that the Dossier doesn't have. Because of you, I purchased the Orientica Amber Rouge and that one is a love love love as well. THANK YOU for your terrific suggestions and reviews. I just love you, you make me soooooo happy!!!! I love the smell of Baccarat Rouge. I have a decant. However, I am allergic and get a skin reaction 😭 I will have to try Burberry Her or something from this list. I have Cloud by Ariana Grande & tho beautiful & similar as though it is Baccarat's bubblier sister, I enjoy it a lot, it is just not the same as Baccarat to me. Baccarat is like the alluring older sister that reads mysterious poetry on the beach in the evenings.
Omg I thought I was the only one! I literally get itchy every time I spray BR540. I ended up returning it for the extrait and that one doesn’t make me itchy. I did buy me Burberry Her the 5.0 fl oz bottle from Ulta (online) for less than $200. Another great dupe is from Oakcha Sweven.
@@leilani_808 Ur not alone! Haha. Yes, I got like an itchy rash from it and it would not go away for weeks. Actually i can still feel it a little. If I just spray it on a thick jacket that I am wearing or wear two shirts, I can sort of get away with it. But, I'm not gonna risk it. Wow I am shocked that the Extrait does not have the same effect. That's pretty cool. I wonder if the ingredients can be compared and we could narrow down what is causing the reaction. Hmmm. I will have to get a sample of that. And ur other recommendations. Tx!
Burberry Her is just strawberry 🍓 on my skin…both Baccarat and Her were created by Francis Kurkdjian. I just bought Aurora to see if it is similar. I love Baccarat but l need to save that bottle for special occasions 😬

I would say yes, they pretty much all do imo. I got intense cafe vibes more so but at least its dense as opposed to br540 being more airy and does the disappearing act ie ambroxan
A good friend of mine wears instant crush, I wear BR extrait. I often get complimented on baccarat and she only gets told how potent and strong/ suffocating her fragrance is 😅 maybe it's also because she's an oversprayer like I am. You can get away with overspraying baccarat but imo you have to be very light handed with instant crush
I own 540 as well as a few others mentioned here. The only one i think is a dupe would be Cloud and it’s still not spot on. More like a sister. Her smells nothing at all like 540. I actually can’t stand the smell of it. Everyone is now saying Sol’s new lotion smells identical. It does not! At all! I think everybody just wants to compare 540 in their heads bc it’s an expensive scent.
I would say br540 dna it that ambroxan-ambergris mixture. But on the other hand I recently got boys from kilian which have cedar and amberwood and in drydown I feel like I have br540 on me 😂 I get vibe from blackbird (olympic orchids) and they also share cedar. 🤷🏻 but Cloud for example TO ME is not even close to br540. I don’t know why. Lol
But I have the same experience with Cloud that u have with burberry her. Once my friend came to me and I ask her „are u wearing br540 right now?” And she said „it’s cloud” 😂
I have had Baccarat Rouge for years (the original EDP version). I remember when I first bought it, I wasn’t sure that I liked it. It grew on me but I really do not wear it very often. I much prefer MFK’s Oud Satin Mood. I find Baccarat Rouge to be a very formal fragrance and these days I do not go to any formal events. Be Layered makes great dupes for Delina and Delina Exclusive; First Kiss and First Kiss Exclusive. Dossier makes a fabulous Love by Kilian dupe called Floriental Marshmellow.
This just goes to show how much people smell things differently. Burberry is very berry heavy & a bit musky to me.....and GV is more fresh airy aquatic & pineapple-ish(even though pineapple isn't a note).
OMG Paulina! I need your opinion on the Al Haramain Amber Oud line 🙏🏻 they actually have one perfume that apparently is very similar to the extrait version of Baccarat as well. I'm soooo intrigued!!! I'm so close to buy them all 🙈🙊
I have Al Harriman Amber Oud Rogue. I went to the department store, had them spray me with 540, went home and compared the two. They smelled identical to me.
I feel like sweet and airy saffron = baccarat rouge. Pretty simple. I can’t deal with the rubber glove smell of baccarat and other saffron fragrances. This is why I’ve decluttered cloud and also Burberry her. I’m watching so I can be sure not to accidentally purchase any of these. 😂
Shame on me. I missed that part. I am about to buy red Temptation, but if you would have said that after using it a while you don't like it for some reason, I might change my mind. But all good. Soooory 💕🍀🌺
