they use every question as an opportunity to be funny and real at the same time. It brings me great pleasure to see dave attell make jeff ross laugh at that gollum joke. You rarely hear Jeff laugh where he snorts in a high pitch !

Larry king was in comedy central’s roast. Where comedians had time to prep jokes. And none of them made Jeff Ross laugh near as hard as Dave attells joke he came up with in less than 2 seconds…..tells you all you need to know. Dave’s the 🐐 💯

I met Ross in the street in the West Village around 2002 when I was living there and said I liked his work. He was gracious, said, "Thanks, man." I met Attell a couple times, once in NY in 2013 (the day Paul Walker died) and last year in Albuquerque (I said during photo-ops, "You should retire out here and do guest-shots on Better Call Saul." He replied, "Yeah, Oedenkirk should throw me a bone" (they both wrote for SNL in the early '90s).

Anyone think Jeff & Dave had the questions before they went on? Having never been on a talk show I suspect that in most cases, the guest has the questions in advance. Regardless of whether they had the questions in advance, both were very funny. I met Dave back in 1985 or 1986 (so long ago I can't recall exactly) doing "Open Mikes" at Governor's Comedy Club on Long Island. We were both starting out, and I was a bit ahead of Dave in that I already had five minutes of solid material, and Dave had not yet developed his trademark style. I think Dave was going to NYU at the time, and we met a few times at bars and diners in the East Village. I stopped doing stand-up comedy in 1987, and obviously Dave kept going and he's had a great career. Once I stopped doing comedy, Dave and I did not stay in touch. Dave was a nice guy back then, and I hope he continues doing stand up for a long time because he is one of the best in the business.

These two guys are two of the best in comedy today and have been for many yrs. now. Dave Attell had a show called...."Up all night" and it was awesome. I wish he would go and do that again. Love these guys.

1:45 "Oh I got it"...a question was asked and that was Dave's initial response before it was answered. This is an insight into the mind of a comedian. It's tuning into the moment, or the situation or the event and "getting" the retort that comically resonates. Now, I got it for Dave's hidden talent question. I thought he was going say he could smell Jeff's "fartpressions" without hearing them and know who was being impersonated. I'm here all week.
