I'm a footballer and I believe lifting heavy in season will lead to muscle soreness or maybe injury and in both situation u will loose your short term plan and succes as well. I prefer lifting light weight and stay sharp and injury free.

Interesting input mate. Let me ask you though; is lifting heavy causing that soreness or is your loading strategy off causing unnecessary spikes? I’d highly suggest you watch my video on in-season training where I go over two really valuable training principles; microdosing and the Minimal Effective Dose - these will help you big time.

@footxfit it is not just about lifting heavy weight, when u train 3 times a week and play on weekends and then add extra lifting, the muscles won't have enough time to recover they get sore and then the majority of pressure goes to joints while lifting. This is what causes the injuries. But the other vid about in season had good points👍

@@FootballExJ there is a huge number of pro footballers - including the ones I personally work with - and teams that have team practices 5-6x per week and have dedicated gym time 1-3x per week outside of team training. I’m not saying you should mimic that workload. All I’m saying is that with the proper application of *principles* adding 1-2 lifting sessions per week will have a really positive effect on your performance.

bro first time when lifting heavy u might feel soreness but after a time u will not feel it
