As an INFP jack-of-all-trades, job hopping is my routine. I can build a house, machine a transmission, install hvac, install enormous solar arrays, bartend, serve tables and banquets, clerk a hotel front desk, etc. etc. the list goes on. But the one thing that brings me joy that I never do outside the privacy of my own room, is play guitar and sing. When you said to remember what we did as kids, I remember how much I enjoyed music class as a child, and how proud I was to be on stage during concerts. I have to admit how scary the idea is now, to go back up there in front of others and do what brings me joy, but… well, in my heart I know its what I want to do. Thank you for the inspiration.

So, I'm on the hunt for a new job, yet again. When things get toxic or repetitive, I just can't stick around. Here's my tip for fellow INFPs: save up! Seriously, no matter how small the amount. I knew I'd eventually outgrow my last job, so I squirreled away as much as I could. It's like my personal "emergency fund for job-hopping" Lol. As a single mom, trust me, it's a game-changer. Now, I can switch jobs without stressing about finances in between.

Ive nearly lost count of how many jobs i've had. I think im close to 20. Ive been fired, or more commonly "laid off" from literally 50% of my jobs. My last job i just ghosted because my ex wife died and i was emotionally overwhelmed and couldnt focus at work anyways. Oh yeah, my coworker threatened me too and my boss poo pooed it and didnt deal with the threats. I didnt earn a living wage aftrr working there 7 years. So i just left. A year later i still get occasional texts or they peek at my linkedin. Just leave me alone.

Hi, I'm am an INFP and 46. For many years I hopped jobs, not being able to keep me interested in any one. With a family to take care of and no regular income in a country like India, I really began doubting myself, getting crushed by other people's disbelief. I loved your video as it spoke about me. Yes, I am a freelance trainer and love the fact that each new project allows me to put in fresh energy and switch it off as soon as the training is over and then start all over again. Thanks.

I’m 28 years old, and I’ve had around 25 jobs, maybe even more. 🤣🤣 I constantly jump from one job to another. As a child, I wanted to be an archaeologist because I’m a free spirit and an adventurer. I’m interested in different cultures and religions. Social and political issues also fascinate me. I need a job with meaning, where I can contribute something positive to society and possibly make a difference. I have a very creative, intellectually analytical mind and am extremely curious. I'm a trained office administrator, but that job makes me very unhappy and sick, and now I want to change my career. However, I’m still undecided and can't settle on a specific path yet. Maybe someone has some good tips for me.

INFP here and I've worked as a Freelance SEO Content Writer & Editor for 2 and a half years. I loved the flexibility and stability, but I felt stagnant and lonely so I left it for a full-time and onsite job. That job turned out to be toxic & dull, so I quit after only 3 months. I have a new job now as a part-time content writer with q hybrid setup. But I cant help but wonder changing careers and looking for another freelance/part-time that is not related to writing. Should I be an Online ESL Teacher? A barista? Retail associate? Its just sooo hard to find a job that is not dead-end/boring but also not stressful 😭

I used to work a library reference desk and i loved it so much. You never knew what sort of adventures or questions you might get each day. Then covid happened and cut backs were made and we moved to find work. I think that is what makes it harder to find a fulfilling job after. I already know what its like to be excited to get ready for work and be a little sad when its time to clock out and I felt so useful and appreciated there, and i was actively involved in connecting people with community resources. Since then I've worked in food service, hospitality, retail and office administration. I have made more money in each of them than i did at the library, but I feel so utterly replaceable 😮‍💨 this video literally perfectly explains my struggles with life at this very moment😅

I experienced the same thing in a library setting, unfortunately they are on the way out as we know it. Heartbreaking and no job seems to transfer. I loved the people, the variety, and the absence of money 😊 I just really felt like "myself" there, the only place I ever have 😢

I’ve had more than 20 jobs since high school. I think it’s challenging to find work that checks all the boxes. - enjoyable work - good work culture - decent hours/pay/job security Now out of those, pick two… lol That’s mostly been my experience. One of those three pillars will either be missing or will become missing eventually via new changes. I’ve got my hobbies that I enjoy, classic “you can’t make money with that, especially in tHiS eCoNomY” etc etc -but that’s sort of the beauty of it, too. The hobbies themselves are meaningful and can give life energy and be healing. Trying to force such hobbies/gifts into a capitalistic mold in order to market to people always ends up feeling disingenuous or meaningless to me, due to the nature of (what I’d call) the spiritual expression of these gifts. So it’s a strange thing, but all I can do is dig into that is-ness of the gift. Maybe one day it’ll realize into something if it needs to for people. I hope so. I do feel it has power for healing. But healing is far from the market place for me. 🙂 ♥️

5:42 As an INFP myself, I can deeply connect to this. Ever since I was little, I played in self made fantasy worlds. Back then, with my brother, or a friend. And the living in fantasy worlds has never left me. I remember in the first year of high school that classmates were asked what they wanted to become. I said ‘writer’ back then. And that is seen as a point of mockery. Of course, I’m aware it’s generally not very profitable. But it’s direction that I feel is so discouraged, with the way society, the job market and school are structured. School(s) prepare(s) you for the job market, which intends on making you a useful part of society, whilst being able to take part in it properly by earning your own money. Schools do not prepare you for any sort of creative endeavours. That’s just not how society is structured. And because that’s not how society is structured, it trickles down into the job market and education.

Selection is what INFPs are missing out on. Selection requires rejection of options. The reduced options, due to selection that keeps infps, not acting on any of it.

Hello, I am a pre school teacher and love teaching people things. Whenever I talk to someone they just say, " you're so wise". I also love love kids. You might by now be thinking that I love my job as a preschool teacher, no honey noooo not one bit, I honestly do it for survival. I hate the structured environment of the school, I hate that curriculum structure, I hate that am stuck inside a classroom, I hate lesson plans, I hate everything about formal teaching. I could go on and on about the things that don't work for me as a teacher. I love opening people's eyes, I love kids, I love helping the down trodden. Am dying here pease advise.

I was a preschool teacher/director for 8 years. The good thing for me was that it was a church run school so I had free reign to come up with lesson plans and new experiences for the children. I was constantly researching the best ways to teach young children in appropriate ways and I gave the children mostly play experiences. The funny part was that the children would get tested in their first year of kindergarten in Florida and their scores would be a reflection of the preschool they attended. Our school always received very high scores and after I left the scores went down. I think people thought I wasn't actually teaching the children when in reality they were learning the most with my methods. I had to quit because I finally got burned out but I still consider those the best 8 years of my life. If you hate the structure of the school you're at it may be because it is structured wrong. Most preschools do more harm to kids because they try to teach them like little kindergarten students. They are not. They are preschoolers. Maybe your answer is to find a school that gives you more autonomy. Preschools are always looking for teachers.

so much echo with my path. actually trying to combine all this experiments and hypothesis, this time learning to become a psychomotricitian. INFPs from the world, go check that job which appears more and more useful. I suppose that won't stop the never-ending cogno-creative process. but it will probably give it a lot of sense and of human alchemy, while expanding tomorrow possibilities... peace.

This really resonated with me and i now know i am an INFP. Job hopping has been the story of my life until recently. I had previously worked in HR, Financial Consulting, Business Development, Law, Accounting, Operations until recently a few years ago i got a job in marketing and i still am in it to this day 5 years in. It has satisfied my intellectual curiousity, thirst for flexibity and creativity and my need for variety which many of the jobs i had before sorely lacked. Now am thinking of going into project management 🤣🤣

I’m… not really in the realm of job seeking yet, as an 18 year old INFP. But I feel similar dissatisfaction concerning my time post high school. It’s now been a year since I finished high school and I was looking forward for it to end. It felt restricting. But when I started studying political science, I soon found out that wasn’t really it. And I quit, after consideration. I could probably keep up intellectually, though that would take me too much time for something I soon realised I wasn’t too invested in. I felt creatively and emotionally drained and not being good at planning, university was a biiig difference. It asked a lot of my subpar TE skills. I find politics interesting, but it’s not a passion. And I feel like I can’t follow a course, or work at a job that’s not closely related to a passion. I’ve really fallen into some quicksand after I put a stop to political science. I fell into a rut of inactivity and I frequently feel quite empty and unfulfilled. I’ve done a lot more in terms of seeking a new course to follow, but I’m far more anxious for it to not suit me, like political science did, than I am excited to attend and try something new. I feel the need to try something new but at the same time I feel so much resistance. And for a while I was looking for a job to do in the meantime, but I don’t want to drop myself into such unfamiliar territory like I did in uni. So I’ve not done anything in that department either.

Idk. I don't hate it. I definitely appreciate it more if a creator does everything from scratch because it's that much more effort and consideration into their work. Its a different kind of creativity to research and reorganize other works to fit a story you're trying to tell. I do hate it if they use other works (even from stock) and don't credit the source, tho. Those were created by someone at some point too and they deserve some kind of recognition for it. Tho they may not be credited in the stock source, I can always at least show where I sourced it from. Not doing so makes me feel like I'm passing it as my own and lying to the consumer.
