My sermon notes for "livin in the overflow// If you say sow" week 11: 1.) There is a certain point of maturity that you obey God just because "he said so" 2.) If you are going to live in the overflow, you have to know part of the responsibility of having more than enough is giving all the time. If you don't have a heart posture of generosity, you stop the overflow in your life. Will you give it if God says so? 3.) Embrace the mystery of God, give, and you will become more like God. Develop a heart and pattern of generosity 4.) Most people get stuck on the semantics of giving rather than the surrender of giving 5.) Declare this statement by faith: " If God says so, I'll sow Four (4) reasons why don't people give: (1) missing teaching, (2) misinformation ( God does not give to you because you gave to him, he gave to you before you could ever give to him. Your giving is a response to his goodness to you), (3.) misinterpretation, and (4) wrong motives Five (5) reasons why you should give: (1) It's a principle of the kingdom, (2) It's a pattern of Jesus, (3) it's practicing wisdom, (4) put God first and (5) it proves you trust 6.) If you decide to give, God will fund the giving 7.) Every miracle starts with someone sowing Scripture reference: Ecclessiates 11:6 Acts 3:6 2 Corinthians 8:1-4

That’s crazy because I give gave away all of me and my kids things to my family all our clothes, house hold things etc because I didn’t know when I was gone go back to get it so I just told my sisters to slip and everything up and what they didn’t won’t to give it to the goodwill. Technically I'm still considered homeless until I no longer have to pay rent or a mortgage. I think the main problem is still being blinded about what we truly are and posses without Christ. As I get more older I get more open about the truth and the truth is not that many folks can afford to give up ten percent. I can't speak for the rich but ten percent always seems like too much to give. I just trust God and trust my spirit when it comes to giving. God has put us all in a different timing in my opinion. Man, I know what he talking about when he say something be telling him to give to other people, even though I have food stamps and a lil money at times I would still give.I used to see some people in the store and can’t pay for their food that’s $200 or $300 so I used to take my food stamp card and just swipe so they can have the food and walk out the store like why did I just do that. I hear something telling me to get up and do for others when Ik that person/ people won’t do for me but I do it anyways. I hear stuff all the time saying do are give and it be belowing me because I have multiple children and I don’t get as much help with nothing but I stay helping the next. But at this point in my life I stop caring about that and just do for others.

I am in a shelter and there is a lady with a austism child and her husband and I spend $80 bubks to buy they food. She also ask me for a shirt and I gave it to her. Is the second time I do this while I am in the situation that I am in. I left my things in the bathroom and a young girl use my soap , pass it to her sister and while she was walking sith my towel from the bathroom I ask her did you use my towel and you use my soap? I said never steal or use someone else personal stuff. Then I notice they had nothing just came from Haiti and I went I spend $50 dollars on soap towels sponge for all 4 of them and I work for $15 dollafs an hour. I know what God is going to do in my life and even if he doesn't I'm still greatful but to sow in someones life it gives me joy. I will do it again everytime I see the need. Out of nothing and not being able. I still do it. Is the God in me.

There was a voice that told me to call our CSI manager at work this morning to volunteer to be a CSI champion for our department to encourage everyone to ensure monthly they give something to the CSI box which is normally empty. I’m currently at 22 minutes of this sermon and all he has done is use one Bible verse to explain why you should give or be “generous”. This man’s quotes have been no the screen more than Gods word; this is a message to benefit him, not Gods house. But, I’ll keep watching for those who say “you need to watch the whole thing”.

If you have a problem with what he says and you feel it's false teaching go to the Bible for yourself and search out all the times in the Bible God says to be generous and give. Then you obey God's word and give to who you feel needs it. Then you will be obeying which is all Pastor Mike is telling us to do. Since he talked about buying a cup of coffee for someone or buying a gift card and giving it to who God points out to you, I am not sure where you see that he would benefit from those types of things, but I understand some people only want to see negative and will have a problem with whatever he says. I just pray for you to do your own research and studies, see if what he says, aligns with what God says. It's the only way.

I do agree with sowing a seed, but I don’t agree that my possessions are seeds. Sowing is a spiritual action, not a physical action. Of course you don’t see anything wrong with it because you are being deceived by this man’s teachings. You can go back and watch videos of him saying he does not read the Bible, he does not enjoy reading the Bible, and he has people prepare his messages for him. If you can’t understand how dangerous it is to be lead by this man, you are blind.

@@dblans20 I watched that sermon. He said he had to learn to love it because it was not his desire to become a pastor. He was called to it. I do understand that because I don't always love reading it myself. I am still learning how to read it and understand. As a pastor giving of yourself is definitely in the bible not just spiritual here are a few verses OT and NT that talk about giving to people not just spiritually that you may want to study. Proverbs 22:9, Proverbs 28:27, Hebrews 13:16, Luke 6:30 and the best one that I will lay out here word for word. Luke 12:33-34. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The first line is all I need to see. See, you think I am deceived but in reality I have learned to not listen to what ever man says and read for myself. And there is nothing in this teaching that goes against the Bible. You can research it for yourself.

I asked my Christian friend, "Would you trust someone who openly hates you and constantly insults Jesus, someone who believes your God is different from theirs and that you worship idols?" He immediately replied, "Of course not!" I followed up by asking, "Then how can you trust the Old Testament?
