Another thing that has happened a lot is items are in the wrong place and you end up paying a lot more for it because it may have said it was one price on the shelf and then if you can test it then you find out the item was on the wrong shelf or in the wrong spot on the Shelf . All I know is you should always check your receipt while you're there before you leave
Their mistakes are always in their favor. I got tired of being over charged for items like buying 1 bellpepper and being charged for 11 or 3 roma tomatoes which should have been around 76cents and being charged a little over $7.00. Also, they love to have sales without giving you the sale price at the register. That is a very old scam. I saw a show on it a long time ago and they still do it.
As someone who is cross trained on registers at Walmart, I’ve noticed similar things and obviously corrected them. One time I tried to type the four digit code for a fruit and I keyed one wrong number, and it added this weird $254 dollar item with a weird name description. I caught it and had my manager void it off the bill thankfully.
It’s no accident they do stuff like that on purpose! Walmart knows exactly what they’re doing! THEY ARE MEAN TO EVERYONE! EMPLOYEES, CUSTOMERS, EVERYONE!
Always watch the scanner screen as they scan what you are buying....Walmart is always scanning the wrong price from what is on the shelf....this happens all the time.
If everyone quit shopping there it would get better. Remember when they used to check you out and treat you like a customer. They need to close more of them down.
The "K" means the UPC and price was manually entered by the cashier (likely because its missing the tags). That explains the misspelling of the word Jacket.
Walmart has been trying to rip people off! If you don't check your receipt they're charging you more than what the item says on the price tag with some items in self checkout. It's happened to me several times but every time I've always caught it because I always look, some people don't look and probably have gotten ripped off, though!!!!
I really like the way you pulled me in with this vid and ended with don't believe everything you see!! It was done really well, and it's nice to see a clip telling us to be careful because there are LOTS of fake stories and most people do 0 research and believe everything they're told. Cheers!
I used to be a Cashier at Walmart and Yes this does Happen. It is an Error occurring not an intentional scanning or Numerical Situation done with malicious intent. I would however report the situation to my managers and it wouldn’t be fixed immediately. Often I would figure out why it was happening but the problem would hang around longer than a reasonable amount of time causing customer upsets and wasting everyone’s time with refunds etc. Not to mention often it was blamed on the Cashier or Walmart in general taking advantage of customers not paying attention.
Sounds curiously like police departments having an ‘internal investigation’...curiously they reliably find they did nothing wrong. Anytime I see Snopes said - I’m wary.
@@MDTASHA0926so that literally means we’re shit out of luck cuz last time they called cops here they wrrr pissed and said only call wen a stabbing happens
This video is the clarification for the people who saw that negative Walmart Post. I rarely use my debit cards at stores but twice...2 different cards...2 different accounts both were hacked & duplicate cards made, right after using those cards at Walmart self check out. Truth!
Wal mart is terrible for over charging people, my girlfriend recently dealt with this incident. They charged her double for a vinyl record in which theres no way they should of cause the prices showed different on the receipt.
This charge is ACTUALLY TRUE!!! MY AUNT has been charged this mysterious charge 2 times in the last 5 years!!! And then they tell her that can't refund something that is not an actual item!!!🤬 "Denton, Tx."
Imagine how many tired parents shop weekly/biweekly with 2 or 3 little kids. There is absolutely no way they can watch the register to make sure that they're not being overcharged. Once they're home they have to put away the groceries, feed and bathe the kids, get them to bed and get themselves ready for bed. When do they even have the time and energy to check that receipt? These big stores know that most people won't catch it, so they're never going to change it. Phantom charges and overpriced items are extremely common
I worked at Walmart for a while, and one day a customer noticed a wrong flag in front of an item and started going on and on about it like it was a scam. I told her I had a secret about Walmart and don't tell anyone but the employees there were human and sometimes simply made mistakes. That calmed her down and I guess maybe even made her think. Something some of the shoppers there really need to do. And that is the Walmart secret of the day enjoy.
I cought Walmart at the self checkout lanes twice remotely adding to my receipt! To the tune of 15.00 nearly, and .75 cents over . Now .75 don't seem like much but it is after 100s of customers add up. Some how it is a way for the employee to end up with money. Embezzlement is in it, and when I cought it, the Holy Spotify spoke to me it has been going on a long time. I never made a lot of money and never had much, I was pretty up set about it and believe it has a lot to do with a lot of criminals that hit my life pretty hard.
Yes, lol! Walmart is totally honest! Just go to the accused and ask, if they deny it, you are set! It works with OJ, he says he didn't kill Nicole and Ron, in a jealous rage, so it must be someone else as a defendant wouldn't lie! Haha!
The phantom charges do happen, usually it’s rare for it to appear. But it’s when the previous item gets scanned. It’s the cashiers job to make sure there aren’t any errors such as this when ringing up an order. I’ve only seen it happen a few times over the last 13 years.
My bs detector went off when she claimed WM told her it had been going on for years. No corporation would admit that to a customer even if it was true.
Depends on the person answering the phone at that time. I’ve heard a lot unprofessional things said by the person answering the phone of companies I’ve dealt with. When I asked another person they would say something different. Or it could be a disgruntled worker. Who knows it may be true.
look up the lawsuit where a lady went threw the self checkout and had problem with the machine the employee came over fix it ..lady get receipt and loss prevention stop her. saying she stole some items. they locked her up and she sues for 3million dollars and won ..yes yez come to find out the camera was not even working ..hmmmm could they be falsey accuseing they own customers of STEALING sure are...this law suit proved that aswell. look it up if you dont believe it.
I was charged $10 for a 16oz bottle of tea, about $2. I returned to the store with the tea, was met with disbelief and treated like I did something wrong, very demeaning. Guess what? It was in the computer as $10. I never shop WM.
i worked for walmart years ago and yes they do things like this and they lie about it, cover it up, also they change prices and do not change tags, so people do not relize it is more for a item, thousands of people get over chaged, and the few that catch it, oh well, they keep on charging it
Double check your receipt against your purchases. Also since you worked there "years ago" maybe if what you say is true is not happening now. I would think "thousands of people" would catch this.
@@sueniskanen503 Not necessarily. Depends on the amount. A few cents here and there will not get caught by a customer but sure do add up ( for Walmart) when you do it to millions of transactions.
Former Walmart associate here and there is truth to that story Walmart does stuff you people don't ever want to know about if you did you would never go there again. And I would strongly recommend not getting any meat from Walmart. Walmart has people that helps Purge all negative publicity you don't want to know what these people are capable of
I for one know for a fact that this does happen. You really need to have 2 people with you when you shop at Walmart for the check out. I used to shop at Walmart all the time. Now I only go for a few things that they care that other groceries don't. I once was charged over 6 dollars for a bag of chips I picked up as I was checking out. I told the cashier to remove the item because I am not paying 6 dollars for a tiny bag of chips. She called a manager and it was corrected to 25 sents. If I shopped for the whole week I stood there and checked to the price every item ran up. No people didn't like it that were behind me in line but there never was a time that something was incorrect. The highest amount to be corrected was $37.56. This was just 1 stop with a full basket. I shopped every week. That money adds up. In time I stopped going because thy stopped carrying a lot of bands that I liked. So I had no choice but to shop eles were.
OMG! That also happened to me. I bought a big bag of candy and since I bought other things, even though it said 9.99, when I got home, I realized they charged me 14.99, but I thought oh maybe someone put them in the wrong place and that's what happened. Now I just do self checkout to double check each item, one by one.
Also I read to always look at the balance you paid and make sure change don’t show up in receipt if no change is due. If paying in debit I read cashier can enter in change when using debit. Then pocket it if you don’t catch it. I don’t know if it’s true but I can see that it can happen.
If you're using cash to send money through Walmart to a loved one in a different state, count the cash before handing to the cashier, watch them cashiers very closely. Sum like to sneak and steal your cash money while your distracted on your phone.
Walmart in Gulfport Mississippi is charging $10 on a box of cheap Great Value six count of honey buns glazed when it goes for only $1.98 a box and I did complained and took pictures and nobody knew nothing and didn't bother to change the correct price.back and these are the same product I get for my family so I know the price and the manager didn't so, please people look at your receipts and check your Walmart items yourself if you can , there is a great chance you are paying way too much even if it's on clearance items well, that another complaint for later on .peace !. Btw shame on Walmart stealing from the customers and at the same time Walmart complains that people are shoplifting in their stores . Smh!!
But it happened to me!! It said magazine in the description. I argued with my boyfriend about it cause I thought he'd allowed them to ring up a $10 magazine!! I went back to the store and they credited it immediately. The manager said it was just something that happens sometimes. I was pissed off about how nonchalant they were about it. This is not a rumor. Make sure you check your receipt. Needless to say, I had to apologize to my boyfriend and make it up to him. I felt so bad for jumping on him.
I am a cashier and I have seen that pop into a receipt a couple times, also a newbie asked me to correct an error for a drink added, she swears she didn’t add it. 100% I have seen the magazine charge more than once and I know I didn’t add it. Machines…
@@gardensofthegods exactly they do stuff like that on purpose it’s no accident Walmart knows what they’re doing! Walmart is what’s wrong with the world!
I contacted the local wal mart several times and then the corporate HQ about some bad product. Never heard back. I bought a 10 pound chub of hamburger and I opened it and started eating it...which is normal. Of course. I slice off what I need and seal with plastic wrap and place it in a big bowl and into the refrigerator it goes. I will never buy any burger in a colored wrap again...only the clear tube. If I had dumped the meat out right away I would have seen that 1/3 of the burger was nothing but pure white unground fat chunks. Walmart never responded. Buyer beware...there be thieves among us.
I've been using Walmarts here in medina co tx for oil changes on my car. They post that they "Adjusted tire pressure to 35 psi" they never checked, much less adjust the pressure. Also, they said "no grease fittings lubed". Only trouble with that is, The shop recently replaced all ball joints, three of which , have grease fittings. If you buy a car battery, they give you a paper receipt that the ink disappears after a month or so. When you want battery warranty, they want the receipt with the disappearing ink, instead of checking the date code on the battery, like everybody else uses. And last, but not least, the tire warranty on their tires does not cover side wall leaks, which they find with increasing regularity. I believe I'm going to go elsewhere.
Years ago I heard a programmer for the ATM networks would deduct a penny from every ATM transaction and credit it to his own account...a penny sounds like nothing but there were typically millions of ATM transactions and no one hardly noticed. A penny stolen is a penny earned! He was eventually caught of course.
Just because a store is first in gross revenue or locations doesn't mean it is the most popular. Not every customer shops there because it is their favorite store.
@@CardMan91 they may have 1 re cash registers open byt the only time they have them ALL open is on black. Typically, they only have 2 to 3 cashiers open at one time.
I like SELF CHECK, myself, being a shy gal, and it's fun! But every other time you gotta wait for them to correct something on the machine, or okay whatever anyhow. I've heard that self check leads to more folks unintentionally 'stealing' as stuff doesn't ring up and we just go with it!
What did I just see, I have shoped @ Walmart since I can remember and always thought was charged well over my purchase, a big chain can get away with this. Most people don't look but Skippy I will & they are messed up about that😮
Checking your cash register receipts is a good move so that way you are safe. Everybody makes mistakes. And yes, nobody should ever lie to a customer. However many corporations feel that telling the customer the truth is boring and they feel that they rather lie than tell the truth.
all is won now That’s simply not what i’ve seen of them. Maybe a couple, don’t know or care. But I actually like how they show their work, break down the original content and hyperlink to their findings whether it support or reject the original content. Do they have a bias? All humans do. We’ve made a problem of only being willing to trust information that comes from our own corner. “Alternative facts” are nothing more than lies or ignorance - no matter who says them. Double Speak is alive, well, and dangerous.
@Petro Phishhed anyone who makes or accepts the unsupported assertions, presented without a scrap of supporting evidence or validation, is the joke. But I see the power of the approach. Bury the lies by attacking the fact checkers. Investigating the investigators...very Republican.
Yes, Check your Receipt. I once hade $20 “Cash Back,” & I went back cashier to get my Money. The Cashier in a Hurry gave me my $20. I later Found out some Walmart Kid workers doing this scam. Now Walmart does sign on your Receipt they gave Cash Back.
Well I have a true story from Walmart, my mom went and was getting some things, I ask her to pick me something from the deli, it was lunch meat, well when she got home I looked at the price and it said $10, I said no way for a pound of lunch meat, I looked on the label and they put a label on there that said a eight piece chicken $10, needless to say we took it back and they gave us the right price and the woman at the deli was upset at whoever did it, always check everything, I do!!
I ate this cat. I ate is cat. I ate how cat. I ate to cat. I ate keep cat. I ate an cat. I ate idiot cat. I ate busy cat. I ate for cat. I ate a cat. I ate minute cat. Read the third word of every sentence 😂
You mean her hairline, or hair line? Jo Jo sliwa has receding hair from overstressed follicles, from wearing that tight ponytail forever, I've noticed. The ponytail is SO fake now, it is too heavy and is 'contact alopecia, or hair loss!
Any cashier could do this. I have had a Walmart cashier enter in something like this as well. I knew what she was doing though. She didn't know what the sku was and she guessed a sale price. I got a great deal! No complaint from me.
Nicole Payne I believe that twice I actually paid nothing for two items at Walmart. The first time was for a tube of toothpaste. The price on the shelf was posted as $2. When I went to pay for it, along with my other purchases (which I believe were a bottle of shampoo, a bottle of body wash, a box of Disney themed bandages, some new school supplies which were Disney themed too and a few other things!) I went to checkout and the toothpaste scanned at 2.50$! I told the lady at the cash that the toothpaste is two not two fifty! She put the toothpaste aside and continued to charge my other items. She called a coworker and the coworker told me to show her the problem! I was right! Based on store policy, I NEVER ENDED UP PAYING FOR IT!
TrueSolunar WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! WHO ARE THESE FEDS THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! I DO NOT DESERVE TO BE SPOKEN TO IN THIS WAY! PLEASE APOLOGIZE FOR THIS!
I’m sorry for any misunderstandings... Your message had cut out halfway and I was afraid that where you discovered a sales error, the higher ups didn’t want news of their mistake getting out and they decided to get rid of you to hide any evidence...
While this story sounds like a good legit one that Snopes did, Snopes should not be held up as a higher authority in anything. They have questionable people doing their supposed research who they themselves have questionable affiliations related to certain stories. Especially when the stories have anything to do with Israel and the treatment of Palestinian people. Do your own research, and ALWAYS QUESTION AUTHORITY.
Technically Walmart could take this lady to court for Defamation. Because she INTENTIONALLY spread lies and rumors about their business in the intent o ruin or destroy their credibility and reputation as a business. I don’t think they did anything about it but still. It’s people like this that give businesses a bad rep. Shame on her for this. All she wanted was attention. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Id notice it i add prices up as i shop.i was charged 3 times for the same 40 dollar fishing pole,i only scanned it once.i ended leaving and not buying anything they said the checkout wouldnt let them delete the extra 80.00. Walmart is usually better than that.then they said i switched tags, they were wrong again.90 min later i was allowed to leave
Now about this post being falsified, I can't say yea or nae on that woman's part, but can say on many of occasions over years of time I have had to go back with my receipts showing different Walmarts where they either advertise one price and charge you another, or where they've charged me for items I didn't get, and even for items that the customer before me in line purchased ,yet I did not. I have proven by checking my receipts sometimes before I even walk out of the store. Usually the difference in amount is only a cpl of dollars and cents here and there , but can say they largest amount I had been over-charged on an item also ranged right at an amount of $10.
My son works in the retail industry. He says it's not possible to accidentally put in a wrong number & have a charge come up. The register won't let you put in a number that's not in the system & have a charge with it.
