Yes he is.. but the dude who wrote that comment about spilling the glass is an idiot.. if ur pulling a 100k oversized load with many permits and pilots and you are starting on a hill ain’t no way that whole frame isn’t going to flex with a 500hp cat under the hood.. What makes a good driver is knowledge of laws, alertness, ability to adapt to driving conditions, always scanning the road ahead and knowing when the car 300yards ahead is braking.. It’s always fruitful when idiots repeat stupid ass shit like that guy did.
That was smooth as hell. I only been a truck driver for about 5 years but I was fortunate enough to be trained by someone similar to this man. A real old school truck driver, an actual professional driver. I can safely say that CDL school didn’t teach me shit and he pretty much had me forget everything and start over, it was rough . I’ll never forget what he said to me. “ even though I’m being tough on you it’s for a reason, I don’t want you to be like me, I want you to be better” . Moral of the story: don’t ever be too prideful to learn from people that know more than you. Stay safe out there.
Nice shift knob, nice steering knob, beautiful cab, truck sounds perfect, buttery shifts. You my friend deserve 10 a mile on a long trip across route 66 with no traffic in sight!
@@mrsmrmrsmr big difference a lot of this battery truck deal is a complete scam. It’s basically being forced on us through government incentives and tax payer dollars funding these absurdly expensive trucks. Pepsis Tesla semi trucks bought and paid for by government grants. That’s right. Tax dollars paying for them. The comparison between horses and trucks is not applicable to diesel vs electric! Horses could pull a few tons of grain into town in an afternoon. Diesel pulls 80,000 pounds basically anywhere and at maximum speed limits. Unless it’s the occasional hill or mountain. Even mountains don’t slow down modern diesels that much. Electric trucks do not haul frieght faster. They are oftentimes governed at slower speeds to maximize battery life. Yet electric vehicles are forced on us in order to save the planet. At the same time the planet groans every time enough minerals are mined to build these toxic battery packs. I’m not sure Electric is all it’s cracked up to be.
@@seaofalchemy5309unfortunately it’s true, something like the firearm. Longbow men were gifted, but any fool can be trained to use a gun in weeks or days.
@@commodorejones8044that’s literally the point of humanity… we have the ability too adapt and grow. We do eveything we do too make our lives easier not harder. People take today’s world for granted. We arguing over which is better and which is a real car, and by definition manuals used to be better and faster, now autos can handle more power, be more exact, etc. but my point is, if someone from thousands of years ago came too the future or we went too the past, we would think we have it so much better, they would wonder why we all bitch and complain when life is real simple.
@@dontrah1838 yeah you going to the warehouse and get your own stuff. Yeah ok you going to go to the factory where they make it and be able to walk in and get an order. The only stuff you going to get is the things you plant and grow on your own.
Thankyou for your channel and watching you driving. You bring back many fond loving happy memories of my Father and Brother, who both spent their life in the haulage industry. Thankyou. God bless yourself and your family.
"You want me to skip gears..." No man, we want you to run this shipment of tofu to the hotel at the top of Mt. Akina while casually drifting past Macs and Volvos. If you get back down without spilling the water, then we can start talking about fancy nicknames and team names.
I've never seen a short video like this. I'm more than impressed. The inside layout of your cab is beautiful, stunning. You are definitely a natural when it comes to operating your vehicle. Flawless shifting. Love the revolver cylinder steering knob. Excellent video
You ain't gotta prove nothing to anyone. I knew immediately looking at the condition of the interior you'd be fine. Thanks for keeping America running.
Been in that same truck for a longtime you can just tell he doesnt even need to look at tach or anything its all just feel. I had a w9 i put 3.5 million miles on I was the same way with that truck Dudes smooth
You make me miss trucking. Me and my ex started in 2000. I was good at shifting. He was good at backing. Eventually, we both got good at both. I told him in the beginning shifting is a delicate thing.
Marv that's the ole school way of passing your road test. Congratulations on your baby girl coming in 3 months 😊 . Will be praying for Mrs. Marv and the newborn that everything goes well ❤.
Yup...lmao my dead grandma could have shifted from second to fourth and still not spilled any water out of that glass. He at least drank down an inch or two of it. Too easy.
My uncle Harold taught me how too drive a 16 speed like that. I would drive him back from the bar when I was 15 in his 1980 Mack r model when he was wasted he would place a shot glass on the dash of the truck and if I split any or grinded a gear he would chew me out . Rip uncle Harold one cool dude.
I love driving stick cars for this reason. You find that sweet transition between clutch shift and pedal it feels so good. The shifter just smoothly falls into place. Love it
I swear this is an artform alone. I am a chasis mechanic... I work on chasis all day long...so the appreciation i have for the men and women who transport loads around the world is very high. It really is an ART FORM
You can drive and you know you can drive. Never listen or read anything negative because it will consume you. Challenges are cool. You do you man and keep on keepin on. Do what you do and continue being a real man.
True trucker right here! Smooth as glass! This is how I was taught, but the old trucker that taught me used a hot cup of coffee. And like this man floating the gears.
This is actually an age old thing. This reminds me of getting my Chauffeurs license for a limo service. 1992, I graduated high school and went right for my Chauffeur’s license to work for my buddy’s dads Limousine company. It was the largest most professional in south Florida. I drove a brand new at the time, 1992 Lincoln Town Car limo 12 passenger. Trimmed to the hilt. We had a laundry list of celebrities we’ve chauffeured. To pass, you had a glass of water on in the back of the limo. That sat in a holder on the transmission hump. And If you spilled it, you failed. This is an old old thing that goes back a long time. And you my friend nailed it. Obviously there was much more to our training. It was hard core and extensive. And not everyone passed.
