Her toxicity potential is close to a 9.5, if we are examining toxicity from the standard lens of society. However, one could argue great athletes need tough coaches and not nice ones who will tell them they did great if they didn’t. We’re so obsessed with everyone being nice and calling “meanness” toxic it’s hard to separate the two in a conversation where the standard world is merged into the elite one. Toxic to me is anything dysfunctional. It’s dysfunctional if a ballet teacher doesn’t have influence over the students or the capacity to push them harder. So, by societies definition, she could be toxic and probably is, but by coaching standards she is not toxic, she needs to be mean and tough in order to get the job done. The one girl taking too much of a glimpse of herself and the teacher noticing it was funny to me 😂
I see more of thinking, concentrating, and focus on what’s next . I do this all time when talking or discussing something out. The camera caught them in the moment.
@@lujansalva1872 yes that mya be true but you still lose confidence lol. Also a lot of teacher expect you to be confident meanwhile they are pointing out everything you are doing wrong. So you still lose confidence
@@aryannacisneros1670 - it's their job to point out everything you are doing wrong. Life is tough and work is tough too, and teachers have to prepare us for that especially in a highly competitive field such as ballet. I'm sure that this teacher does actually care about her pupils since they do seem happy, confident and supportive of each other. But we also know that there are teachers who really don't like their pupils, in which case you take their criticism and use it to make yourself stronger and better. Accept that they are never going to praise you no matter what, and comfort yourself with the fact that at some point you will be leaving them behind.
@@djlivvy46 I never said they would praise me you are taking it to seriously. Yes there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism I was just saying that sometimes your confidence can be chipped away because some teachers can be toxic to their students.
Italiano. Per me discorsi erano strani. Nel balleto classico serve sempre insegnante. Correggere vostri posizioni e movimenti del corpo. Offendete sara piu che strano. Spiegare ed interessarsi come si sentano suoi artisti e normale.😊
the master ballet academy gets the sassiest ballet teacher award. they are amazing at being strict and fun at the same time that’s hard to do😅 i’m famous!
I gotta say that sometimes I freaking wish I had a teacher like that, coz when I was like 16, our teacher used to threat us all the time or even beat us. And it was kinda normal because we didn't know any better. One day he threw a huge heavy ass office chair at us (I'm not joking lol) and left us some scars. Now I look at this and feel so happy for all who have an actual teacher, not some psychopath (but also kinda jealous, don't get me wrong haha):D
Haha yesss mine did the same! She had these long nails and she said they were “malificient nails” ready to stab your butt if the wrong muscle was tensed
My dreaaam is to have a teacher like this! Mine is too strict but she can only yell at us that we're doing it wrong, without spotting the mistake and actually TEACHING US properly. It's pretty frustrating.
Ugh such a shame. I don't understand how teachers can just yell instead of properly correcting. One time I was attending an adult ballet class different from my usual school because my school was on break and the teacher kept screaming at this girl "PAS DE BOURREE" and spat on the floor but didn't tell what was wrong so obviously she's going to keep doing it wrong???
@@lionsmaine1238 Ikr!! It's so bad, I have to search after class to self teach myself what I got wrong... But many other girls in my class that are complete beginners suffer a lot from this. I'm just working hard to get to a better academy asap.
That's stupid, pointless and counter productive. Teaching the arts means more than knowinf gow to do something, it means the ability to translate your own knowlesge od how to do it into WORDS that other people can understand. You can't effectively teach dance, painting, acting, none of it, if you cant translate.
@@eviedramani8961 yeah and you will be given the basics and you will be dancing alongside professionals once in a while. Trust me it's not easy but your passion for it will make you enjoy it.
My Russian ballet teacher would say " bend body back." seeing this class has brought back fond memories. Ballet is not boring 😊. There have been a few performances that have brought tears to my eyes with emotion. Love it 💕💕💕
Oh my gosh when she was doing her head with Amber, Amber was trying so hard not to laugh. I would so love to have a class with her because the way she teaches just seems fun.
These are the best kind of ballet teachers (teachers of any path, actually): they can keep a light atmosphere on class, but still manage to do a great job on correcting the students!! At least this is my favorite type!! Had few like this, though… God bless this teacher and her career!
Love the bit about not knowing everything! That is so important in every aspect of life. There is always an opportunity to learn and grow. Absolutely love all the teachers at MBA! ❤ and yes the sass is just an added bonus lol
I don't blame u! There should be NO poking! One girl here said she missed her teacher poking her in the butt when she got tired of yelling it at her to close her butt! Like whaaat!?
@@libertychic8926 When good teachers do it, it’s not out of malice or anything weird. It’s the same way personal trainers can and will poke different muscles to correct or get you to think about which to tighten or use. Your glutes are just as important as any other muscle to tighten/control in ballet. It’s a quick poke to whichever muscle just to get us to mentally note which muscle is being corrected or making sure it’s being used properly. So I’m sorry but I prefer a light poke over being injured because I wasn’t using a muscle properly.
Ahhhh Amber and that side eye 🤣❤️ queen of the side eye! I really like this instructor! She seems strict but not cruel like some can be 🥰 and she clearly knows and loves the art! I like that she still tries to show the moves physically too its harder for me to learn some things when its an instructor that doesnt do that 😅
This is what you call an Excellent Teacher! You can see, feel, and hear the passion in her voice and in her body demeanor. Someone that’s quality and only wants the best for for her students. I’ve had teachers that did not give a hoot to give their all.
When she said” don’t ever think you know everything “ is very very true! The moment you think you know everything is the moment you stop learning!! 💯💯💯💯💯
The old Chechetti days were many who used a stick...but that is ridiculous, today. Tap counting with is stick to keep a unison of each given barre/floor work is for knowing what time signature.
I like this teacher 🙏 She is evidently a brilliant and observant teacher but she doesn’t shout at or berate the pupils. I noticed how she corrects different students differently (some by physically adjusting their position, some by using visualisations, others by demonstration) depending on their needs 🙌 She’s also so funny when she pretends to check herself in the mirror! 😂 That student won’t forget that correction after that.
Barre is about making all the core and stretching look subtle so you can prepare for the dance performances. Barre is so passive aggressive, I love it!
I loooove the discipline ballet gives you. Like not every class is filled with hard poses. In fact it's a ton of control and building! This is what I love, and I miss this part of my so much!! 😢❤
The ballet teacher is always like this. With the jazz pants and jazz sneakers, warm up wrapped around the waist. I love it. Some things never change. ❤
As a former professional Ballerina for 30+ years & an Artistic Director of my own company - she reminds me of my French Ballet teachers. But my Russian (Vagnova ) Ballet teacher was much funnier! My favorite teacher of all SIR Frederick Franklin! I also enjoyed company classes with Edward Villela, too!
