Love to watch you "loving nature, loving fishing and loving the Lord". I am 80 years young and watching you reminds me so much of my Granddad and how he loved to fish and taught me how to fish back in the 50's. He had a 5 hp Johnson outboard motor he kept in the trunk of his Pontiac, a tackle box, bait caster reels, fishing rods and cane poles. He could pull into any lake rent a boat and off he would go into God's beautiful creation and enjoy the day. Life was simpler, less complicated and more enjoyable back then. Thank you Richard for passing along your fishing knowledge and faith. God bless you and your family.

I remember when My Dad was alive I used to follow Him around while He was fishing for Bass I had My Zebco 202 or a cane pole with some worms or He would put a small jig like this and teach Me how to fish for what We called Bream just small fish and I loved it when I would catch one and My Dad would Smile. I miss that. I take My Grandkids out and show them what My Dad taught Me and I catch Myself Smiling at them the same way My Dad would do at Me

I'm a huge Zman fan and my tackle arsenal shows it. I've been throwing Shad Fryz for 5 months now and catching plenty of nice fish. Some of the biggest bluegill I've ever seen. And I handed a nice 5lber on a Space Guppy Shad Fryz. There's no limit to what you can catch. No way you can wrong fishing anything Zman makes

I hate to, but I gotta say, I kinda chuckled a bit. I couldn't decide if you did it to show Mama Sue you could take a slip too. Or if you was trying to cool off a little more. Thank you Richard Gene for countless blessings that you are to so many of us. I started working night shift back in January. Each night is different and sometimes I have down time so I can watch RU-vid. Your videos helped me get ready for our spring fishing trip and now you are prepping me for our fall trip to Dale Hollow. I was able to practice tying different knots and make up rigs for cats and crappie. I would love to "hug you and squeeze you and call you George"...my grandkids all know that means they are treasured. I love using the ned rig, I use the Zman TRD TicklerZ. The little offshoots at the tail give more action and the bass seem to go for it, a little more than just the Ned rig trd stick bait. Never targeted panfish with the Ned rig.

Richard, I can't remember ever eating a red breast sunfish. I've caught them but I don't think I ever ate any. We used to catch them with rock bass and smallmouth on the Holston River. I caught my first smallmouth there. A good 'un, too. Ever bit of 6 inches. Tell me those fish wouldn't be beautiful in a big aquarium. Green sunfish, too. Those bottom fins can get super orange that looks like it's glowing in the dark. Tomorrow Sloan wants to play hooky and go fishing.

Micro jigs for panfish (its still new for me): I attempting a longer shank hook due to how a panfish takes bait for better hook-ups. A different idea compared to shortening bait length.

Loved this one Richard. We don't have any red breast sunfish here in Missouri, least not that I'm aware of. We do however have those beautiful long ear sunfish. I love to fish for them on the Meramec River using a little rebel crawfish or a crickhopper. On an ultralight rod they sure are a lot of fun. Go catch you another'n! Wooo!

I decided to get rid of poor quality gear and gear I never used. I've gone back to fishing basic and simple. An oldie but goodie I been using that my grandpa used was Flys and rooster tails. I been using these flys and rooster tail spinners and it's working great for me. I been going through things at the start of the transition to get rid of crap.
