I think most people in gym would take being asked questions by a new trainee as a real compliment. Who would YOU ask? The other guy who looks like he barely knows his own way around the floor or the guy who looks like he’s in good shape? Asking someone in a gym for advice is a HUGE boost to their confidence (and let’s be honest…their ego, too).

Dude I've been back at it for 9 months after several injuries and had trained for years before beating myself up and needing a couple surgeries. I had to start back at square one after I lost almost all muscle in my right arm. So much has changed in fitness and training since I had to step away that I'm still being corrected by the younger dudes who have a more science based regimen. Keep working, continue learning but never quit and don't feel ashamed for not doing a movement the "right way".

Man. This is so fucking true. I had horrible social anxiety. I literally stopped omw to the gym and thought of going back because I was scared. But I told myself to keep going. I am so grateful to my past self who started out. It's okay if you have no idea of what the fuck happens in the gym and it's your first day. Watch full body workout videos on RU-vid (for beginners). Watch other people (be careful of watching others not everyone knows the best form. But it's okay in the initial days as you are using extremely light weights, it's almost impossible to injure yourself badly (you might end up with slight pains because of bad form in the first few days but nothing serious). Ask the trainers, tell them it's your first day. If they say they charge money just tell them you don't want personal training just an idea of how machines work. If you have the money for personal training, go ahead. Ask people around you. Just sit and observe, Ask a friend or get a gym partner. Helps a lot. Have a wonderful fitness journey. And remember it all falls in place when you start.

The second step is to find a gym buddy. I can't stress this enough, and trust me it's going to make a WORLD difference in the amount of gains you get by having someone to help you push beyond your daily boundaries and achieve your maximum potential. 99% of us are scared of that barbell sitting on our neck if we push for 2-3 more reps. Having the reassurance that nothing will harm you helps a lot. Having the right mentality and confidence just before you perform any kind of weight lifting is key.

Just to add: If you have the opportunity to get a coach always do that as you are starting. They can help you learn proper form which is key to proper exercises and minimizing injury.

1. Proper form is jackshit, lifting weights is the stimulation of human lifting heavy objects irl, there's no fixed form. They are guidance 2. Having a coach is a bad idea, you should learn from mistakes yourself, and there are more bad than good personal trainer who absolutely have 0 sense at being a teacher

I belive that most of us have friends or we know some people who work out and know what they are doing. I definitely wouldn't be afraid to ask them if you can join few of their sessions. Most of them will be glad to help you. Or even ask strangers at the gym for some tips. If they are passionate about fitness they love to share their knowledge from my personal experience. Just go for it

Nice! BTW im criminally underweight(100 lbs). What foods did you eat to get to 300 lbs(not to be offensive, I'm genuinely curious) Ofc Im not trying to be obese, just use it until I hit a healthy weight and I can maintain it

@@universenerdd I was going through a dark time in my life and had alot going on with family and got in to a deep depression. Everytime i tried to diet it would be just that a diet not a lifestyle. I would binge it at night. Sometimes i would have 5 burgers and fries and soda. It all adds up over 9 years i was 160 pounds at 6'2 when i was 19. I work at a supplement shop for the last 7 year. If you take a mass gain before you got to sleep it will help you but just use half the serving size before you got to bed. Your body's metabolism is shut down while you're going to sleep state so you will gain weight over night. Then you will turn that size into muscle mass when you go to the gym. I do take some offense to the question honestly. Everyone is different and everyone has there own journey because we have different body make ups. I wouldn't copy anyone to gain weight. There is a different between a dirty bulk and a clean one. But a Mass gain would help you. 2 scoops before bed would make the most differents. Make it a lifestyle 🙌 Keep grinding man
