Thanks for the tip. Night and Day difference. The paint I use is mostly Proline water based. Recommended to use .5 so I was reducing it, and reducing it and reducing it to get it to spray and not clog. But it still sucked. got the .5 upgrade suggested by you and it's sooooooooo much better. Now I need to get better at spraying since I can't use the clogging as an excuse. 😂 Looking forward to getting good enough to upgrade to a better air brush. Thanks again.
I use createx ehhh good colors good quality but thick amd a lot of top drying wich I feel any paint does that but compared to my Vallejo out the bottle nothing compares amd flows as smooth amd is super easy to clean I just started amd got a cheap master brush amd some valejo it got me hooked amd I realized quick just like with my rc cars I’m gonna get what I pay for so I got a Iwata neo amd some createx omg I felt I would never be good with my master with my neo I actually have hope for improving my skills as a airbrusher but I must say I love the valejo I actually just bought my second variety pack amd my createx I just use for rough drafts amd playing around I can’t wait to get a better hP-c or something but I did also just get a pro jet amd that with the neo whooo boy I already feel like a pro
Bro me to I honestly love the valejo it’s awsome I prefer it over the createx don’t get me wrong I use createx but I use my vallejo more for like the basic paint colors the only thing that sucks about the brand is they only have those little bottle sizes wich is ridiculous I hate that I wish I could buy a 16 bottle of black and white but nope I think it’s like 17ml or some stupid shit but I’m my opinion out the bottle best paint no thinner so.. quick question the flow improver will stop tip dry amd it doesn’t act as a thinner
my neo is constantly clogging and I've tried a million things, but not this... I just ordered the .5 setup, fingers crossed! Thanks so much for the vid
never remove your air cap with the needle in , it can damage the needle . 0.5 if a large nozzle for air brushing , it would be very difficult to do detail work. you could just thin your paints and use the standard nozzle . clogs are not caused by tip size they are caused by poor quality paints , paints not thinned enough , tip dry and dried paint from the cup getting into the fluid tip primarily. both of those airbrushes are great! and highly recommend them both
I just did this conversion but I seem to get significantly more speckling in my paint than before, Have you noticed this or is my Neo compressor giving out?
Tamiya paint has its own thinner depending on the type of paint. Also they cannot be thinned with water or straight acrylic thinner. I use tamiya acrylic thinner at a 20% thinner ratio more or less and have had great results.
Hi Zeros Hobbies, thank you for the video. Could I ask? Can I use universal needles and nozzles (Ones they sell online) on the Neo? I live in a place where it is hard to get Genuine parts
Thank you so much for watching! For this particular airbrush I would say as long as the sizes match up you should be OK. I say that because the Neos needle is one piece, unlike the badger needle which has a plastic bead at the end.
The Neo and the HP-CS Eclipse don't share any parts. The Eclipse is more like the Patriot 105 in construction with a large free floating nozzle, and it has a very large diameter needle, even though the tip is ground to use a .35mm nozzle. People use Neo CN Needles and Nozzles as upgrade parts for cheap Chinese airbrushes, and Neo Nozzles and Needles probably fit the Iwata airbrushes that the Chinese airbrushes closely resemble
Moral of the story, thicker the Needle, Look see it puts through, leaving deposits Done anything with 3D printed Models, is a Plastic Primer Required ?
Are you asking if you need to prime 3D printed miniatures? Because if so I can tell you from experience the answer is 100%. Yes, my first Warhammer miniatures I tried to free print I didn't prime and the paint peeled off just from sitting in the car in like 45° weather
I literally cannot figure out for the life of me what I’m doing wrong. I’ve tried several paint:reducer ratios, I’ve purchased the .5 mods, I’ve tried so many times with this airbrush. It just refuses to spray anything whatsoever.
How long ago did you get it? Are you able to return it? The first one I got was faulty I ended up having to take it back to get another one. The neo is very finicky I upgraded to the badger 105 and I like that airbrush a lot better
@@zeroshobbiesprobably going that route (upgrading) Bought the neo 2 months ago and had one previously. Gave me problems all the time. How’s running tamiya acrylics through the new airbrush?
If you want to blast your paint through the airbrush like a fire extinguisher then a .5 I guess will do it, if you want to use a airbrush properly you learn to thin you paints properly and use good products
I tried lots of brands and diff thinning ratios, the neo clogs easily bc of its nozzle design. Also .5 allows for plenty of control unless you have shaky hands or fat fingers.
